I wish there was a proper way of responding to reviews of our work such as these. I simply want to address some very important points that are being made here. First of all, White Shovel does not charge $220 per hour, we are a project company. Which means that we agree on a total price for the work to be done no matter how long or how short the job is going to be. We create exact layouts, showing you exactly whats going to be done. The pictures we create are clearly for your benefit, so you can see different ideas, and ways of laying out your landscape. When we meet with you the first time, we are there to discuss different things that you might like, and plants that you prefer over others. We then go back and create ideas on actual photos of your home. This is a very exciting process, and (of course) we don't always just use the stuff that you mentioned. As it is an idea phase, we want to make sure that you have a bunch of different ideas. However, we do create an idea that uses as many plants as we can use from the selection of the ones that you prefer. That being said, the designers are advisers, we want you to make good decisions when it comes to plants, and trees, so we will do a great deal of work to depict something that is low maintenance, and will be beautiful for a very long time. This can sometimes be confusing if you don't understand that the designer is there to help you make good plant choices. The other thing I want to point out is, that we don't begin work until we have agreed on a price, the exact plan, and result that you are wanting to accomplish. If we send 3 guys to complete the job, with the right equipment, and they get done early, I find it hard to believe that, that would be an inconvenience to you in any way. Also if 3 guys work for 8 hours, that is a 24 hours project, if 3 guys work for 8 hours using a machine, there work time can be cut in half, meaning they are doing the work of 6 guys, in 8 hours. Also, $220 per hour, that covers all materials, equipment, labor, delivery, and a 5 year warranty on the work, hardly seems expensive. I guess I don't understand, if you ask for something to be done, and then show me how you want it done, then I quote you a price for doing it, then complete it in a timely manner, exactly to your specifications, and then some; I thought that was doing good service. Also if you paid $49 for a designer to spend 6 hours designing, and 3 hours on site with you discussing things that you like and don't like, then he delivers photo ideas, of several designs for you to choose from or critique. Then he puts together a layout that shows exactly what he plans on doing. I guess I'm confused again, because it looks like a great deal, and I really don't know what to say. Except, I'm sorry you feel that way, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience our service has caused you. Don't forget we are offering incredible deals right now on installation in the winter, a lot of people don't realize that installing in the winter can be really good, plants are dormant, and ready to be moved, and planted. The only real differance is that plants that lose their leaves in the winter will not have leaves on them in the winter :) but this can make for a beautiful spring plant. Call us and schedule today.
