+ -1 moreI originally went to Amanda Howard because her commercials said she would buy my house if she couldn't sell it. When I spoke with an agent I was informed that I didn't qualify for that program because I plan to build my next home. In order to qualify, you must buy your next home from her. But, they sounded as though they had the best marketing around, so I signed a 6 month contract. During that 6 month period, no agent from Amanda Howard ever showed my home. It was only shown 4 times in 6 months, and each time was by some other Realtor, never Amanda Howard. The day after my home came off the market Realtors began to call, wanting to know if they could list my home. About a week and a half later, I got a call from an agent at Amanda Howard Realty. She asked me if I had built my new house yet. I explained that I couldn't build until Isold my current home. She then asked me who I had listed the house with. I was stunned. I said "You". She apologized with a nervous laugh and asked me if she should bother asking me to re-list the house with Amanda Howard. I said no thanks.

Description of Work: I called AH Realty shopping for realtors about a week ago, and was assigned to one of their realtors for discussion of the prospective listing. I gave them the pertinent information on the listing and asked for them to look at it and please follow up. I have had no further contact from amanda howard realty to indicate they were or were not interested in further discussion or viewing of the property. This seems to perhaps be consistent with the prior reviewers experience. Of course I have no issue with any business picking its business carefully, but reliability and call backs cost almost nothing and every business should work hard to communicate timely, reliably and well. My experience with AH realty was little but not up to par. A different realtor at AH or a different day, perhaps it would have been otherwise. Update 4/22/2013: I was contacted by AH realty today, who had seen this review and was apologetic for not calling back. I appreciated their courtesy in the call, and they expressed a strong desire to change my opinion of their company and demonstrate what they could do for us. We have already contracted with another realty. If we have further experiences with AH Realty in the future we will certainly note the good as well as the bad if we have something to report.

+ -1 moreI called Amanda Howard Real Estate and asked to speak to an agent. They took my information including where the house was located. They told me that an agent would call me back. I waited several days and did not receive a call. I then called again, explained that I did not receive a callback. The receptionist put me on hold to connect me to the real estate agent. He came back on the line and said that they were in a meeting, but would have the agent call me back as soon as the meeting was done. I waited and waited and never received a callback at all. [Begin Speculation] The house was a very small house and not worth but about $30K or less. I am thinking that it was such small potatoes to such a big company as theirs that it wasn't worth their time. [End Speculation] In any case, I consider it very bad form and unprofessional not to receive a call back at all. With two calls I don't see me being "lost in the system" both times. I would not recommend even calling this company for information. Instead, look on Angie's List for a company that is professional and responsive.
Description of Work: I called because I had heard an advertisement on the radio for Amanda Howard Real Estate. The ad said she was one of the top real estate agents in the country. We needed to sell my wife's house that she lived in before we got got married. This seemed to be a logical choice. The house was located in North Alabama.
