Before I get into it, lets face it. We hire a professional because we want the job done right. What is important to most people I would say are quality of the job, and service after the job. It is so easy to look at a freshly painted surface and give a good review, but the real test should be will the guy stand up and back his work? I had Pope Painting do an Epoxy job on my garage floor. I do not park my car in the garage and wanted a nice floor so I could but my table, chairs, and recliner in the Garage. I am not an expert so I trusted them to do the job right. Ken's crew did the job and it looked nice. After a while I began to get blisters and the paint began to peel right off the floor. When they did the work they washed the floor which had no oil or any stains of any kind with an acid wash to get the floor ready to paint. After the wash they put a fan to blow the garage floor, and went to lunch. After a couple of hours they were ready to put down the Epoxy as they said the floor was dry. In short they did the job and it looked good. A good review at this point would have been very premature. After the paint began to peel I called and left a series of polite messages. After my first call I thought he was busy and made the mistake of referring him to my neighbor. Ken answered my neighbors calls but ignored my calls. Ken did my neighbors job and all I can say about that is after it was done I had to apologize to my neighbor for recommending him, but that is another review for another day. I continued to call Ken and over a period of two months and about 6 calls he never had the courtesy to return my calls, even after a a referral. I learned that in order to Epoxy a floor correctly it must be acid washed and let stand to dry over a period of 24 to 48 hours. To Ken Pope's crew about three hours long was enough. At this point I would have still been happy to get a call back and work something out to fix it, but Ken Pope continued to ignore all calls. I guess the question would come up about why I gave him one star? The answer would be because I could not give him no stars. In my opinion and based on my knowledge of Ken Pope I would warn people to beware of ken Pope Painting. If you read reviews be sure to read experiences where someone needed him after the job. If you ask me I would have to say that he lacks the ethics and responsibility to be hired.
