I hired Terry to do a months-long remodel on my parents’ former home before putting it on the market. I live out of town and was not able to oversee the project personally very often but he always knew how to take my suggestions and complete each job exactly as I wanted. He was available any time I had a question or needed his assistance. Terry has a good eye for design and color, and by the time he was done that 30 year old home looked brand-new and we received multiple offers the first day it went on the market and got well above asking price!

I have learned a lot in the past two weeks about hiring contractors. I made a major mistake hiring a neighbor to install flooring for my house. He was recommended by another neighbor. The contractor quit because I complained about the mess they left on the property like cigarette butts, saw dust on my porch, using my table for a saw horse, working 3 hours a day at the most, not prepping the floor for level installation and leaving my $6k of flooring outside in rain and hot sun ruining 12 boxes. Then after quitting, he seemed to think it was okay to walk into my home, without permission, when I was not there. I had to call law enforcement to insure nothing had been stolen or damaged. I had given him $2,500 up front, which was not adjusted for his total of maybe 10 hours of shotty work. It happened to be a blessing that he quit because he did not follow any installation directions like spacing for floor contractions, using caulk instead of required silicone, using incorrect baseboards and quarter round. And to top it off, he was charging me $3,000 more than a licensed, insured, professional, and experienced installer. After he quit, I got estimates from 3 different flooring installers, one which was recommended by Floor & Decor out of Greenville. Only one floor installer professional went over the installation instructions and warranties. Not from Floor & Decor, I hired Youngblood Flooring. They weren’t the cheapest, not the most expensive, but definitely the best. After this whole nightmare with my home absolutely destroyed and in disheveled living conditions, Youngblood immediately jumped in to save the day! My floors now look amazing. They are installed properly with warranty, and it looks professional. Not just slapped in. So here’s what I hope you take away from my mistakes. Just because you know where they live and has been known as a good handyman, doesn’t mean they will do the job right. Never, ever let a contractor give you an estimate without writing down date of completion, or failure to complete job, or getting a refund for your deposit if they quit. Make sure it’s signed too. Just make sure expectations are in writing. A written estimate may be considered a contract so don’t sign it ever. Contracts should be explanatory for scope of work, costs, completion time, and expectations of yours and their’s responsibilities. Also if they can have access to your property. Always get multiple quotes and question them about the installation instructions to see if they know what they are doing. Never trust 3rd party installers from big box stores. The big box will not take any responsibility for their recommendation. If you have hired a contractor and you see signs of them disrespecting your property, shotty work, or not putting in a full days work, you probably better get another contractor. Get a copy of their insurance and bonding should you need to file a claim against them. Thanks for letting me rant, but I know there are people out there that have or might be in the same situation. I hope you can learn from my mistakes. I see people on here all the time asking for recommendations. Beware! However, I would highly recommend Youngblood Flooring. Clint and Jonathan and their team left a very positive and professional impression on me that I would now expect from every one I contract for a job. Don’t just take my word for it, have them come out and give you an estimate and a copy of their contract to review before hiring them. You’ll be impressed too. Good luck to you.

Terry did an excellent job of installing a metal railing on my concrete patio. He also painted the patio and my front porch, and replaced some deteriorated trim around my front dot.

Youngblood came by to see what I needed and gave me an estimate. He returned on the day and time agreed on and completed the job. He has a skilled crew that did excellent work in record time. Youngblood Iis very sociable and easy going . I felt comfortable asking him questions.

Youngblood Home Improvement is very responsive! Terry showed up on time and with a great attitude! He was extremely helpful with replacing our broken attic fan. Afterwards, he showed me pictures of my new attic fan. I am definitely using him again!

My wife and I just moved to Fairhope Al and leased a home for the next year as we start our venture in selecting or building a new home here. As all rental properties there where several items we felt needed attention to make our lives comfortable while we are residents. Everything from installation of ceiling fans, to a new door with doggy door for our fur son, pictures and mirrors hung, some painting, electrical work, bathroom fixtures and etc; Yes it sounds as we remodel the home; well let me say that Mr. Terry with Youngblood Home Improvements responded extremely well. He had the skill, knowledge and staff to perform any task that we asked of him and actually guided us in some ways to save time and money. So if you have a job that's need done call them. Terry will get it done for you.

When he came to look at what needed to be done, he immediately found the source of the water leak and knew it was something to deal with today. After giving me a quote, which I immediately accepted, he left to go obtain the parts he needed. When he returned, the work was completed today.

I used angies list to find someone to repair some drywall. I chose 2 local companies for a bid. Neither company called. Through angies list I received a message they were not interested.

Awesome! I had 2 holes one in the ceiling and one in a wall, You can’t even tell that it was patched. Mr. Youngblood was very professional and did an awesome job. I now have a “go to” handy man!
