The repairman called me before proceeding to give me the information and pricing. He then told me what looked like might happen soon and suggested I replace both gears or I would have to do it again. With the age and product information I was able to discern that the replacement parts are of a higher quality than the original parts, so I agreed to the repair. He was very knowledgable and easy to talk with. He was correct on the pricing and on the amount of time it would take to have the parts shipped and then the machine replaced. Very easy repair.

Barb's shop handled a serger repair for us (very well, I might add), so we visited her shop first when looking for a sewing/embroidery machine. The staff was extremely friendly and demonstrated the equipment to me and my daughters so well that my girls said we could stop shopping, they'd found what we wanted. We ordered the machine, but the manufacturer fell very far behind in fulfilling orders. Barb loaned us her demonstration machine while we waited for delivery, which deprived her of the ability to demonstrate the machine. Her staff was always ready to answer questions, and one of her technicians even gave me his cell phone number so I could call him directly. As a small business owner myself, I know how difficult it is to breed a culture of responsiveness and service to the customer. Barb's is now our sewing machine store of choice - we won't shop anywhere else.
