We called Daniels heating and cooling to have our old unit cleaned we been here two years and the unit was old and our cha maintenance man moved, so we had them to take over, anyway Tim/Jim we can’t remember his name anyway he talked about a great deal he can offer us with a new unit, free cleaning and told us about the warranty which was 5 yrs full if motor compressor or parts went out, and after that five more of parts first, anyway we had Tim/Jim come out for maintenance of the unit, 89 each time, anyway he offered another deal 150 a yr if paid in advance ok, we bit, paid him, we the next summer he never showed 2020, so we looked and looked and came across the company number instead of using the business card, we were told that this guy no longer works for them that he was stealing and short changing them, hmm wonder why Daniels never called us to tell us or sent a letter, oh well, Daniels came out w3 had to pay 89 again so we lost 150. Ok, not even a week and the unit stopped cooling, well we call again, they came out this time removing panels and actually cleaned the unit, found it was frozen, ok strange. We are ones that are strict at changing filters and making sure no dust gets in the return even to the part of vacuuming it out, so I asked was told they sometimes do this, ok, but told the man, we don’t run the unit hard, we keep summer temps at 76 and winter at 66, and even turn the system off in spring or fall when temps are mild. We went ahead and excepted the answer, still thought it to be funny that we never had a issue with any unit we owned and our units were over 25 yrs old, always changed filters 30-40 days and we didn’t use the cheap ones Ok So summer went by the system never cooled like it use to, even told them that but was I blown off, and now fall came, we turned off the unit as we always have, opened windows and closed them when temps dropped below 65 Now End of Nov we turned on the unit, after changing our filters making sure the unit intake was cleaned, not two days in the unit woke me up, it would turn on then turn off all night long, I even got up turned the unit down to 64 in hopes it would stop the on and off cycle, it didn’t so I turned it off and call Daniels heating and cooling first thing in the morning, was told by the wife or whoever she is Molly that this was a defrost cycle and normal, but why defrost when it’s not under 60 outside? She told me if it stopped working to call her, anyway it continued to do so and each time I talked she said the same thing. Well dang. I’m 58 and never ever had this problem and thought strange for a new unit again.. well mid Dec and we left for our Yearly vacation to the in-laws we set the thermostat at 58 and left, returned home Jan 2, house was 67 mild temps durning the week so I read, unloaded the truck, unpacked fed the kids and set the thermostat at 66 and we went to bed, well the next morn8n* I awoke to a nippy home, I checked the temp at it showed 61 our thermostat was set at 66 yet no heat, so I checked the breaker and nothing it was not turned off, so I turned off the thermostat waited a few minutes then turned it on, nothing, so I called, texted and even msg through FB, no answer which to me was strange since someone always answered, was told later sorry for the inconvenience that they were out of town and if needed for me to call someone else to look at it, well I did there are four children here the youngest being 7. So we needed it especially since the temps are suppose to drop into the 30s tonight, we’ll eco came out, and told us after looking that the compressor went out, after I explained my experience of the summer and mid nov the worker was shocked, he stated that the compressor shouldn’t have went out especially being only three yrs old, that they last 10-12 yrs and then stated that the noise was a sure sign of something going wrong and it could of been fixed. Then he told me warranty will pay for compressor but not shipping nor labor or Freon that I’ll be paying 800.00 I’m like what! No, we were told warily covered everything for the first five yrs so with that I called Bryant of Canada since this is where there plant and home office is, I was told the same thing about the noise, so after telling them everything they said they’ll do a follow up with me to see if their dealer will back up what they told us. Well we called and msg Daniels and we’ll Molly yelled at me, started to argue, I hung up, I’m too old to take that type of abuse and she only called after I posted my experience on their Facebook page, she called again said yes we have ten yrs then stated that both the Bryant ppl and eco were wrong about the defrost cycle, I’m like wait a minute Bryant even stated this, and where is your 24 hr service that you advertise she’s like we do but we have only one person and a new one who can’t look at it alone. She’ll have her husband come out when they ge5 back, then I noticed they removed me and blocked me from commenting on their page, so I’m here now, typing my experience in hopes it helps ppl from making a big mistake, The owner called back told me it will cost 800 or more to fix, I’m like I had witnesses my roofer and handyman who both were present when your ppl said full warranty for five yrs and after that five more for parts yet now you’re trying to screw me, I’m now in fear that I’ll have to sue them and trust I will, so ppl just because you see five positives look at who they are, they are ppl that know them and even work for the: or had worked for them. Beware of the click and bait.
