The appointment was scheduled right away. Serviceman came out to determine size of spring needed and type and length of tubing needed. Came back after gathering all the supplies needed and got the job done quickly.

The metal track for our garage door was completely bent and the door would not go down past that point. They promptly came out and quickly fixed the track and the door runs great now. I was so glad we wouldn't have to replace the entire frame and also pleased with how quickly they responded, and arranged to come at a time convenient to me.

My garage door opened with a great deal of shaking and noise, after we bought our house. Decatur Door Service offered an Angie's List 'Big Deal' for a garage door 'tuneup'. We took the offer. DDS showed up promptly, discovered the problem (worn rollers), and made the repairs as offered. They also checked for other problems, found them, and offered some additional services (new remote controllers) at a fair price. Overall it went great - our garage door now works perfectly, with a minimum of trouble and at a good price.

It went well. The guy did a great job. It turned out well. The only complaint is that it was a little more work than it need to be to get it scheduled.

I had an appointment scheduled for 7/3 morning and no one ever showed up or called. **This was the first no-show for my purchase through Angie's list, but my boyfriend scheduled an appointment before the Angie's list was purchased and they were also a no-show. ** I called at around 1130 after the missed appointment and they said they messed up their schedule and could make it that afternoon between 3 - 5. When they finally did call/show at 430, they did not have the rollers for replacement and thought they were only doing a tune-up (even though I paid for the tune up and roller replacement). The guy was very nice, but he said he would call me today 7/4 to come back to my house with the rollers. I just received a call from him and he said that they do not have any rollers, but they should be in tomorrow. He wanted me to call the owner Frankie and setup an appointment with him. I am not going to keep going back and forth with this company. I am requesting a refund and I will not be using their services.

I will not use them again, nor will I buy a garage door tune up.

I had an appointment in the AM on 7/9. I waited until 11:00 and then called Frankie. He appeared to have forgotten our appointment so we made another appointment for between 8 and 9 on 7/10. At 9:30 on 7/10 I called Frankie again and was told someone would be here any minute. I waited until 10:00 and was told he was at another address. Someone finally showed up at 11:00. He checked my garage door and said I was good to go.....only problem was that I had paid for an Angie's List Deal to have a garage door opener installed. This was a huge problem since I had purchased an Angie's Deal for the installation of a new garage door opener and not just a check up. The guy did not have an opener on his truck and wanted to come back on Saturday. He offered to do it even if I wasn't home, but I was very uncomfortable having work done on my home when I wasn't there. We did discover that they had the wrong address on the work order so this was partly my fault. I do feel that this mistake could have been corrected the first day if there had been better communication with this company. I canceled my request since I had totally lost faith that this company would sell me a good product and be able to do a quality installation. I'm now in the process of getting a refund. I called another company and they could do the install for $10 less than the "Angie's Deal". That was definitely disappointing since I thought a "deal" meant a reduced amount of money. I will do more homework next time for the price before assuming that because it is an Angie's Deal it will be a good price.

Decatur Door Service installed our garage door in 2001 when we built our house. After our house was hit by lightning in 2007, Decatur Door Service replaced our garage door opener. Since we had used them twice successfully in the past, we thought we would use them again for this minor job. We called Monday morning and were told someone could put a new seal on our door that week. On Wednesday morning, we called again and spoke to the same person. He said he had to order the seal, but it should be in the next day and to give him a call back. On Thursday morning, we called him back. He said the seal was definitely coming in that afternoon, so someone should be able to come out before noon on Friday. He said to call back Friday morning. (Why were we having to do all the calling?) We called back Friday morning and no one answered the phone, so we left a message. That was over a week ago, and no one has even attempted to call us back. We are very disappointed in this company for being unprofessional and wasting our time. We definitely do not recommend Decatur Door Service.

Very good. Took us a week or so to get together but once we did they got job done in a short period of time.

They came and oiled everything. There were no additional costs. I would use them again in the future.

Great overall. Responded to service schedule request promptly and were able to make the service call within 2 days. Worked quickly; answered all questions; did a little extra work on the garage door seal (which was not part of the tune-up checklist). Replaced rollers with nice, quieter version so garage door is working better than before. I would use this Service in the future if needed.

He was prompt, professional and courteous. Garage door works great now. Wish we would have called him sooner.

Completed the tune up, lubrication and adjustment of screws. It took about 5-10 minutes after waiting since 8:00 a.m. this morning. Scheduling is a major problem with this company. I trust their expertise, but I gave them a window of 8-12, then they called at 2:00 p.m. to reschedule for the next day, then called to reschedule from 3-4, then arrived at 5:30 p.m.

It was great. It was about the shortest service I've ever encountered. They were in and out within about five minutes.

The original contact back from them was quick. Then nothing. I sent two e-mails over the next few days and then finally I called them and we set up a Thursday morning and the service I wanted. They didn't show up that morning so I called them after lunch and was told that they had me scheduled for the next day. They indicated that I was mistaken about the day it was scheduled. I work on Wednesdays and Fridays so I don't schedule any projects or business on those days. When they hadn't shown up on Friday morning I called them again and was told that they had been waiting for a delivery truck to bring the parts they needed and they would be out as soon as they had it unloaded. I was not happy with the events leading up to the arrival of the person. The man did the service I requested and cleaned up when he was finished. The coupon was for $69 and it turned out it was to replace rollers in just one garage door. It cost another $60 dollars to do the second door. In all fairness the man said the owner of the business wanted him to apologize to me for the delay in getting to me. The work was fine and the doors roll up and down smoother and quieter. The disconnect in the beginning set the wrong tone but I might recommend them to friends and neighbors with the warning that in my case the communication leading up to the complete job was not satisfactory. I initially suggested three dates of when the service could be performed and they agreed to the 23rd. I followed up asking what time and didn't hear anything. I sent another message on the 20th again asking what time and didn't hear back. Here we are on the 23rd and nobody has shown up yet so I have contacted Angie's List in order to get a refund of the Big Deal purchase. I did clarify with the company that my phone number is correct, I have a Texas phone number. So if the company reached out to me and assumed that I have a local area code, then they would not have reached me. I did list the number correctly.

That was okay and was good. There was no additional charge. He went above and beyond. He replaced a few things and did not charge anything extra. I have no dislikes at all.

It did not go well at all. The repairman broke two appointments without calling. He came on the third time, 06 October. The results of that are outlined above. Services were not performed as outlined nor in a satisfactory manner. I am requesting a refund.

Responded to my house two times to repair garage door. Both times responded on a weekend which is rare for a company to do. Would recommend HIGHLY!!

IT WENT PERFECTLY.. I had vetted three other companies to do the servicing we needed. They gave me three different non-complimentarily diagnosis.Only two of them even took the trouble to look at the mechanism, When Mr. Smith of Decatur answered my phone call, I knew he was the man to service our garage door. While on thee phone he talked me through some basic tests he could use for a diagnosis. He immediately said It sounded like we had a broken spring - HE WAS SPOT ON. His facility with the way he did an diagnosis saved him a lot of time and driving. He was able to get new springs and they were exactly the correct ones. It took him about one hour to install the springs, rollers and adjust the door. Actually Mr. Smith pointed out to me that the roller bearings were worn and probably should be replaced. I agreed.

Work was fine. They did not show up for scheduled appointment and did not call. We had to reschedule.

Arrived on time. Checked out the door. Made adjustments and lubricated door

I was satisfied with the work and although further replacement of door mechanisms was suggested there was no high pressure sales pitch.

The service turned out fine. He was very efficient. He confirmed that I didn't need to get any expenditures at the time, so he was very useful. He was very prompt. He had the ability to up sell, but he was honest, he just provided the service as was ordered. He did not wear a uniform and was not carrying the right kind of tool set, and so he wasn't professional looking, but it was good service at good price.

I was concerned at first due to another person wanting to delay my service after me pre-checking to make sure the appt time would be met. The technician was on time and very friendly and professional. He even gave me advise concerning a light issue I was having on my garage door opener. I was very satisfied.
