Locwood Design

We initially hired Tim Schroeder as an architect to design and give us a blueprint of our project. The design, when finished, was exactly what we had in mind, plus details that we would have only thought of "after the fact." We then got a quote for the construction from Locwood Design and several others and found that Locwood Design gave us the most fair quote. They put in their quote every detail, such as gutters, water spigot, and outside lights, whereas others didn't include these details that would make it perfect and complete. Tim and his sons, Steve and Dan, did most of the work, with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing and brick laying being subcontracted out. Tim selected very polite and professional subcontractors that did outstanding work. Tim or Steve kept close tabs on the subcontractors, making sure that all work was done to exacting standards. The entire addition of about 1000+ sqft took less than 4 months. Steve made sure our yard was picked up of all debris and went the extra mile in installing a dog door and laying sod. They were all very detail oriented. Steve even put up framed plastic to make sure minimal dust would enter our existing house. Also it kept air conditioning in the house. I can't say enough about the Schroeders. They were always pleasant and extremely hard working, checking and rechecking the work. They were flexible in the changes that we decided to make (for example, we decided we wanted a larger patio than was originally planned). They also remembered details that I noted on the initial consultation, such as a single handle faucet in the bath, European handles on the doors and scrubable paint. I never felt I had to remind them of any detail. They took care of everything! Tim thought ahead, too, remembering that we had mentioned wanting a salt water pool in the future. He selected fixtures that would resist corrosion from the salt and made sure that the slope of the yard would not adversely affect a pool. When our project was complete, we felt our dream house was perfect, thanks to Tim, Steve, and Dan.
