Hired company to: remove old grass, prepare ground for new sod (no matter what it took to do that), clear wood's edge of weeds, and lay pinestraw around edges for plantings. Owner came out to bid the job said he was a professional, he new what I wanted, and they could do the job. The two owners arrived 5/28/10. Upon their arrival I tried to go out and go over what was to take place. The tall owner did not want me out there or asking any questions, he immediately told me that "you worry too much, we are professionals, and we will handle this". He repeated this to the point that the other owner of the company stated "I am the one with the charm". I tried to confirm what was going to be done, along with letting them know about existing french drain, & electric lines that run underground, but tall owner would not listen. Later that day (after paying) I walked into the backyard finding the grass high here, low there, and clearly not graded properly. I called several landscape companies to find out if this would be typical, their reply: not only not typical but that I that I had been severly overcharged for this job. I called owner several times, he called back very angry telling me I had disturbed his dinner party and that there was no way anything was wrong with the job they had done, then hung up in my face. He called later that evening asking me to call the other owner. (this is the one with charm as had previously been stated) Called other owner, he wanted to know what my husband did for a living for some reason, then finally agreed to come back out with a roller and try to temp down and level some of the high areas and build up the low. To his credit he did arrive when he said he would & used the roller etc. as described. Husband came home from work finding the electrical lines cut, the grade of dirt too high against house, hence the need now for either a french drain or have someone else come out, remove all grass and have the land graded properly and new sod put down. Called owner about the electrical as soon as problem was discovered. Owner will not return my phone calls. Bottomline: $1300.00 spent, we now have to spend $350.00 for electric, $500.00 for french drain to be dug at back of house where it wasn't needed before, gravel cost, delivery cost, with no accountability by owners of company.
