B & C Irrigation Systems

It went okay. They are pricey but I think they are the only company in our area that is why they are pricey. They came on time and there's no problem getting on touch with them. One thing has been messed up so they sent somebody out to fix it without a charge the next week. They were fine. They got the job done, they are a regular average company; not the low but not above.

It went well. Installation was thorough and professionally done. System appears very adequate. The crew was timely and cleaned up well. A little on expensive side but job appears quality and company knowledgeable. Good maintenance plan but it cost extra. B&C honored 15% discount through Redstone FCU for original estimate but when I added a $175 rain sensor on day of installation they did not include that in discount which was disappointing. All in all I think they are the best company in area for irrigation.

I would have given most all A's except the first man that came out spoke little English. It was later told to us that this was above just adjusting sprinklers and offered us a good price to do all the work they did. They only asked for $65 more dollars to figure it out. We were told that is was all bad and purchased, due to time limitations to get it online, them to install new timer box and additional item to monitor other things. Was happy with the final crew that came in and took care of it all. It was clear on the sprinkler adjustments and repair would have been fine with okay, the job was more entailed. When it was all said and done, the original $49 or so Angie's to adjust the sprinklers they would not do according to the last man, so I spent plenty of money with them by this point, Bucks more for this equipment and sprinklers were only adjusted by a good employee. This man is the one that satisfied us and for his professionalism, he made us happy and if not for him, we would never use this company again, only because they made us wait in between for 10 days from original appt to repair. So $49 Angie's Deal. Extra time to find the problem $65 and we agreed this was fair. Then it was told to us that are stuff was bad, paid like $175 + for this unit and if not for an employee that they should give a raise, saved the company.

What a waste of money! They came out and upfront said they were just going to look at my system. I paid for a tune-up, not an assessment. The level of detail of information they gave me wasn't even helpful, such as "This head is bad." They were on time and it was apparent that they knew what they were talking about. However, it wasn't what I paid for.

They made all necessary adjustments. Additionally, a leak in the system line was found that had been a problem for years. A timely and effective repair was made. I was very pleased and would gladly call again for any additional work I need in the future. The work done was worth more than was charged and, but for this special discount, could have easily cost 3 to 4 times more than I paid. I highly recommend B & C Irrigation Systems.

Ryan replaced 3 sprinkler heads and adjusted most of them in my front yard. He inadvertently broke one of the sprinkler heads while adjusting it and replaced it without asking for additional reimbursement. The overall pricing was half that of my first experience with B & C based on the time involved. B & C exceeded my expectation and my ratings this time are representative of that exceptional service.

It went good. They were supposed to come out and move some heads and add a couple of heads. I never heard from them back since then. The job overall was fine. The experience was good. The guy was knowledgeable. He knew what he was doing. They're prompt when they came out. The price was fine. They were very professional.

I was glad to have the sprinkler system back to how it was originally installed 7 years ago.

It went well. I had to wait about 2 weeks to get my service performed but the technician arrived when he promised and did the inspection in a professional manner. I had a second service (additional charge) to repair the problem areas he noted in his inspection. In addition he showed me a rain detector and switch that will turn the system off after a rain which I purchased and had installed.The additional work was slightly over $200 additional which I consider reasonable for the work done and the rain detector. I intend to use this company for any additional irrigation system needs that I have.

WORD FOR WORD "$49 comprehensive sprinkler tune-up (for up to eight zones) Deal includes checking for line leaks, dry areas, broken sprinkler heads, cleaning and adjusting clogged nozzles". B&C Irrigation then called to say cleaning and adjusting clogged nozzles was an additional charge. This makes me question the screening process Angie's List has in place. This "Big Deal" by B&C Irrigation should be on Rip-off Report instead of Angie's List! There is no confusion, B&C a Irrigation is simply unwilling to perform work as advertised in Angie's List Big Deal. This reflects poorly on B&C Irrigation AND Angie's List.

B&C arrived as scheduled to perform a "$49 Comprehensive Sprinkler Tune up" as advertised on Angie's List. The word "diagnostic" was not used in the ad, but the ad stated "an additional fee will be charged for any additional zones (over six zones) requiring tuneup". B&C's representative was professional and very pleasant. My wife and I were initially advised that any "additional" labor effort was not included in Angie's Special. Representative inspected all 6 zones and quickly performed work described above. In addition to the $49 previously paid to Angie's List, I was then given a bill for "labor" for $61 plus $31 for the 3 (new) screw-in parts. My total cost of services plus parts was $141. The charge for the 3 parts was totally appropriate. In regards to the labor charge, I felt it was illogical to believe a company could conduct a sprinkler "tune up" without exerting at least a minimum amount of labor which was made here. I later spoke to the owner who stated that Angie's List may have misrepresented what the services were to be provided and it was to be only a "diagnostic evaluation" and tune-up of the sprinkler heads. He said that Angie's List keeps all funds initially received (which is incorrect) and that the company's normal charge for one hour's work was $140 (for 2 people). While that seems excessive, it may well be in line with other competing companies in the area. Upon discussions with both the owner and its representative, the company stated it would voluntarily reimburse the additional "labor" charge made during the 45-50 minute service call. No reimbursement was ever received. I recommend that Angie's List and all its service contractors who participate in its numerous advertised "specials" fully review and accurately describe what is being purchased.

They were punctual and very polite. They inspected the system, replaced some broken heads on the sprinkler lines and reprogrammed the system. On the first visit they programmed it to run twice back to back by mistake. However, when we called back and told them, they sent someone out quickly to reset the program times to only run once. They have been very good to work with and very responsive.

I spent an hour writing a detailed review yesterday. My guess is it was censored. Here is a short recap Review is for Angies List and B+C Angies List - when the $49 deal was published I confirmed the value was $149 prior to making the purchase. Due to a "surprise" after it was performed, I rechecked the offer. The value had been changed to $99. I want to know why. B+C - I did get good value for the $'s spent. They had some good suggestions (some very inexpensive) on how to improve my "coverage". But since I had spoken to them last year about this service ($149), I was expecting some of the modifications (like changing our $1 parts) to be performed during this visit. However, I was given an estimate and was told nothing but the adjustments were included in this visit. I was also told the next visit would cost $75 service fee + $130/hour labor rate (+ parts). My guess is: a) the value of the deal was initially inflated and b) the the labor actually "delivered" was reduced and/or the 2nd service fee required in order to protect the merchant's profit margin. Is anyone out there willing to pay $205 for 1 hour of work? Even the $130/hour rate is excessive. We're switching out plastic parts and maybe digging small trenches. Let's get real. They put this system in. I will most likely look for an alternate provider of these services, do it myself or go without before I pay outrageous labor rates.

I got a service contract with them at a reasonable price. They're a good company, they do a great job and they were the ones who put in my irrigation system initially.

I called B&C to schedule an appointment, and the first appointment was about 3 weeks in the future. That part was OK, but disappointing. The real problem was that they only schedule morning or afternoon appointments, with no set time. So I would have to take off work half a day either way. I can't afford to do that right now. If they could have set a defined (even approximate) appointment time, I could have arranged my work schedule to meet them.

First, they never responded to my message via Angie's List. I had to call them twice and mention that I found them on Angie's List before their Angie's List "handler" called me back to schedule an appointment. Just short of A MONTH LATER they arrived 12 minutes before the end of the 4 hour service call window (without calling ahead of time as they said they would). The Service Tech was a little slow in getting the water turned on at the street as he did that to my neighbor's sprinkler system instead of mine. After that he was competent and deliberate in identifying the problems and fixing them. When he handed me the bill for $309 for repairing 3 sprinkler heads I had to do a double-take! The issue I have is that charging $130 per hour on top of a $75 Service Charge Fee and any necessary materials seems a bit unreasonable. A cursory Googling of "Jobs that pay $130 per hour" yielded a Job Notice in Fayetteville, NC for AN EMERGENCY ROOM PHYSICIAN paying between $130-$170 per hour! So I couldn't get my head around that disparity before paying them. I called to let them know the Labor Rate seemed a bit steep to me and they said someone would call me back to discuss the charges. The "B" of B & C Irrigation called me back to see what the dispute was about. As I started to explain he asked if he could please call me back as he was about to order lunch at a Drive Thru!?!? I said okay and a few minutes later he called back. We discussed the fair market value of Emergency Room Physicians versus Sprinkler Repair Technicians and eventually he conceded to give me the half hour it took to figure out my neighbors sprinkler system was turned on instead of mine. So he was able to maintain his Emergency Room Physician Pricing Model and I was able to get some relief on the bill which is now $241 instead of $309.

They were fine. Nothing in particular stood out but they did what I asked them to and it was reasonably priced.

Punctual. Worked quickly. Clean-up was OK, not great. Needed several rain days to remove red dirt on driveway and sidewalk.

B & C Irrigationdid a great job. After a consultation about the kind of sprinkler system would meet my needs, I received an estimate of price and installation time. The install team arrived on time, were very professional and explained everything to me. B & C returns in the fall to winterized my system and again in the spring to turn it back on. They always arrive on time and are professional.

The service was fast, the service man was cordial and an extremely hard worker. I've recommended them to friends already.

The yard guys (who shall remain nameless) broke off one of the sprinkler heads on my lawn system. I called B&C Irrigation Systems to see if they could replace it (they installed it when the home was being built). They said yes, scheduled and appointment for 2 days later, and showed up about 10 minutes early. It took about 30 minutes to dig things out and replace the head. Then I asked a few questions about my system and the guy who showed up took a quick look, answered my questions, and we were done. Quick and easy, no hassles. I would definitely call this company again.

I was induced to sign up for a yearly fee which would include opening the system up in the spring and closing it for the winter and would include any service calls that I had. After my service call of July, they sent me a bill for $75.00. I called the person who had sold me the yearly service contract and he said that they couldn't do service calls for nothing. They'd never stay in business. Then he referred me to his written contract. I told him that I expected him to honor what he told me which had caused me to sign up for the yearly charge of $120.00. He repeated that he couldn't do that and stay in business.l He never denied promising me no charge for service calls. His response continued to be "we couldn't do that and stay in business" as though I should have known that he wouldn't stand behind his promises. The only reason to sign up for the yearly service contract was to cover service calls, should there be any. He basically fabricated a story to get me to pay him my $120.00. I cannot believe anything that he says now and would rather not do business with him again.

I have called this service now twice to fix the same problem I have today. My sprinkler system is stuck and running. It's the same zone I hhave already paid good money to fix. The last time I turned it on after they "fixed" it I got. Big water bill. Luckily it's only been running now for about three hours. Well they don't answer the phone on Saturday i am NOT impressed with their knowledge. Do not hire this service unless you can afford a big water bill
