Tri County Plumbing

We don't normally get snow in this part of the state but it can happen. When the water quit running we called the normal plumber that we use but it was the weekend so they recommended Tri County Plumbing. We called them and they came out like they said that they would and were on time, they put a heater under the house and came back in a hour. They then advised us that the pipes were broken due to the cold. Then they informed us that they couldn't tell what pipes were broken because there were so many pipes under the house that they would have to re-plumb the entire house. We were quoted 1,000 so we told them go ahead that we needed water in the house. Shortly after that they asked if we wanted the pipes replaced to the fixtures in the house. I said wasn't that part of the job and was informed that the price quoted was just from the meter to the house. I asked how much and was informed 3,000 more. My wife and I talked it over and decided that we didn't have much of a choice as the new pipes wouldn't hook up to the sink, ect.. Then shortly they came to us and asked if we planned on having the pipes wrapped so that this didn't happen again. I then asked why didn't they say something in the beginning and was informed that they just didn't do that. When we noticed that they were cutting new holes for the new pipes I asked what they were doing and was informed that this was to save them time and that was just the way that they did their work. Because of the slant of the house I am not sure if all of the pipes are actually wrapped but due to my age I will have no choice but to trust them on that point. When they finally left there was a mess all over the yard of things that they didn't use. We did manage to get it all cleaned up but I would warn anyone that this isn't a reliable company. I had to go to the local building supply store where they had purchased the goods for the job and was told how much they had paid for the materials, which was way over the top of what I was charged. I don't mind a company making a profit but there should be some guide lines.
