WARREN PROPERTIES

Description of Work: I actually leased a townhouse from Warren properties. At end of lease they came over for the final walk thru. I had paid $500.00 dep at time of signing the year lease. I also paid a $500 pet dep refundable. There was a small singe on the living room carpet about an inch wide and ten inches long in a half moon shape; the living room was approximately 25 sq ft. With and offset for dining area about half that size. One big room. Mrs. Warren said that she couldn't even tell that a cat lived there. But when she looked at the little singe she said that the carpet have to be replaced. At that te mr. Warren said it could be pieced in. I know this can be done very easily because my son who owns a lot of rental properties has repaired carpet like that many times. The same carpet was in the closet located in that very room which could be used. However when I called about my deposits mrs. Warren told me that it would be approximately $150.00. I was shocked. She said they had to replace the whole room for it to match! They even took part of my deposit which was not stated in the lease. I asked for a copy of the receipt and I received one from a contractor with one price but no labor or cost of carpet listed. I could've sued for the return of my full pet deposit. It just was not worth the time and effort. I'm glad I can worn others about warren properties lease agreement. They're swindlers in my book. Nobody lived there but my cat and me. That townhouse was immaculate when they came for the walk thru. She told me they didn't charge me for painting!! Those walls didn't need painting. I kept any marks cleaned right away. I'm still a little upset because I resent the fact that they are probably worth millions and they used me and my deposits to rèplace old carpet that was there in the first place. They do have nice properties and can wooooo you in the beginning but please be very aware of the business side. A refundable pet dep is just that. It should be so they can find a way to keep all of it over such a small thing. I will never do business W them and I've told all my family and friends so they can spread the word.
