Ikard Septic Tank Installations

Some of the value of this work is the advice that Mr. Ikard provided before even coming to the house. Based on his advice, we secured the permit and inspection. They arrived as scheduled and went right to work pumping the tank. The inspector changed some of the planning of the field lines and they quickly adjusted. They trenched across much of the back yard. They secured a final inspection and began covering their lines and sealing the tank. After spreading the excess dirt and power raking, the job was completed in 7 hours. Exactly as promised.

I had an alarm going off on my septic system which others didn?t want to come out to deal with. Clayton came out the same day I called and took the time to see if he could figure out the problem. He took his time and found that the problem was with some poor craftsmanship by the original installer. He fixed the problem using quality products which should have been used originally. He then took the time and cleaned out the filter and checked the rest of my system. Clayton has earned all my future business, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good septic company! I wish I had called them 1st.

I called in the morning and had an appointment at 3 in the afternoon of the same day. I checked the $450 price with some folks at work and it matched well with what others have paid. Their responsiveness is fantastic however they weren't there when the appointment time came. I began to get a bit anxious since I live on an oddly named street which is often misspelled. After about 30 minutes I called to see what was going on and found out the crew was still out on another job and would be by me when they were finished. A little after 4 I had a call from the main office - the crew was in the subdivision but couldn't find my street. I gave them directions then waited outside. A few minutes later they pulled into my street but stopped at the house accross from me. They had the wrong house number. We straightened that out and they came over to take care of the work. I showed them where I thought the cover for the septic tank is, and they took it from there. It took about an hour all together to dig out and open the cover, pump the tank and rinse down the sides, close the cover and fill in the hole, and clean up behind them. Someone should have called to tell me they'd be late. And, they need to install a GPS in their truck or make sure someone has a smartphone with mapping. Other than that I have no issues with the work that was done or the way things were left. This is a good crew and if they're still around when I need the tank pumped again there's a good chance they'll be the ones I call.

Before I selected a company to pump out my septic tank, I consulted Angie’s List and reviewed septic tank pumping services. In addition to the comments I read on the businesses that pump septic tanks, I included these facts for selecting Ikard's Septic Tank Manufacturing and Sales Inc. 1. They have been in business since 1965. Now that’s experience! 2. They have an A+ rating with the North Alabama Better Business Bureau 3. They were able to accommodate my schedule and do the work on a Saturday With newer residential septic tanks, it’s possible to use a shovel to access the tank’s lid. However, our septic tank was installed in 1983, is made of concrete, and is approximately 3 feet by 5 feet in size. Based on this information, Ikard’s knew that the lid would be heavy and in addition to the truck for pumping the septic tank, they also sent a mini excavator to dig up the area where the lid is, to lift the lid from the septic tank, and to reposition the lid after the septic tank was pumped. They arrived 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time, scoped out the work site, and based on my “I believe the septic tank is somewhere in this area” located the septic tank. From beginning to end, the job took about 90 minutes. I am pleased with their service. If a mini excavator has to be used to dig up and remove your septic tank lid, after the tank has been pumped, the lid has been replaced and the dirt moved back onto the septic tank lid, be prepared for some yard restoration work. You’ll need to remove some rocks, spread about a cubic yard of topsoil, and plant some grass in the excavation area. If you have a newer septic tank that won’t require an excavator, just a few bags of topsoil and a small bag of grass seed should suffice just fine.

Showed up on time, was knowledgeable did the job in good time, killed a spot in the grass with hydralic fluid hard packed the dirt back in the trenches going to have to till it up plant back grass.

Clayton and his crew did an outstanding job installing our new septic field line system. He was prompt courteous and efficient. The county required that our new field lines be 20 inches or less below grade which was above the outlet from the septic tank. As a result, Clayton had to install a tank and pump to raise the effluent to the level of the field lines. Clayton also changed our washer waste water lines to go into the septic tank and thru the system improving efficiency. He also added collars to the entry points on the tanks to ease access the next time the tank requires pumping. Adding the collars and adding access covers will reduce my costs later. After the work was done and inspected by the county, Clayton backfilled the exposed lines and took great care to ensure that the yard was level. I was very impressed with the quality and professionalism of Ikard Septic Tank Service and have recommended their services to others.

Overall my experience with Ikard was good. I noticed my toilets were gugling and called them to pump my septic tank. I was quoted a price over the phone. The price seemed a little high to me, but I wasn't really in a position to argue because I needed it done. They came out the day I called. They pumped it quickly and explained the process to me. They were professional and nice. Overall it was more than worth the money.

Called for estimate. Was given a thorough estimate over the phone - there was an additional fee and it was fully explained upfront. Guys came out that afternoon and quickly took care of cleaning the septic tank.

Purchased a foreclosure and the Septic Lines were not functioning properly. Worked with the local health department and Ikard's to determine the best resolution. They were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. Personally, I shopped around and got price quotes and spoke with three different companies.

The bank let me know at the very last minute that I needed a visual inspection of the septic. Ikard's Septic was there within just a few hours and had a report to the bank before noon the same day. I called in to request a quote and possibly set an appointment for Ikard to come to our house. The weather had been very rainy and was cold, and we really needed the tank pumped. They quoted me $350 and said they could come that afternoon, which was awesome news. The two men who arrived were polite and professional. Our tank was not easily found and they had to do a considerable amount of digging to find the lid to the tank -- in the cold and wet. I appreciated their effort greatly! Once they found the tank, they were able to quickly pump it out and finish the job. Despite the significant amount of labor involved in finding the tank, there was no increase in price. I fully intend to contact them again in the future to handle any other services we may need on our septic tank. Thanks Ikard!!

Very responsive. Punctual. Located and dug the ground up to access the tank. They accidentally dropped the plug in the tank, but then again, those things are very heavy and I ended up with a new plug at no cost to me. I would definately use this company again. The technicians were on time, very nice, and took thetime to educate me on my septic system.

Called on Monday for an appointment and they said they could come the next day at 1100. Price would be $400 and we could pay with cash, check or credit card. We just moved into this house and were not sure of the last septic tank servicing and didn't want any surprises so we established a baseline by getting it pumped out. Charles showed up about 1050 on Tuesday and explained what he would be doing. He opened the hatch on the septic tank and explained what he observed. He said our water level was correct and that the crust on the top indicated that the tank was indeed ready for pumping. He said there was an indication that some kitchen grease was being sent down the drain and that we should be careful. Charles also asked if I was putting anything into the tank and I said I was putting RidX in at the beginning of each month. He said to stop that as it can cause the crust to increase and that there were enough bacteria and enzymes in the waste to take care of the breakdown of material. He said if I wanted to put anything in, to put in a little yeast (one time). He positioned the truck and carefully laid his hose out. I should have mentioned to Ikard on the phone that I had a long haul but he had just enough hose to make it there from the street. He broke up the crust as he began to suck out the tank and worked on getting that taken care of before taking the tank down to the bottom. Charles recommended that I look at getting our riser repaired sometime in the near future as it appeared that it was not in good shape and could cause a safety problem. It was close to 100 degrees outside and Charles did a great job in the heat. He carefully rolled up the hoses so no spilling occured either on my lawn or in the street. A real professional! I would call on Ikard again for any septic tank needs. (I will call for a quote on a new riser and baseplate.) I found them via Angie's list and was surprised that they came from pretty far away to do service here in Decatur. Great experience.

I called on Monday morning to ask for a price quote, was told it was $370. In scheduling an appointment they said they could be at my home that afternoon approximately 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM. They had not arrived by 2:30 PM so I called and they said they were still coming but had been held up at an earlier job. They did arrive quickly found the septic tank. It appeared that the tank had never been pumped before it took some time for them to remove the cap. In replacing the cap it fell through the opening, they then placed a riser on the tank. My final price was just as quoted at $370.

Great service, good explanation of what and why they were doing it. Gave me options of riser or no riser. I chose more expensive for easier access in the future. Very professional and did what they said they would for the price. Would use them again.

Ikard Septic Tank came to our home to pump our septic tank. We called him in the morning and he made an appointment the same afternoon which was very convenient for us. He arrived within the specified time frame and began to look for the tank. It took him a little while to find the tank (he should have listened to my wife's directions that the tank was in the front yard). Once he had the right area he quickly found the tank and proceeded to dig up the dirt covering the tank's top. After digging the hole he drained the tank of all its contents. He finished the task well within the time frame promised.

They were great! They came the next day after the initial call to look at it. They then came the next day and did the job within a few hours. They were very efficient and courteous. They went above and beyond. I would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.
