My wife and I purchased our first home with a VA loan through this Realtor Business and deeply regret using their service. They consistently took the side of the seller and consistently tried to convince us not to request many things of the sellers. We had more help from our lender than our realtor throughout the entire process. The biggest demand we had, that was make or break for us, was to have the "Mold cleaned out, treated, and completely removed". Prior to closing we had an inspector make a second pass at the home and relook at all of our demands to ensure they had been met. He stated that all demands had been met, so we closed. After closing our pest control tech came out to spray for bugs and found 8+ spots of active and untreated mold. This was far from meeting the demands of our contract, so we reached back out to our Realtor and the Broker himself, Scott Averbuch, both of which came across dismissive towards helping us get this resolved. Now it looks like we will either need to pay upwards of $5k to get the treatment necessary to protect our two children, or go to court spending even more money. It would seem that they could care less about us now that they got paid. I regret not seeing the red flags sooner. My recommendation is to STAY AWAY from this business! The next step for us, unless this gets resolved free of charge, is to file complaints with the Huntsville Area Association of Realtors (HAAR) and/or the Alabama Association of Realtors.

She was excellent to work with. I live in North Carolina and Averbuch Realty is in Huntsville , Ala so we have been working together, by phone and email. Lisa kept me in touch with all showings and any issues and she made it very easy to sell a home in one state while living in another state. I highly recommend Lisa

Jim Parker is one of the few trustworthy and honest realtors out there. We initially used a different realtor who got one showing over a six month period. After moving to Jim, we had at least one showing a week and and two offers within two months. Jim knows the market and can explain why the price point he suggests is appropriate for the situation. After accepting an offer, Jim went above and beyond what is expected in order to make sure we closed on time. He represented us and our interests very well in all dealings with the other party. I highly recommend Jim Parker.

Description of Work: I called Averbuch realty regarding our shopping for a realtor for a property we are selling, and I was assigned to Barbara. I explained to Barbara that we were looking for a realtor for the property and gave her the address to lookup the prior mls listing. I explained to her that most important to us in selecting a realtor was what they would do to get prospective buyers into our home besides just listing on mls, and reliabity -- that the realtor keep appointments and do what they say they would. We agreed she would look over the mls listing and let us know if she was interested in listing and seeing the house. Barbara contacted us to say she was interested and scheduled an appointment with us for the end of the week. Late the night before our 0930 appointment she texted us to cancel the appointment as she had rescheduled other clients for that time, and wished us good luck with our search for a realtor. She indicated she was not rescheduling our appointment. The issues I have with this are: 1) our effort to set aside time to meet with Barbara was insufficiently important to her to keep our meeting and reschedule her client cancellations around her existing commitments; 2) averbuch has multiple realtors... in a solid company if Barbara just had to cancel, she could have had another realtor keep her commitment, 3) Barbara chose not to reschedule.... if she wasn't interested in our listing, she should have told us directly. update 4/15: I have since had further conversation with Barbara and Scott Averbuch, Barbara was early to her second appointment and Scott was personable, responsive and informed. If things continue trending as they currently are, I expect to have a good experience to report. update 4/22: Barbara has been "on fire" getting through market analysis, contracting, a few touch ups to the property, and photography for the listing. We expect to be listed in the next couple of days -- about a week from saying "go", and less than a week from contracting. GOOD THINGS.
