carpet installation
 + -1 moreThe experience was terrible. They had to come back and fix the carpet because the installers didn't do a very good job the first time. When he came back, we moved a curio cabinet out of the way and when he was fixing the carpet he knocked it over and broke it. I ended up taking them to small claims courts and they won because I helped him move it because he came by himself. It ended up costing me another $2,000. I would recommend dealing with them.
Description of Work: I bought carpet from Rock Bottom Carpets and they installed it.

carpet installation
 + -1 moreThe experience started out very well, but once the carpet was installed I felt that my concerns were never looked at seriously. After contacting the company several times I was basically told there was nothing that could be done. Carpet that should have lasted 10 or 15 years did not last even six months. It is still in my home, but it has unraveled and now has holes and will have to be replaced as soon as I can afford to do so.
Description of Work: Initially the experience was professional. I bought carpet that was more expensive than I originally intended, but I loved the color and pattern and I explained to the salesperson that I had medically fragile children that spent a lot of time on the floor, so I wanted the softest and most durable carpet that I could find. The carpet was installed and as the installation was progressing, I asked about the carpet being spliced together, but I was told that this was normal and would not be a problem. The seam was noticeable from the beginning, but I figured that it couldn't be helped. After a few months, (less than six), the seam started separating and the carpet was unraveling. I contacted Rock Bottom Carpets and they sent a person out within a day or two, but he told me that the carpet was a bad choice for my room and all he could do was put the seam back together with glue and a little roller. This did not fix the problem and I contacted Rock Bottom Carpet at least two more times over the next two years and I was always sent a person to "repair" the seam and finally was told that the best thing would be for me to not vacum the carpe!. Of course, that is not an option and I am still very unhappy with my experience. I will never do business with Rock Bottom Carpet again and I would advise everyone to look elsewhere for flooring.
