+ -1 moreWhen I called for an estimate he was apparently on another job. He said he would come by and give me an estimate and would call me back to get the details (address, time, etc.). Never heard from him after that. It has been almost two weeks since I called. Not much concern for clients. Maybe he does not be in business serving clients.
Description of Work: Needed four 20 foot trees removed from side of yard.

+ -1 moreCalled on a morning to an get estimate on work (cost and timing). Chris indicated that he would be tied up until mid afternoon but would call about coming out after that. I indicated that that afternoon or the next afternoon would be fine. No call that afternoon or the next day. On the third day I called and got voice mail. Left message and my phone number. Two more days later and no response from him. I do not understand how a business with type of respect for customers can stay in business. If he was not interested, why not just tell me so and not leave me in suspense?
Description of Work: Removing trees beside the house that were getting too large.

+ -1 moreI called Chris and he gave me a very reasonable quote to cut down 3 trees, grind the stumps, and to trim another tree. He was punctual for the estimate appointment. He said he could get to the work the following week and did so as promised. His crew even stacked the wood that was suitable for firewood for me. They cleaned up after themselves and did an excellent job despite the bucket truck deciding it didn't want to work that day. He completed all the work in under a business day. The pecan tree was located in a backyard and was very difficult to get to, but Chris made it happen. I will use him again.
Description of Work: 2 large red oaks cut down with stumps ground, 1 holly tree growing up against the house cut down and stump ground, trim a 5 story pecan tree to remove branches from roof in a very hard spot to reach

Description of Work: Chris came put gave us a tree estimate on a tree by the house. I asked if it was dying he said say. He gave me the quote for cutting, removal, grinding of stump and mulching of limbs for us at $550.00. This was on May 19th 2015. My husband and I went back an forth on whether to take down the tree now or in the fall. My husband said take down now so I had called Chris a couple of time to call back and tell him to go ahead with the job. I left message after message and finally his mail box was full and not taking any more messages this was after a week of calling to find out what was going on. Maybe he thought I was a troublesome customer and didn't want to deal with me after being on the fence of taking it down. But, I had explained it was a special tree to me and to see it go was well not what I had hoped would have to happen. But, to not call back at all for over a week that is just not good business ethics or manners. I did go with another tree service and the job was more money. Maybe he low balled me an thought not to do the job and just to leave me hanging to find another one to do it. But, the least he could have don't was call back.

+ -1 moreI have a few neighbors who have used Chris Tree Service and loved him. I decide to use him and he was so disrespectful to me. He was very rude and dismissive. When he was supposed to be working in my yard, he was talking to the guy next door. I asked him to remove the wood chips and he said no, we don't do that. It had gotten to be late in the day so we agreed he would come back the next weekend and raise the skirt on my tree, he has never come back to fix that. My other neighbor called him to cut down her trees and he has put her off 3 times. I do not recommend this company.

+ 0 moreChris and his crew arrived on the day they promised. They worked all day Friday and Saturday. The crew cut down the trees in a very efficient and safe manner. Nothing in the yard was harmed as they made sure all of the limbs were directed away from the carport and roof lines. They cut down the trees and cut all the limbs into manageable pieces for firewood and because we did not want the wood, Chris had arranged for several people to arrive with trucks to haul it away. The stumps were ground and they left the piles of mulched up stump so that we could use it in the flower beds. The crew worked very hard and they were extremely polite and courteous. I will hire Chris again for any tree cutting needs we encounter in the future.
Description of Work: Cut down 2 large Hackberry trees in my back yard and 1 very tall Maple tree on the edge of my neighbors yard.

+ -1 moreChris showed up and quoted the removal of 11 trees and stump grinding. I told him go ahead and do the work as the price was competitive. Weeks and weeks dragged by. He would not answer my phone calls. So I had my husband call him from work and he answered since it was a different number. He said he would get to it the next week. Again, he never showed up. This repeated itself twice. We would call using a different number and then he would set a date to work and again never show up. So after about 6 weeks of this, I gave up on him ever keeping his word and hired someone else. The other person quoted me within $200 of his price so I know it was not a matter of him underbidding the job and then refusing to do it. I called him to cancel the work and his voice mail was full, not that it mattered though, as he never planned to work for me anyway. Terrible customer service and awful communicator. AVOID!

+ -1 moreChis is a class act. He did exactly what he agreed to do for the price he agreed to do it for. Some of the trees they cut were difficult because they were large and near the house and deck. His tree climber is awesome. None of the trees, their limbs, etc. hit anything but the ground. I highly recommend them and wouldn't use anyone else.

+ -1 moreChris and his crew were right on time and were nice and neat. They clean up and raked up all the area from the tree. They chipped it up and then ground the stump up for us. We have a great clear area not. We are so glad we had it taken down by Chris it was so rotted out. They are hard working people and they do a every good job. Would rehire them with no problem.

+ -1 moreChris was calm and very professional. His crew stayed the entire day. They hauled away all the debris and even raked the whole yard. He even removed tree limbs that could be used for firewood. He spread all the mulch out to make it look nice around the trees. Chris is also very competitive and will work with the pricing. He was awesome.
Description of Work: Chris removed two difficult trees and then grounded up the stumps for both of them.

+ -1 moreThey did a fine job. I spoke to four tree service guys, and Chris's estimate was the lowest. He and his workers arrived on time, did the job exactly like he said they would, and cleaned up exactly as he said they would. I stressed how important it was to me that they not harm any of my ornamental shrubs or stacked stone walls while dropping or hauling the branches, and they did no damage at all. In fact, they were the most careful yard workers I've ever had. They did a great job at a very fair price.
Description of Work: Chris and his workers cut down four trees and cut large limbs on six more trees.

+ -1 moreChris indicated that he could "probably" be at my house "sometime after 3:30 PM" the next day after my initial call after I told him I needed an afternoon appointment. He said they were busy that day "liked to finish their days early" during the hot summer days we were experiencing and he would call me if things changed. I took off work (wasted vacation hours) to wait on his arrival, after not getting a call changing plans during the day. He did not show up or call. I called his number multiple times and he would not answer.
Description of Work: Phone conversation / set appointment for following day and discussed estimated expense to grind 2 tree stumps.

+ -1 moreThis is the second time we used Mr. Congo's services. First time was approximately 5 years ago. He cut down 2 large elms that were damaged during a storm, and removed both stumps. His fee was much lower than others we had consulted. We contacted him again in March to remove the stump of a 30ft cypress that fell during another storm. The tree bordered our neighbors property on the driveway side. After removing the stump he raked and swept the area around the driveway. He is very professional, courteous, and efficient. I will definitely continue to do business with him!

Description of Work: We have used Chris twice; in Dec 11 at one property and second time in Mar 12 at our home. First and second get same excellent rating. This month he removed one large oak tree overhanging our house. Job completed and site cleaned up on time and no damage to roof plants or fences that were under and around the tree. During same session Chris trimmed limbs from 3 other large oak trees that were overhanging the house. That work was also done on time with no damage to other property and the site was left clean.

+ -1 moreChris and his team arrived as scheduled, cut down and removed the trees, ground down the stumps, and cleaned everything up before they left. They were careful to not damage my irrigation system or any other part of the yard.
Description of Work: Chris and his team removed two dead oak trees from my front yard. One large tree was up near the house and one medium size tree was farther from the house, but leaning at an angle; fortunately leaning away from the house. I would definitely use them again, if needed, and would recommend them to anyone needing tree removal or stump grinding services.

Description of Work: Dropped 5 trees to ground. Four of the trees required that they be climbed & topped/trimmed to prevent them from falling into utility lines, the house, or other trees.
