Direct Buy us on the idea of being able to buy products at cost by avoiding the middle man retailers. They assured us that we would get a minimum of 10% discount on almost all of our daily purchases. The sales pitch starts out by asking how much we purchase on a monthly bases and then goes on to show how much we will save if we join. After inquiring about a few products to verify their discounts were real, they promptly replied by showing us substantial savings. This was a true bait and switch because we were pressured to sign up that same day and the contract that we did not have time to read thoroughly said that all verbal commitments were void and the only companies that they would give us a discount were the 750 companies that were in their catalogs. And on top of that, just certain products from those companies. And for the cherry of top of the issues, you have to fight to get the good deal because the web site and quotes are roughly the same you would find at Costco, Sams or Amazon with the additional problem of having to wait on your product for weeks while paying shipping, handling and tax. If you want the prices that were committed, you have to email comparisons with all the details of where you found it. If that is one of the products that they offer, you will have to wait two or more days to get a price match minus a small discount. Finally, the warranty for the products is then only handled by the manufacturer. We learned this the hard way and when we asked for a refund, we were told that no refunds are given and that we should have read our contract. I felt really bad for another person at the table during our orientation because he was a landscaper and was super excited about the discounts that he will receive on Husqavarna and Stihl Equipment which are not included in their list of companies. I also remember the store manager talking about another customer that bought a Rolex recently and said that the savings on just that watch could have paid for the membership. The only problem is that Rolex is not on the list so that was another verbal commitment that is void. My wife asked about a Louis Vuitton purse and she got a great price before we signed the contract and unfortunately, that is not on the list which we only found out after signing the contract that said all verbal commitments are void.
