Tommy came out initialy to assess the old system and provide an estimate for a replacement. He took his time going over things in detail and determining the best solution for our situation. His detailed estimate was provided via email later the same day. Tommy's crew was very professional and it was obvious they take pride in their work. All work was done exactly as it was originally planned and completed in a timely manner and neat and clean fashion. Bottom line is that all work was done exactly as one should expect it to be done. Tommy's estimate was very accurate with no surprises in the final invoice. We are extremely pleased with the result and will certainly be calling Capital for any future HVAC needs.

I am writing to "THANK" Capital Heating and Air for the Excellent Job they did putting my new Trane A/C in at 7154 Cahaba Valley Road (Exclusively Ballet & Dance). It was one hot summer day July 23, 2012 and our A/C breathed it last breath of COLD AIR. After looking at Angie's List I called Capital Heating and Air because of their excellent rating. Amazingly they were there that same afternoon and gave me an estimate. My big question to them was what kind of turn around time would there be because I needed A/C in my business ASAP. July 25 prep was complete and by July 28th I was up and running. The work was done so quickly considering it was the height of the summer season! Was not expecting that kind of turn around time at all. I was expecially impressed with the personal attention to the job by the owner's presence on the first and last day. Capital made good recomendations on what type of units I needed. The work was done very professionally, on time with no problems. I could not be more pleased.

Estimate was accurate, with reasonable discussion about what I actually needed. Work was completed in one day. They removed the old unit/coil & left no mess.Every one was professional & courteous.

Our main floor a/c went out and it was time to replace the unit as it was 20 years old. I set up 5 appointments for contractors to review our existing unit and price replacements. Tommy arrived on time to look over our unit on July 6th. He measured our windows and took into account the placement and size of our registers when sizing the replacement unit. He provided his estimate via email on a Sunday afternoon. The estimate was thorough and included a one day installation guarantee. He promised that he would work us in this week for installation as we have an 11 month old baby. On Tuesday, he called to say he had availability. The guys, Mike and Jason, arrived when promised just before lunch. They worked cleanly and professionally. They stayed until 8:30pm on Tuesday to finish the job, showed us their work, answered any questions, and gave us the associated paperwork. Capital provided us the assurance of a quality installation at the best price of the five contractors that came out. After two days, we can tell a difference in the cooling of our main floor.

It went very well. They were personable, professional and I was happy with their service.

From pricing to final puchlist, the experience was great. Tommy came out when he said he would to price unit. A few phone calls later, the installers were on-onsite promptly and did a one day installation as I was told they would. Installers arrived in clean company marked vehicles, in uniform, wore shoe covers any time they were in the home. They were professional and courteous. The quality of the workmanship was great. Equipment fastened and secured. Equipment was paird and all pieces matched. They explained and installed equipment for easy access. Kept me informed as the work progresssed. Installed misc. and incidental items such as low voltage cables, exterior power shutoff, exterior conduit that I had not expected without additional charge. Exterior unit was installed including minor re-grading and some landscape pebbles to make it look like it had always been there. Debris, old unit was removed and the work area cleaned and sweep. I highly reccomend Capital Heating and Cooling. I found and used them becuase of Angies list listing and member reviews. By the way, a week later, and I am convinced this was the best investment that I have ever made in my home.

I pay $175 for the generator maintenance a year. I pay $150 to service my heating and air conditioning in the fall and spring respectively.

They are honest, punctual and their price is reasonable. I’ve bought 3 air conditioning units from the. They are very professional and I would use them again in the future.

Everything went well from making the appointment to completion of the work. The receptionist was very friendly and scheduled an appointment within a very reasonable time frame, even though this is a busy season for them with the weather getting cooler. The repairman was on time and performed the fall maintenance on our heating system. He left no mess at all. He was clean and professional. The pricing was reasonable. Capital has given us good service in the past and we will continue to use them.

Team doing the installation was outstanding. They notified me that they would be a few minutes late and kept me informed on all phases of the process. Installation was completed on time with everything left in great condition. Crew was very professional and extremely courteous at all times.

Great service...prompt to do the estimate and men were professional. Used Angie's List coupon that saved me $250. Quote included a guaranteed 1 day installation time, which was wonderful during our 100 degree weather in July 2011. Tommy put 4 men on the job so that it would be completed in 1 day. Saved me from having to take off work another day, and made my decision easier. I had gotten a quote from another A rated HVAC contractor on Angie's list. Price between the 2 was the same, but install was done in 1/2 the time because he doubled the men assigned. Other contractor told me it would be a 2 day job. He also "topped off" my freon to keep me cool during the few days before he could do the install. Told me about the rebate I would get from Alagasco, and had the 0% finance for 12 months.

Capital came in and removed my old system disposed of it, installed a new system (Trane). They were there when they said they would be and even finished a little early. They cleaned up after the job and explained every part of the new system. Pricing was good. I could not have asked for a better job!! Use these guys you will not be sorry!!!

Overall the service was great and I will definitely call them again if needed. The work was quickly completed and he stayed to ensure the air was cooling and everything working appropriately. He was professional and provided good information about the current state of my A/C system but I didn't feel like he was trying to give me "hard sell" (which I hate anyway). Call backs and arrival were not as punctual as I would have hoped since it was about 100 degrees during the time we went without A/C....but not a deal breaker. Overall well done, reasonably priced, and very professional. Would recommend.

I see generally good reviews for Capital, so I'm not sure what happened in my case. I called for seasonal maintenance on my central air units, and the technician showed up right on time. One unit required refrigerant, and this was added to the routine maintenance work-up. First of all, I paid approximately 40% more than I have paid other companies in the past for the same service. Second, I now have a stuck connector that causes one unit to run constantly. And finally, my system is working less efficiently than before the service. I will be required to contact another company and start from scratch. I will not call Capital again because my unit is a few years old, and if I didn't know better I would be concerned about an effort to sell a new unit. I will not go so far as to accuse them of sabotaging my system.....but, I do know that their service was expensive and completely worthless.

Tommy gave us the best estimate for the upgraded equipment that we wanted. His knowledge of our installation needs and his approach to the installation was superior to any of the other firms who bid the job. The crew arrived promptly as scheduled and completed the installation in one day. They were efficient, and did an excellent job. The work is perfect and the clean up was amazing. You would never know that anything was done. They even went further than expected on the electrical to make it all work and did not charge anything over and above the original estimate. I could not be more pleased and would highly recommend them.

It was really good. They were fast and professional. The heating system is really great. We got the estimate 3 weeks before Christmas and they told us they would have the system in before the December 31st deadline and they did that. We will probably use them if we get a generator.

I called their office at 2:00 PM on a Friday. My AC was running by 3:00 PM the same day. Bill was efficent, and professional. I don't know how much these service calls are suppose to cost, but the charge seemed fair to me. I absolutely will use them again when the need arises...Less than 1 hour from initial call to their office to cool air again. Excellent!!!

The work crew arrived 15 minutes ahead of their ETA of 7:30am in three readily identifiable vans/pick-ups with corporate signs on the outside. As I got my other family members off to work and school, the crew got to work right away outside and under the house and gave us time to finish our preparations for the day inside. The crew worked with four men through the day until about 4:30, and then with two men to finish up around 6:30pm. They had planned to finish in one day, and they did. The crew were all well-spoken and courteous throughout the day, even when (as always happens in construction jobs) some tasks took extra pains to complete (such as the 3 to 4 hour job of sawing and hammering through a concrete floor to install the supply vent). The crew were always ready to talk about what they were doing, and how it was going. They managed to install everything (including the supply vent) without damaging the exisitng hardwood floor (which had been installed over the concrete) or other features of the house, and they cleaned up their works areas very well so that we had only to do some light sweeping and sponge mopping to pick up dust. I would highly recommend this company and its crew of long-standing employees who work together very well. And as need arises I will certainly use them again. Though their price was not the lowest (nor the highest), they clearly knew what they were doing and took pride in the kind of work they created. Why would I go any place else?

They come once a year for servicing the generator and twice a year for the AC. They change the filters and make sure everything is cleaned up well. They are very reliable, come out promptly and take good care of the equipment. Their price is very competitive. I wasn't shocked that the bill was very low or very high but it was same as what I had expected.

They are probably the neatest and cleanest HVAC contractor I have ever used. Very professional techs did a good job. They are authorized to work on our generator model as well so it is nice to have one company do all the units and the generator. My only complaint is about the cost of major repairs. They seem higher than everyone else. I had them replace the entire upstairs unit a couple of years ago as well as all of the coils as they have gone bad. I don't have hard evidence of overcharging, it just seems that as I talk to friends who have had similar work done, mine tends to cost more.

They were very time efficient and really respectful. They also asked us good questions to make things go smoother and a lot cheaper. The work was very good and done in a timely manner. I thought they were a great company and if I ever needed any work done again I would call them.
