My Team, Christian S and Timothy C were awesome! They were on time and did the work quickly and professionally. Kudos to this pair! Everything was explained and the utmost care was taken with my sagging, aging old house. They were even approved by my dog who oversaw all the work. Cody, who did the original inspection was great too. He didn't talk me into anything that was not needed.

Overall, good job. Removed tripping hazards and leveled walkways and concrete stairs. Costly for the work that was done but accepted multiple types of payments.

From the first phone call to request an estimate to the completion it was excellent,. AJ Wiegard gave us a second estimate which was at least $5000.00 less with the most expensive estimate from AFS. AJ continued to go line my line and delete anything that was not needed, but was in the previous estimate. It brought the price down even more. We appreciated that nothing was added that we did not need but could be charged for. It was a 2 day job. It was done in 2 days. Matthew Carey the lead in this project called to let us know that they were going to come early. At the end of the day, he let us know the status of the job and assured us that it would be completed the next day. Matthew, Bryan, Shane all did a great job. Pictures were taken to show us the work. My husband took a look too. The yard was cleaned up and they even removed old "stuff" that was left under the house. A short while later Trevar Akins, Production Manager, showed up at our house shortly after the men all left. He asked to look at the job to see that everything was done correctly. Mr. Akins assured us that everything was done correctly. We really appreciate the attention that AFS gave us in having this job done. Thanks, Donna and Jay.

Sorry I even called this company. Took them 4 trips to my house to correctly complete the installation of vapor barrier system, wall insulation and Sump Pump System under my house.What was supposed to be a two day job took over a month to finish! Only reason the issues were corrected is because I inspected the work and called them out on shoddy work. Day 1 crew started work at 0930 and left around 2pm. Next day they were not done at 5 pm and said they would be back to finish job next week because they had a job in Jasper. Really??? Who does that? Vents were not sealed off and blocked before insulation was installed on the foundation walls and I was told they were, insulation was not installed between all floor joists. I had the crew supervisor tell me to my face the vents were sealed off, they were not. Sent pics in via email, quality inspector came out to my house and tried to tell me vents were sealed, QA inspector finally conceded the vents were not sealed and crew had to come back out and take down insulation off the foundation walls and block vents like they should have done the first time around. Dumped Styrofoam material from drain lines all over my yard, I had to spend over on hour to clean up mess so my dog would not eat the cute little stars! Asked twice for my paperwork for my dehumidifier and sump pump so I could register them with manufacturer for warranty coverage. Area manager said he would email them to me never did, sent follow up email never got an answer back. Spent 12k for this bull crap! Ridiculous!!! My neighbor stopped by and mentioned he saw the AFS truck at my house and said he used AFS as well. I asked him about his experience, he said he was not happy with their work. I guess if you don't check their work you will be good to go.

Horrible experience. They quoted me $5,300 to install EZ Flow Lines and a sump pump under a small 1000 sf home. After I expressed concern over the price, they took aprox $300 off. They explained it was very labor intensive work and they would have to hand dig trenches to bury the easy flow the required six inches under ground and slope the dirt so that the water would drain properly into the sump pump. The salesman said they would have to come a week before they start the job with their own equipment and pump out all of the water. That did not happen. They also said it would take four men at least two days to do the install. Two men showed up and spent only 5 hours in the crawl space. Some of that was down time because they broke a pipe under the house. They handed me a bill for the balance due of aprox $3,900. I got on the phone with the sales person and told him I was surprised they finished in just 5 hours. His response was that he had sent his most efficient workers to do the job. I told them I was reluctant to pay in full until someone came out and inspected the work. I offered to pay them $3,000 of the $3,900 balance until it could be inspected and the owner provide an explanation why the job was supposed to be so large and labor intensive when im fact it wasn’t. They agreed but it all went down hill after that. They said the owner was out of town and it may be a week. In the meantime, I contacted a company to Jack the kitchen floor now that the crawl space was supposed to be dry. The company arrived only to inform me that my crawl space was flooded and the EZ Flow was never buried. It was floating in water. I called Ben Bayless, the owner of AFS and tried to explain the situation to him and come up with a resolution. He was very demeaning and confrontational.. I’ve had to hire another company to do the job right.

Before you read the rest of this, please know UPFRONT that the AFS rep notified us that they PRICE MATCH! We found this out after we notified them we had a quote from another company. This should throw up major “red flags” to anyone reading this. Why not give you their best price up front? Now read the rest if you would like. Stay away from AFS if you plan on getting multiple quotes. I LOVED everything they told me and was completely impressed by their upfront professionalism. The representative came out, did a thorough inspection and gave us a detailed layout of what needed to be done. Where things went bad was when it was discovered that we also had another company come out, providing comparable services for a moderately better price. As a decent human, I felt it important to contact the AFS rep to inform him of our appreciation but we were going to go with a competitor. At that point he became a high-pressured salesman and became somewhat belligerent. To top things off, we had filed a coverable insurance claim regarding a busted drain pipe and the insurance company contacted this AFS rep and the rep told them the problem was due to an issue that is well-known not coverable by insurance. Had I not called the rep to inform him, man-to-man, of our decision and simply “ghosted” him (a cowardly way of handling things), we wouldn’t be in the predicament. Through this behavior and revengeful tactics, he reassured us that AFS is not the type of company we want to take care of our home. My wife and I are teachers and work on a limited budget...we would be silly to not request more than one estimate for a job this size. A company such as this should realize that.

They were good. everything was clean they were really neat and they cover up everything in the basement. professional. The staff keeps calling me, sir.

I can't brag enough on the crew. They did an awesome job. Daniel, Johnathan, & Edwardo worked very hard and long hours. They were very polite and respectful to me. That means a lot to me. Adam did my initial survey and estimate. He was also very nice and did a thorough survey of my property. I appreciate all of them and would not hesitate to call them again for any work.

It was very good. This house is not on a slab, it's on a crawlspace. So they put the jacks in the crawlspace and then leveled things up.

We contacted AFS, met with the salesman and set up a date of March 2, 2015 for the service to be done. I took off from work and was there when the crew arrived. That day we discovered we had rats living in the insulation. I contracted pest control that day to treat for rats. When we were sure the problem was taken care of we set up another date with AFS to complete the work.. A second crew showed up that day, but said it was dangerous to do with my wife and pets inside the house. NOTE: No one including the salesman at AFS had told us the house would have to be empty including the first crew on 3/2/2015. We then set up another date for them to come out and had the house empty of people and animals. I took off another day to be there. The date is now May 29, 2015, we have been living with mold in the crawl space we know for sure for 4 months since I discovered it. The contract called for them to remove the mold, the insulation, close off all vents(to the outside),seal the vents and holes rats used to enter crawl space and install a dehumidifier. After the crew left, I discovered that during their work, they had removed some small concrete piers, and drug them outside the crawl space and left then under my deck..Since I was there when the work was done, they could and should have, walked around the house and asked me about them. It would have been easy for them to cut the plastic around the piers and leave them where I had poured them.. The week after the install was done, they have to come back out because the pump on the dehumidifier was not working.. They responded right away and it took about 5 minutes for them to fix. After we had several rains, I noticed we had had water pouring out of the crawl space door. I contacted AFS and a week later the salesman called.. He wanted to come out to do an estimate to fix the problem. I blew up and told him exactly where the water was coming in. He gave me phone numbers for Mike Long OR Ben Bayless,Sr.. I called Mr. Long whose voicemail was full. I then called Mr. Bayless and left a message.. Mr. Long then called me back and said he would get with his Production mgr. and they would be in touch. After two weeks i called Christian at AFS. She was going to give the Production Mgr. my number.. No one has called back. Now I will have to spend more money and time to repour the small piers in my crawl space AFS ripped out. Thanks guys, just what I wanted to do this weekend. I was not a member of Angie's List when this work was performed, but thought I would review them now that I am a member.

They came in, did a good job. They had a follow-up visit for me and such to make sure things were settled. They addressed the problems that I needed to address. They were clear explaining what the issues were they found, how they're going to resolve them and then they were able to do that in a very timely manner and get taken cared of. It turned out very well.

On site review was thorough, estimate was higher than anticipated, but are holding it for consideration at a later time

I requested an inspection and estimate for some issues that I thought might be a foundation problem in our existing home. The man who came was very nice and professional, but it seemed all he was interested in was selling me a very expensive crawlspace moisture control system. He claimed it would fix all the uneven floor issues, but would not do anything about the cracked brick over our garage door. He proposed no solution for that problem. I had another company come out to inspect and give an estimate, and they did not feel the problem was a moisture problem at all, so I feel that AFS is so intent on selling these crawlspace solutions that that's their suggested fix for everything. Unless you really want to pretty up your crawlspace don't bother calling AFS

He was very knowledgeable and professional. He advised me that my problem was not serious and I did not need his services.

We're still waiting on an estimate from AFS - Alabama Foundation Specialists, and we don't even need it anymore. We were going to get some foundation work done on a property we were thinking of buying, but we never bought it. We got an estimate from them for similar work before, and they were prompt that time, but the second time, they were not.
