Description of Work: Dan and Ben sanded and painted (lacquered) our kitchen cabinets, reconfigured some of them and built new cabinets in the dining area to match the old. They also handled some wall painting and other related items. They were conscientious, diligent and very responsive to our requests, and they worked will with the granite and appliance installers. Dan was faithful to his estimate, carefully accounted for change items, and billed in stages, so there were no issues regarding cost. They were always friendly and easy to communicate with, heck, even our dog liked them.

 + 0 moreHe has been in business for a really long time, and he knows what he is talking about. He knew what we wanted. We just needed to get the condo back into rentable shape, so he had a lot of good ideas for us to save money. We never got the impression from him that he would rip us off or anything. We thought like he was going to be really fair. We would him again in the future. We ended up going with somebody else, but he would have been our second choice. We just went with another company, but there is no particular reason why we went with them.
Description of Work: We met with the guy from Restoration Style in mid February of 2012. It was about doing renovation on a rental property that we own in Mobile. He just quoted us. He didn’t give the service. It was for a 2-bedroom townhouse that needed to be completely renovated. It had to be pretty much totally gutted and redone.

Description of Work: Dan did a complete remodel of a lower portion of house including two bathroom remodels. The work was of good quality. The biggest thing that stands out with Dan is his prompt response to getting things done. He is onsite and working hands on most times. If something needs to be adjusted or dealt with he is right on top of it. I have a lot of experience in this field and his professionalism is right at the top. You would be well served to use Dan for any job big or small. I am not a friend or relative of Dan's. I have been an avid user of Angie's for a few years now and own many rental properties. I wonder about reviews sometimes and if they are positive just because of relationship. Not the case here. Dan did a great job, very happy and will use him again.

 + 2 moreextremely well. Dan is an experienced contractor relocated recently from Detroit where the imploding economy all but wrecked his business of 25 years. He shows up at 830 as arranged, has all the tools, works the entire day and cleans the work area nightly. There were some problems (shut off valve on sink inoperative for example) that had to be worked on and only an experienced contractor could handle this. Tile had to be matched to avoid gaps, he did this work extremely well. His painting was high quality. He kept me informed of equipment purchases necessary and gave me receipts after getting permission to go to Home Depot to get items. The job took 7 days and there were no major delays. I might also add that I had no problem at all with leaving the house for extended periods while he was alone and working. Dan is a professional and I consider myself iucky to have found him for this job. I highly recommend him.
Description of Work: The job was a bathroom remodeling with a complete painting, replacement of an aged built in vanity with a new (large and expensive) one, replumbing the sinks, removal of old lights and installation of new, replacement of broken ceiling vent/heater and tile matching since the old vanity was a different size than the replacement. Additionally a new diverter and shower head was installed in the shower

 + 4 moreWe were thrilled with Dan's professionalism! He was polite and neat and each day he cleaned up his work area before leaving it. My husband is very meticulous and this is only the second carpenter we've met that can meet his standards. After Dan finished the kitchen, wall units, fireplace mantel, and bathroom, we found ourselves looking for more things on our "to-do" list for him because we didn't want to let him go! He can do just about anything and everything ends up perfect. He is such a good listener, asking many questions to be very sure he knew what we wanted. When we asked for his design advice, he came up with some spectacular ideas we hadn't even thought of. We also appreciated the little things, like the care he took to protect our budget, the way he was so kind to our pets (who also adored him!), the sense of humor he had, and his non-threatening, classy demeanor. We had no problem giving him a key to the house or having him working there with my elderly mother at home. Especially if you are a single woman, this is the guy for you to hire, as you won't be ripped off or harmed. It's not easy to find someone like that and I wanted to be sure to share him with as many people as I can.
Description of Work: We hired Dan Evon to finish and correct a troubled, partially done renovation. He actually had to MAKE matching doors and drawer fronts for several units in the kitchen and if you were to visit, you'd never guess which ones they were. He did excellent tile work, crown moldings and trims, window and door frames, drywall repair, and flooring. He built a library unit on one wall of our family room and created a fireplace mantel. He completed a partially-done bathroom project, removed a wall in a storage area, created and built a recessed bookcase, using cherry bead board and fluted trims. He made three cherry fluted columns to match. When he finished the contracted work for us, we then handed him our to-do list and he finished that one up as well. He apparently can do just about anything involved with a home. He's helping us stage another home for sale. Dan has over 25 years' experience with home renovations and finish carpentry. He has won awards for his high-end kitchen design and installations. The last house he "flipped" was featured on the cover of Better Homes and Gardens. His work has also been published in Woman's Day magazine, among others. I feared that someone that good would be out of my range in afford-ability, but he worked with us on costs and ideas and we found him to be just absolutely perfect for our needs. Our Dan Evon projects are stunning and we absolutely couldn't be happier. He listened to our dreams, understood what we wanted perfectly, made awesome suggestions, and made it all happen. What more could you ask for?

Furniture was always replaced if had to be moved. Over all, every thing went perfect. Would definitely recommend them and plan to have them remodel my family room and also a complete garage makeover.
Description of Work: Restoration Style did many things for my house. Complete kitchen makeover, built custom cabinetry, painted to match existing cabinets, ceramic tile back splash, kitchen plumbing, installed new electrical fixtures, installed new hardware, entry door hardware, plaster repair and painting, and installed new bi fold doors. Custom fireplace mantles. Next, Dan did a custom fireplace mantel with decorative moldings, marble hearth and surround and custom lacquer paint finish, with custom marble window seat to match. Interior and exterior painting, complete interior painting, plaster repairs. Hardware. Installed new hardware through out the house, door knobs, hinges, cupboard pulls and all entry dead bolts and locks.
