Per our home warranty contract New Era as a contractor to them is supposed to call us within 24-48 hrs to schedule service but he did not this first time. I ended up calling him and leaving a message. I cut him some slack my wife didn't) thinking it might be a real busy time of year but when it's hot and you're best option is to camp out on the back deck I tend to get a little annoyed. He ended up being called back 3 times over the period of a month to try to find a leak that caused us to be without AC for half the days out of a 30 day period Sep. to Oct. He came and refilled the coolant several times, ran pressure tests, and was pleasant to speak to, overall a very nice guy. But the problem was never fixed properly. After trying to get him back again, he stopped responding to calls from me or the warranty company so they ended up sending a different contractor out who spotted the problem immediately and fixed it quickly. The faulty part was a rusted filter that I pointed out to the New Era guy on his first visit because it was rusted to the point of the paint completely falling off. Somehow this didn't show up in the pressure tests or leak detections he performed. I'm not sure if his equipment was faulty or he didn't have the experience to assess the situation correctly, but his biggest fault in the end was his lack of responsiveness to calls from me or the warranty company in the end. He completely disappeared. I doubt the warranty company will use him again. The cost was only $100 because that's the deductible on our home warranty. If we had to pay him out of our own pocket, this review would be much harsher.
Description of Work: Used New Era as part of my home warranty contract. He was assigned to us when our AC went out during a hot part of September-October.

Jamie was professional and very pleasant. He was chosen by our home warranty company Old Republic, and although he was very busy and somewhat hard to get a hold of on the phone, he came after hours at 6:30 pm to check our AC. He explained that it was a little low on coolant, but not by much and how that could cause it to be warmer and freezing up. He answered all questions and was very helpful. Despite being a hot 96 degree day and having a long day still ahead of him playing catch up, he was never irritated or seemed rushed. He said he loves residential work and does all work himself. He loves what he does and had a great attitude.
Description of Work: He came by to check why our AC was not getting cold enough and the lines were freezing up.
