I had a particular brand of window that I had already decided upon, however the window manufacturer only listed Distributors (and not installers) on their website. After tracking down a few distributors, I called them and got recommendations from them on who might be a good installer to work with. I had 4 of them come out and give a bid for the project. When I called and talked with Phillip Crowe (owner), he and I were able to discuss the project in detail over the phone because I knew the windows and features I wanted and the overall # of windows. He and I agreed on a competitive price range and then he made the trip to Birmingham to come measure and do the detailed estimate. His estimate was lower than the local competition and I was confident with his BBB rating and my impressions, so I decided to go with A-1 for the job. After ordering the windows, they were delivered in about 2 weeks. And they started 2 days after that (partly delayed due to weather). The communication of when things would get started met my expectations and we were able to work out plans for getting the house opened up and the dog put away for them to do their wrkHe has a team that does does the work and they completed my 21-window replacement job in just about 3 days. Phillip came to inspect the work on the following weekend and collect payment. There were a couple of minor cosmetic items and caulking reinforcements that we took care of and he left me as a happy customer. Given the length of time he has been in business and his overall reputation, I am confident in his ability to service my lifetime product and labor warranty on these windows and I am extremely happy with my decision to replace my windows and work with him.
