After dropping the computer off at the business, I received a phone call approximately 4 days later stating the the computer needed a new motherboard. They could not tell me how much it would cost because if this or that happened it would be an extra charge. I was told anywhere from about $35 to $185. At this point, I asked well what about the hard drive. The response was apparently he forgot to check it. So after waiting approximately another week, they called and said I would have to send my external hard drive to one of their places to have the magnetic strips removed for my information to be recovered. This would cost a minimum of $500.00. I then proceeded to pick up both items without any work because I would figure something else out. The next day, I purchased a new computer since it was about the same cost as having the old one fixed. I then gave my old computer to my father-in-law who is retired and is not a computer repair tech. He checked it and replaced the hard drive in it within 24 hours and it was working perfectly. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the motherboard, it was actually the hard drive. He then ordered a program online for about $10 and began working on my external hard drive. (By the way, the tech had taken the hard drive out of its case and did not replace it and did not send all the parts back to me.) My father-in-law, with this $10 program, had my external hard drive recovered within 2 days of me dropping it off with him. Save yourself a lot of time, headaches and possibly a lot of money for nothing by not doing business with this company. They do not appear to have any idea about what they are doing.
