Appliance Care was contracted to repair my 5 month old Maytag dryer. The service call was scheduled for 4 pm. I left work early and arrived shortly before 4. They did not show up. When I called them to find out where they were, they said they came out at 2. Who said anything about 2????I said that I was at home waiting for them and wanted them to come now. They said they were not coming but could reschedule for 5 days later (meanwhile I have no dryer). They said they were short a man. I told them that they should have either called to reschedule then, or pay the man overtime to be sure they serviced all the clients they booked. At least I wouldn’t have had to leave work early for no reason. They said they do not pay overtime and that how they run their business is their business. I told them their business was poorly run and I was going to be sure to tell EVERYONE. She told me not to threaten her and she hung up on me. It is time that we as customers stop tolerating businesses that treat us like our time doesn’t matter. Appliance Care should go into another line of work. Perhaps velvet Elvis paintings…..

Call office 8/21/2013 for a technician to get a dehumidifier repaired. Came 8/23 to diagnose problem, for which I paid $75.00. He said I would get a return call with estimate for repairs. Called office three weeks later to find out about repairs, and was told that technician hadn't indicated that I wanted any repairs. She said she would leave a note for tech to call with estimate. It is now two weeks later, and I have not received a return call. Appears that they are ONLY in the diagnostic business!
Description of Work: Had a two year old Fridgedaire Dehumidifier which no longer absorbed water, and ran continuously. Provider came to house to "diagnose" the problem. Examined the dehumidifier and found a main board failure, no longer warranted. Said I would be contacted with estimate for repairs with a return call....never happened! Diagnostic cost.....$75.00

Appliance Care came out to do a diagnostic on my dishwasher because it ran fine but leaked. Per his diagnostic, he said the water inlet valve was the cause of the leak. He returned to install the part and informed us that it would take a while for the dishwasher to start washing again. He also informed us that a specfic part had to reach a certain level before it starting working again. Per his instruction we left the dishwasher on for an extended period of time; however, I turned it off after I started smelling a burnt scent. I called and informed them that the dishwasher was running but no water was processing through. I contacted them on numerous occasions and had an appt for the technician to return a 3rd time. He called but never stopped by. We paid for the first service call and received another bill for the 2nd service call; however, my dishwasher is still not working. Appliance Care was recommended to me through Best Buy; therefore, Angie?s list wasn?t checked prior to calling them. After calling I realized that the company was on Angie?s list with an F rating.
Description of Work: Diswasher was running through the cycles but leaking. I was billed and paid for the first service call and have been billed for the 2nd service call.

Description of Work: Bought an Electrolux fridge from Lowes which was in their discount area but it had a manufacturer warranty. we had the fridge about 6 months and the display started going out and we were having problems with the freezer drawer not wanting to close. So we call Electrolux they say no problem we will send out a factory authorized repair service to look at the fridge. I asked the repair service to call me before they were coming so I could meet them. Never called. My 14 year old was home and let the repairman in he dismantled the drawer and left it in pieces on the kitchen floor. My son calls me to tell me that the repairman had come and had told him that the refrigerator had been dropped and that Electrolux would void the warranty and not cover any repair. Lowes delivered the fridge by the way, thank God which saved my butt. I called Appliance Care and asked for the repairman to call me and tell me what he had found and why he thought it had been dropped but needless to say even though I called repeatedly he never returned my calls. Gets even better Appliance Care tells me I have to pay for the service call because the fridge is not covered by any warranty. So I contacted the Lowes where I bought the fridge and the store manager agreed to credit what I had spent on it towards another one. I then contacted Electrolux and after a lengthy conversation they graciously agreed to take pay the Appliance Care bill.

We did go to the customer's home. We determined the refrigerator had been dropped. I did call and inform Mr. Ashby that the warranty would not cover this. I called Lowe's myself and they said they would not pay the bill. I felt at that time, Lowe's should pay since they delivered it and dropped it. However, if a warranty or contract company does not pay, then it is billed to the customer. We do have to pay our technicians for going out to a customer's home and someone has to pay us.

Part required to repair was identified on 7/26/2012. The part was not in inventory and ordered. After 3 weeks, I called on 8/16/2012 and discovered the part had been received, so an appointment for a service call was made for Friday, 8/24/2012. Since I work nearly 45 minutes from home, I took a day from work so as to not require the service tech to wait long. Service tech called at 5:30PM to inform me that he had been overbooked and unable to honor appointment. Service tech advised me to reschedule appointment.

We did service the customer. We went out and ordered a valve for the washer. I called her on 08/14/12 at 8:16 and left a VM to call to schedule. She called in on 08/16/12 and scheduled to install. I don't know anything about having to reschedule because the tech couldn't make it out that day, no notes are on the service ticket. I am not saying that didn't happen, but there are no notes and I can't comment on that. We did finish the job on 09/05/12. When we are getting parts for a warranty or contract job, we have to order the parts from where the warranty or contract company tells us to. All we can do is order and then, we are at the mercy of the parts dist. to send the parts. We do try to install parts as soon as we can.

I was happy and relieved that he was able to finally correctly diagnose the problem, but instead of putting back my perfectly good switch (a two minute job), he closed up the stove and billed me $79.32 plus tax for the new switch. I knew the technician would probably not take back the new switch so I paid him with a check and decided to come to an agreement with the boss. I called and explained the situation but the boss was not available. The secretary or manager said the boss had agreed to give me a 15% discount on the total bill. The discount was $29.87 The switch priced out at $79.32 plus $6.30 tax. So effectively, the $85.65 switch that I didn't need cost me $55.78.
Description of Work: I had replaced a burned out burner and it would not work, so I had this company come see why it would not work. The first technician came to the house about 5 days after I called. Could not find out why it would not work so decided it must be the control switch. It had to be ordered and the lead time was about a week to ten days. The day before the appointment to install the switch, he called and said it had come in broken and had to be reordered. Another week or ten days later, the fellow came over and the new switch did not cure the problem. More troubleshooting and finally determined by comparing the burned out burner with the one I had installed that two pins were not the same on the new burner. So, after switching the two wires, the burner worked.

Due to the fact that this is from 2008 and I had no idea people could get on a website and complain about a company and the company not be notified by mail or e-mail, I can't comment. I have no paperwork from 2008 to look at and see what happened. I don't know why someone would complain on a website when all they had to do was call us and we would have tried to work something out.
