I live in Florida. My elderly uncle, who lives in Adamsville, Alabama, needed some grab bars installed in his shower after he was released from Rehab after a fall. He did not know who to call for this job. He's concerned about getting ripped off and didn't know who to trust. After our phone conversation I googled "Handyman near Adamsville, AL" and saw Home Advisor as one of the results. Since I have my own handyman here in Florida, I completely forgot about Home Advisor even after all the TV commercials I've seen. On Thursday evening I searched Home Advisor and got Bruce Electric as the referral. Bruce does way more than electric. He is an all around handyman. His reviews were great so I made the inquiry. Bruce contacted me the next morning. I explained to him that this was for my elderly uncle, not for myself. He said he would be happy to help and he would be able to do the job right away. I spoke to my uncle yesterday (Friday) afternoon and gave him Bruce's number and told him I found Bruce on Home Advisor. I told my uncle that Bruce had good reviews and I had spoken to Bruce and he did not have to worry about getting cheated. My uncle said he had just seen a Home Advisor commercial the day before and didn't even think about contacting you. I gave my uncle Bruce's number and Bruce came out this morning (Saturday) and took care of the job. He came to the house and measured the shower walls, went to Home Depot and purchased the items for the job and came back and did the job right away, as well as one other small thing my uncle needed. I just called my uncle to see how Bruce did. My uncle said he did a great job. He did everything he said he would do. He said Bruce was very respectful, professional, nice, courteous and honest. Bruce cleaned up after the job was complete. My uncle was very pleased with Bruce's work and said he will call Bruce again for any future work that he may need to have done. Uncle Kenneth was also happy to hear that Bruce lives nearby. Although I initiated this job from 500 miles away, it went smoothly and the job was completed about 40 hours after I made the inquiry.
