ATEC Pest Control

We hired ATEC after getting the initial evaluation. The plan was $99 for an initial treatment, then $55 every other month. They were prompt with the initial treatment and with the first monthly, but after that would only come when we called them to come. I don't understand how they stay in business, to tell you the truth. They seem to be interested only in getting the up-front pricey treatment, then just walk away. We called and asked them if we were supposed to remind them when it was time for our treatments, and they said no. And they used the same story that another reviewer reported where someone had left the company (or was working in a different capacity) and that we had fallen through the cracks. So now we've gone three months with no treatments, which is a problem in a heavily wooded lot. I guess I should be thankful that at least they don't charge me for not showing up, which is what the pest service before them did.....

The treatment by this service is effective if done monthly. That was not the case with the service I had before them. I signed on with this service in December 20l4 and have continued since because their treatment does a good job of controlling these roaches though it does not eliminate them. They came promptly in Dec and Jan but have continued to fall later and later each month and only after I call them to come. They were here 6/8 and today is 7/9 and these roaches are starting to flourish again. I have called them 3 times so far today and got a promise each time that they would call back. So far they have not and this has been the same issue each month since about February. If their spray did not work so well I would drop them like a hot potato. I was told at one time they only have one service person for a clientele roster of 300. Their BBB listing states 13 people work for this business. They regularly run ads on the local television so apparently they want more customers but I cannot figure out why they treat the customers they have so shabbily.

I called several times, they told me the discount expired. I paid for an expired discounted service. Please credit my account with reimbursement. Perhaps it's not the vendors fault and NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADVERTISED ON Angie's List. The y told me that they hadn't had that deal for weeks yet you accepted payment for it. I have had issues with pest control companies since i have been in this area. I try to support local companies. I called and spoke with someone and told them of my issues. I live on the river and need pest control monthly. He said it would be no problem. The first visit was fine. Paid the initial cost. The next month was fine also. Then I did not hear from anyone for months. I called and was told the previous person left the company and we had fallen through the cracks. He then came out to do a service. He asked if I wanted to go quarterly, and I said no, as we live on the river and need monthly service. I said during the winter months, that would be ok, but not in spring/summer/fall. He said that would be fine. I have not heard from them since. I am very unhappy that they were happy to be paid the nice initial fee, made lots of promises and then only showed up once more. I guess their customers are not very important to them.

The gentleman who came out to give us our estimate was very courteous and professional. When the crew came to treat the foundation they were polite and efficient. They had to drill tiny holes through our brick all around the house to get the treatment into the block of the foundation.

The pest that had entered the attic has not returned

Showed up very quickly on same day after my initial call. Jeff was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave a good referral for a handyman which came out and screened/repaired points of entry. He spent a good bit of time going over my options and providing tips to prevent further problems. Solid company to work with.

We have a termite contract with Orkin, and a couple months ago after their yearly inspection we were informed that mold was starting to grow 'all over' the 1200 sq ft crawl space. We sent an e-mail to Atec requesting an estimate of how much it would cost to get rid of it. They called us the same day we emailed, and a person came out to give us an estimate within a few days. They began the job when they said they would begin it, removed all the insulation from the crawl space, sprayed the mold, covered the floor of the crawl space with tarp, applied plastic as needed, and completed the job the same day. The workmen were very professional, and as far as I can tell they did a good job. I would hire them again.

The company came in and sprayed my crawlspace sub floors and joists with a mold / fungus preventative. They came on time, got the job done with minimal disturbance. I checked behind them and the work was great and as promised.

Termite Prevention Treatment, using Termidor Product. They came in, bored holes through my concrete slab all around my work shops, and pumped the treatment into those areas, then sealed the holes and regrouted over them to make it look like the rest of the concrete. Then they trenched outside the shop foundation walls, and pumped the treatment in those areas. They even took care of a few fire ant nests while they were there with left over product. Excellent work, on time, friendly.

Excellent work, on time, fast and reasonably priced.

I spend $100 a year on that service and I think that is normal. It has been positive working with them. They are pretty good.

We were experiencing wood roaches in our den. We had used Atec to erradicate a yellow-jacket infestation from a bedroom wall 2 years previous, so called Atec. An appointment was set for technicans to come and spray. The appointment was made and 2 technicans sprayed around all baseboards inside and sprayed around the foundation outside. I asked an annual service contract. Each month for the past year a technican as come. He calls me in advance of his arrival as I requested. He is always punctual and in the one event that he had a family emergency, he called and apologized that same day and set up his visit for the next day. The technican sprays inside where I request, all rooms or some rooms. He sprays and/or broadcasts chemicals around my foundation and uses a brush to find spider webs, as evidence of spider habitation. He has been responsive to specific pest problems, such as the roaches and then some spiders outside, as well as ants around pool area. He has several different chemicals which he applies according to specific pests treated. I had some rodent noises in the attic a month ago and called Atec. They sent the technican out who crawled under the house and went into the attic looking for evidence of rodents did not see them , but placed bait in attic and in crawl space this service was includes in the cost of my monthly service, no additional cost. I have not heard any more rodent sounds. I think the technican is professional and very good about treating whatever pests I have trouble with.

Called this company and got estimate/inpection and many promises. They came out and squirted spray on baseboards and Delta Dust in about 10 places (a 1 ft area each) on floor/furniture/walls/tools in 2400 sqft house. It did nothing to help. Called back & one man spayed a little on the den rug. Did not help. Went and discussed with owner. Two men came some time later to 'fumigate' the attic, 2 floors and crawl space. Several areas missed as smell of spray not present (halls etc). Helped some but invasion returned. 'Fumigated' 2nd time & reluctantly 3rd time missing several spaces over a month timeframe. By that time they were denying I had a problem. They clearly did not know what a rat mite was- workman when shown several said it was 'trash' and owner brought out a board of beatle type bugs and asked sarcastically to identify my 'problem'. After multiple problems with this company and strong (but polite) words they did not offer to continue and I still had the original problem. In my opinion they are unprofessional, misleading and not to be used. This is my (& my wife's) opinion of working with this company.

Found the company in the phone book and called to have them come out and inspect and remedy my problem. I had mice and/or rats that were getting into my walls. The person I talked to gave me a time that they would show up and they showed up on time. They asked me where my attic was so I showed them. It was ceiling access only so they asked if I had a ladder to gain access. I didn't have one but was shocked to find that they didn't have one on their truck. All I had was a stepping stool so I got that. The guy stood on the stool and tossed a couple of packs of rat poison into my attic stating that that will clear them out and they'll be dead in a day or two once they have a chance to get into the poison and it has time to take effect. I assumed at this point they would inspect the perimeter of the house to identify any possible entry points for the rodents. Instead they presented me with my bill because, I'm assuming, they considered proper services to rendered at that point and were ready to leave. I asked if they were planning to look around the house for any places where they could have gotten in at and they seemed puzzled by my request. So, I stated that I had identified a few places around the house and I wanted them to take a look at them for a professional opinion. They agreed to do that and of the places that I pointed out they agreed that those could be potential entrance areas and put down some more poison in those areas. Instead of offering to patch the areas to prevent access they told me that if the poison didn't take care of my problem then to give them a call and they'd come back out. Of course the problem is going to persist if you don't seal off the areas where the rodents can get into the house. So, as expected, the poison did it's work and fixed my problem for a couple of days but then I heard more obvious signs of rodent infestation in my walls a couple days after that. Instead of calling this company back I used plastic and expanding foam to seal-off the areas myself and haven't had any problems since. If the problem comes back and I determine that it is serious enough to call an exterminator this will not be a place that I call. The two guys that came out to perform the work were pleasant enough but their lack of thoroughness, professionalism, and preparedness, not to mention they didn't fix the problem, made me feel like I made a bad choice in selecting them for pest control.
