When all is said and done, AFTER they returned to address a punch list of issues, things are worse and there is not one single surface that they touched that doesn't require rework. Most walls have areas (some small, some large) without paint, several walls have inadequate paint so that pencil marks on the sheetrock show through, gloppy caulk, paint drips, paint spilled on carpet, paint splatters on hardwoods, ceiling paint on walls, trim missing, damaged trim re-used, most areas of old sheetrock had no skim coat applied before painting (despite what contract specified), pitted sheetrock mud (where bubbles were created during application), uneven paint lines where walls meet ceilings, uneven/lumpy sheetrock joints, on and on. The crew used our tools to do their work, they used a brand new cooktop as a sawhorse, they left the property unsecured when they left, they nailed a pocket door open, they did not use provided hardware to install appliance, what else do you need to know? Although the business development person for the company (contractor's wife Connie) was apologetic, she readily accepted and IMMEDIATELY negotiated the check for payment in full -- no offer to adjust their invoice to reflect the fact that so much of the job wasn't done or done right. Her only offer was to send their inept crews back out to do more poor work. Meanwhile, the owner (Mark) was simply defensive and arrogant about legitimate critiques of his company's work. I gave them a week before posting this to see if they'd follow up with me to address their various failures, but they did not. So disappointed that after spending so much money for "quality" work, we have so much to re-do, and some of which can't be repaired without tearing out and starting over. This work is amateur level at best -- and frankly, I've seen amateurs do better work. No attention to detail, and to top it all off, they left the garage filled with trash from their efforts.
