I was given a quote by MPE(Brock) to replace a hot water heater that I supplied. The quote was given to me as 170.00 total. They came to the house and replaced the water heater in a little over a hour and charged me 614.00. This company installed my AC units in the past but after this they will not be back. That is way to much just for labor and a few pvc parts to install the heater and basically lied to. Lesson learned on my part but customer lost on theirs.

I wish I had never called them. I had a dishwasher leak, a knocking in my water lines and needed my water heater to be flushed and drained. I also needed a leaking sink faucet repaired. MPE plumber showed up in my house at the given time. I explained what the problems are and he started to look at my problems. He identified the problems I ask him if he can fix them. He told me his helper quit the company and took all his tools. He had no tools with him and needs to go back to his shop to get some tools. I gave him some of my tools to start working. The dishwasher could not be repaired. He drained the water heater, disassembled the faucet and took pictures of the parts he needed. Unfortunate, he did not have these common parts on his company truck and had to get them from the hardware store. After 50 minutes he returned with bag full of parts and installed 2 stems and washers in the faucet. He bought tools, many types of washers and gaskets. He charged me for all the parts including the tools. A Delta repair kit included stems, cup and washers cost $18.00. The total job should have taking 60 minutes. The material he charged me $140.00 which included his new tools. A good brand new Sink faucet cost on the average $120.00. The total service charge was $293.00. I regret doing business with MPE service and will NEVER call them again.

The installer did a thorough job of finding the best solution for this job. I needed two electrical circuits under the house for some pumps and dehumidifier. We found 90 amps to the HVAC and was able to use it. No extra wire pulls and a much quicker solution. Later that day I broke a Frost Free water spigot off into the ground. I dug out and then called them. in 2 hrs I was back in business and felt good about leaving home the next day for a trip. That is two ways I've use them. I also have HVAC yearly maintenence with them. So far very good and fair to work with.

It started out fine. We were talked into doing the plumbing when we didn't want it and wish we would t have done that. We still have outlets that don't work and plumbing that isn't finished. They also mismeasured the location for outlets and plumbing in our master. We had 2 contractors loom at the work and were basically told by both that we did not receive quality work.

The plumbers showed up with a broken pump so they had to leave and go buy a new one. They were unfamiliar with the new pump and had problems getting it to work. What should have taken about 1 1/2 hours took over 2 hours. Then the plumbers came in the house to wash their hands. They noticed the faucet in the laundry room didn't work properly so, without any request to do so, they took it apart to find out what was Finally they decided it could not be fixed and put it back together. Then they wanted to check the hot water in the master bath since it was the farthest from the heater. Again, with out direction to do so, they proceeded to take apart the faucet because the pressure was low. The faucet is a water fall type vessel filler and the aerator is in an odd place. The plumber said he has never seen one like that and proceeded to pry the aerator out with a screwdriver. Once again deciding nothing could be done and put it back together again. They the went to the truck to make out the invoice. 15 minutes later he brought me a bill for 3 1/2 hours. They marked the time as 1pm to 4:12pm and since they don't bill to a quarter hour they round to the half hour. At $79.00 per hour that adds up fast. Not to mention the time spent messing with the faucets and the time spent sitting in the truck writing up the invoice. On top of everything else....when I turned on the faucet in the master bath the next morning, the aerator fell out of the faucet and I have no way to fix it. Called Shoals M P E right away and they said they would send the plumber back out right away. That was 2 days ago and nothing yet!

They only sent a tech that could work on electrical and said I would need to pay another house call for a heat unit tech even though the co is heat air and electrical and I was not told this when I called. I thought she was sending someone to work on both!

I called to set up an appointment for an estimate on minor electrical repairs around my house. A technician called back and asked me to describe the problems I was having so he could give an estimate over the phone. He said he did not want to drive out here to do an estimate (I live about 30 minutes from their office). He added that their per-hour charges start when they leave their shop, not when they arrive at my house. I called the service manager to ask if this was true, and he confirmed that it was. I declined service for this reason. I have rated them an "A" for professionalism because I feel they were honest and upfront about their billing and how they perform services. Everyone I spoke with was courteous and professional, and the service manager apologized when I cancelled my appointment request. My issue is with their billing; I do not like paying a per-hour rate when I have no way of knowing when the hour starts and whether the service is impacted by conditions outside the control of myself and the technician (traffic, weather, etc.). Had they charged a flat fee for travelling to my residence, even to perform the estimate, I would have happily agreed (eg. if google, mapquest, etc. gives an estimate of 30 minutes to travel to my house, then charge a flat fee equal to half the hourly rate) . At least then I know exactly how much I am paying for them to travel to my house, and when the per-hour charges have begun.

I called to have someone come and give me a quote on several lighting fixtures and fans that I needed to have replaced. The lady said someone would call me back to set up an appointment, a week later they called back. He came out and was pleasant, we walked through, I showed him everything I wanted done and a few items that I wanted pricing on. It took a while and there was no charge for the service. So I was willing to overlook how long ot took to make the appointment. But apparently they did not need my business because I never heard from them again and a month later I called someone else to come out and do the work.

We had a great electrician come in and he did almost three hours of work. We had a less of may be thirteen things and he got them all done very well and said if we had any problems to give him a call. He was knowledgeable and he worked quickly. He seemed to be interested in saving us money wherever we could.

Do not use Tim Rhodes. I had major electrical work done when I bought my house in 2010. Recently I went in my attic and discovered that they did not rewire all of my house and they left open junction boxes. Open junction boxes are a fire hazard and are required by law to be covered. I tried to get them to come fix what they did not do in the first place. Nobody showed up to fix it the day they were supposed to. I also learned that not all the permits needed were gotten. I was told in 2010 to go get a permit to relocate my meter. Big mistake!!! The customer should never go get the permit! You see a permit is required for certain work that must be inspected by the city after the work is completed. My meter was inspected by the city. Nothing else was inspected. Because I went to get the permit the city told me I was at fault for not getting a permit to rewire my house. I am not a professional electrician so how was I to know I needed to get a permit for the rewire. i got what I was told to get. This is how Tim Rhodes gets you. Nobody had to come inspect anything else so they didn't do some of what they were supposed to do. Now since it has been a year the warranty is up so they are not legally obligated to come fix anything. Spread the word please. I don't want anybody else to go through what I have been through. And never go get a permit yourself for work someone else is doing.
Description of Work: My house was built in 1956. I was supposed to have all new wiring throughout the house. All junction boxes needed to be covered. They replaced my fuse box with a new 200 Amp breaker box. They grounded all my outlets. They relocated my meter base. They were supposed to install GFCI outlets where they were needed. When u rewire or do any major alterations to a houses electrical it is supposed to be done to the National Electrical Code adopted by your jurisdiction. The 2002 NEC is the one adopted by the city of Florence.
