Mr. Dixon did the wiring for a room addition on our house. This was done through a contractor. He did an excellent job on this addition. We had the same contractor build a detached garage at the same time but the electrical service and wiring were not included in the bid. Because I was happy with Mr. Dixon's work on our addition I had him give me an estimate for the garage. We agreed on a price and he agreed to do the job. The job involved some trench work which I agreed to do as he was unable to do the trenching. I did the trenching about the middle of March. I contacted Mr. Dixon to let him know the trenching was complete. He told me he was currently working on another job but still intended to do the wiring on my garage. Each time I called Mr. Dixon and he did not answer I left message for him to return my call and hopefully give an approximate date that he could start my job. He never once returned one of these calls. On the few times he did answer he indicated he still planned on doing my garage even when I asked him directly if he still intended to do it. On one call he even told me that he had the materials to do the wiring on my garage. On April 9th the trench had been in place for over three weeks and each time it rained it had to be cleaned out. Needless to say this was getting a little old. On April 9th I finally got him to answer my call. At that time he told me he just couldn't do my job and left me hanging with a trench ready to receive the wire and no one to do it. The quality of his work is not in question here but his reliability is. It would have been much better if he had just told me from the beginning that he couldn't do it. I also think it's very unprofessional not to return phone calls. Mr. Dixon seems to be a nice person and as I said he did a good job on our addition. Had I included the wiring of the garage in the original bid and he had to answer to the contractor I have no doubt he would have done a fine job. Working with him directly just didn't workout.
