We were building a house and needed a substantial structure to support the overhanging granite countertop on our kitchen island. We wanted something unique and decided to check out Iron and Canvas Workshop. Joe Strange was very nice to work with and helped us design a beautiful yet simple Celtic cross. He put our combined ideas into a CAD drawing on his computer so we could design it exactly as we wanted it. He built a support with the cross design on each end and installed it under the island overhang. We liked it so much that we modified it slightly and had Joe build a newel post for our stairs. In December we modified a sectional sofa, so we called Joe for a metal channel to use for putting the sofa back together. Now we are having him make a special bracket for a mirror we want to suspend a few inches from the wall (because of its location). No problem for Joe Strange. If you have a pretty good idea as to what you want and can describe it to Joe, he can build it. If you pay his required deposit to cover his materials, he will be able to start your project pretty quickly. If you have a real time crunch, as sometimes happens during construction, he will work with you the best he can. If you do your homework on the front end designing on paper and in the computer what you want before he builds it, you will not be disappointed. After the fact, modifications in wrought iron are very costly and time-consuming, if even possible. Talk to Joe. He will listen and give you good advice for a reasonable price. Our repeat business with him for different projects over the past six months is our testimony to his faithful service.
