Disaster- has taken over five weeks, still not finished. Paid $2000 and I bought the tile - feel totally ripped off on the materials portion of the bill (which I asked for hardcopies and not produced). Told him to bring me the materials I had paid for to complete the job as I have hired someone else so I can get the house on the market and leave town- and a refund check for the labor I was billed for to complete the job. So far.. nothing.36532
Description of Work: I have used Housecall in the past but this last project is my last. Was charged appx $2000 to tile 50sq' in a small shower and hang a door. I purchased the door and the tile. FIVE weeks later the project is still not finished... asked for hardcopy receipts and breakout of the hours since $2000 is ridiculous... not supplied. I was an idiot to pay without receiving them nor the job being finished but as I had used Housecall before, even though I definitely felt like I was being ripped off, I paid. I had had to have the tub glazer rescheduled because of how long this was taking, the house is being prepped to place on the market and every day it is delaying going in the market costs me money. I told Bill last week the house would be unlocked all day everyday so someone could come in to complete the job. He told me he couldn't schedule the job to be completed this coming because he couldn't reach me. I think it is more because he has new work and he since he has my money, he can schedule the fresh work this week and come back to my job when he is slack. The brand new door was miscut- there is a gap at the top where you see daylight between the door and the frame. The showerhead was leaking so I removed it to discover no Teflon tape. I applied the Teflon tape and it somewhat fixed the problem.. now I wonder if it is defective but since it was not properly installed nor checked, now the packaging has been tossed and I guess I have to live with it. Never ever again!

Project took much longer than initially projected. Well over budget. Contractor hired spent little time overseeing the project. Days went buy where little progress was made despite two workers present all day. We were charged for long lunches and travel time. Workers present half day while we were charged for a full day. The end product left us feeling we had spent too much.
Description of Work: Remodel upstairs bathroom including new fixtures, tile, tub, toilet, wainscoting, two vanities and lighting.
