He did not respond to my phone calls. The project had not started.

Joel did a great job. He gave me a fair quote for the siding replacement on my chimneh chase. when he removed the siding, all the wood underneath was rotted out and the job became much bigger. He and his crew did a great job of rebuilding the chase.

Joel did a great job, and he repaired rather than replaced the existing fencing, which made the cost much more reasonable. We were very impressed with his honesty and work ethic. Highly recommended!

Excellent! Joel exceeded my expectations. I’m often told that I’m hard to please! I spent several weeks sanding, scrapping and removing several layers of heavy paint from the deck. Removed the railings and steps as well. Found Joel on Angie’s list and set time for him to look at what I needed to rebuild. The only part left from the prior deck was the deck floor boards sitting on raised 6x6 posts. Joel arrived on the scheduled day with himself, his additional skilled worker. They went at it immediately until they had a quick lunch and went right back to work again. The entire project was finished in 1 day.

Contacted Joel to add stairs, railing and miscellaneous areas of deck replacement for our existing deck. It was difficult at first getting to talk to him, due to his schedule and workload. Because of the quality of his work, he is in demand, so pack your patience, and you will not be disappointed. We were pleased with his estimate and reviews from previous jobs and were able to have him start within a week of getting his estimate. It would have been shorter, but we had three solid days of rain. We agreed to purchase the materials and he provided us a list of the required materials. We did this because we understand a small independent contractor can’t always afford to have material cost hanging out there with no payments. To us the importance was quality and we were not disappointed. Joel did an excellent job and was extremely courteous and professional. They started to work and worked steady until the project was completed. We strongly recommend Joel and can tell you, you will not be disappointed

Joel and his crew did an incredible job, we could not have asked for more. They rebuilt our two level deck, stained it and replaced the screens and door. Once I got him, he is great. He came and looked at the gates that needed the rebuilt after delays due to the weather. I expected that. Once he looked at the work to be done he was ready to do it within next two days. Very prompt. Very nice too. A little pricey though. I could have gone with a competitor for $50 less but wanted to give him the work. CAUTION: have him tell you if he can get to you in a timely manner. I urged him to be upfront with people and tell them if he is so busy and to have one or two referrals if he is too busy to get to you. The work he does is top notch and it’s a shame people have dinged him on here for being too busy. Ask, ask and then...ask again.

Joel came out and walked the large yard with me and wrote down measurements. I appreciated that he did not try to sell me on any upgrades but provided a budget friendly estimate for only what was needed to secure the yard for a new dog. He was professional and responsive, and he gave a realistic timeline for beginning and completing the work. He met that timeline and did the work himself with a partner. He solved a problem area under one of the gates where erosion in our sloping yard made for too much clearance where a dog might escape. He poured a concrete step there, reducing the clearance to a couple of inches. I am very satisfied with his work!

I was so impressed by Joel’s work. He made great suggestions about the projects and they turned out wonderfully. He was here when he said he would be and did what he said he would. I am very satisfied with his work, plan to hire him for future projects and willl definitely recommend to him others.

No showed two weeks in a row. Hard to get a hold of by phone. Called back hours after messages left. The first week they said there was a car accident. Understandable, however i never got a rechedule or follow up call. The second week I was told they forgot to put me on the list.

I contacted Joel after reading all of the great reviews on this site. Joel showed up exactly when he said he would, and had our new mailbox up in about an hour. he did a great job, is very polite and professional. We would not hesitate to hire him again for future projects; highly recommended!

I can’t say how much I loved my home even more after they did a total deep clean. They were very quick to return a phone call and schedule an appointment. The baseboards, cobwebs, and ceiling fans were also given proper attention. My shower looks brand new and my hardwood floors have a beautiful shine to them now. Do yourself a favor and hire Joel Rhodes.

Joel was wonderful! He came out the same day that I called him to look at what we needed done. He is very detailed and he explained very well what he would do for each repair. He sent us the estimate the next week, and when we informed him of our decision to proceed with the repairs, he worked us in right away. He was very thorough and explained everything that he was doing. My walls no longer have holes, and my bannister is no longer wobbly and is now up to the task of protecting my six year old and my three year old. Speaking of my kids, they watched him working and chattered away at him almost the entire time he was at our home, and he was so patient and kind to them. He even gave them little jobs to do and paid them a couple of dollars at the end for all their "help". They were thrilled! They've talked about "Mr. Rhodes" for the rest of the day. We plan to have him come back in the fall and redo our deck which is in very bad shape. I highly recommend him!

Joel and team did a great job and worked with me on several one-off situations - 6 foot transitioning to 8ft for 130 feet and back to 6ft, large tree and a utility pole in the fence-line - Joel handled all the curve balls, did quality work, was great to work with and finished on time. Would definitely recommend and plan to work with Joel again on some other home improvements.

I called Joel to set up a time when he could give us an estimate on our fence. Because he gets so many requests, he noted it might be a little while before he would be available. (Based on some of the other reviews, I wasn't surprised by this.) We talked a bit longer, and when he learned that we would need HOA approval for the fence, he very generously gave us some advice about how to get (essentially) pre-approved so there would not be any lag time between selecting our contractor and starting the work. As first-time homeowners, this advice was enormously helpful! Thanks, Joel! We look forward to meeting you when you come by to give us an estimate!

We hired Joel to screen in our existing covered deck, which he did April 2-6, 2018. He and his crew did a fantastic job. They completely rebuilt the wooden components on the exposed three sides (that is, everything except the existing weight-bearing corner beams, ceiling/roof structure, and floor). They custom built all the screens with metal frames for 18 openings. They replaced the old screening in an area where custom-built screens would have been nearly impossible. They rebuilt/replaced portions of the deck that are outside of the screened-in area and thus had incurred excessive weathering and damage over the years. They installed a storm door. They power washed the entire deck and stained it in two solid colors of our choice (except for the ceiling, which we asked them to leave as is). Joel was 100% reliable and incredibly easy to work with. He was on site for the entire project, and he and his crew were skilled, efficient, and friendly. They cleaned up at the end of each day and at the end of the project (when the work was completed, it was hard to tell they had ever been here). Joel went way above and beyond, with excellent craftsmanship, exacting attention to detail, and obvious pride in his work. We got the distinct feeling that Joel was treating our project with the same passion and perfectionism that he would were he working on his own deck at home. We are absolutely thrilled with the result every single day, and we wholeheartedly recommend Joel.
