Right now the boat anchor of a refrigerator is running but like I said previously, at least 6th repair(many of those required multiple visits) in 3 years. It may last another 6 months before I have to repair or replace this complete piece of junk.
Description of Work: Sears has been out at least 6 times since we bought this refrigerator 3 years ago. The refrigerator is a Kenmore elite, supposedly the top of the line. It is total JUNK. Sears is more concerned with selling us a service contract than they are with replacing the CRAP they sold us at a premium price. Sears should go broke, what used to be a reputable company is now complete rip off artists. Do not buy from Sears they do not stand behind the products with their name on it.

They do a very thorough check, very thorough. They came out and check every single thing. They did a good job. It makes you feel good that your unit is set to work for the winter because they have checked everything and supposedly if they find anything they're supposed to fix it. They didn't find anything wrong so that's supposed to be part of that warranty. They said, "We check it make sure it's ready to run. If anything is wrong we fix it." But, luckily nothing was wrong, so I don't know if we would have been charged if something was wrong or not. It was two different company's. They have lots of company's that work for them.
Description of Work: They did a heating system check.

The repair man said "Have you heard about the sears home warranty that covers everything in you house? You pay $55.00 a month, $54.99. All you pay is a $60.00 service fee every time we come out and we will fix anything in your house, wiring, plumbing, you know, anything, air conditioning, your heat, your water heater, you know, every appliance no matter how old, how new it doesn't matter." and makes it sound just wonderful right, but what they don't tell you is all the exceptions. They will tell you to look on such in such page in your book and there it is, the fine print, many many lines telling you that, just for example we thought the ice maker quit working and so we thought, Oh we have the Sears Warranty, they'll cove it. They came out and said "No we don't cover that water line, we cover water lines to washing machines, water lines to dishwashers but we don't cover water lines to refrigerators." you've got to be kidding, so it was over $300.00. So we were just not happy with that. I have complained about it several times and this one guys said, he was a very smart aleck guy and he said, "Well I never buy anything without reading all the fine print." I said okay, well that must be, you must have all the time in the world to sit and read every word in that book. And see what's not going to be covered. And keep that in your mind, that you know that's not going to be covered in the future if that ever happens. I just thought that was a little silly. So, no where not happy with them. We're just about ready to cancel that. They have fixed a couple of things, we're still trying to get them to fix the washer. It's been messed up since December and they have sent multiple people out here and it still isn't fixed. The one thing the last technician said it needed, they said, "Oh we don't cover that." you know, so we're not happy with it. Now they did come out in the Fall and did a complete check on our heating system, no charge what so ever, not even the $60.00 and they just came out a couple of weeks ago on the air conditioner. Completely checked it, everything, cleaned it and there's not even the $60.00 charge on those 2 things. Which that is very nice, you know. I had to pay the $60.00 service fee but they said, if you wanted this fixed you'd have to pay for it on your own." it was over $200.00 or something like that, 3 or $400.00 and we just said, "well the washer works so we'll just let it work till it quits, you know. Then we'll buy another one.". They did a few little things that never fixed it. They put on new springs, they balanced it, they did a couple of small things but we keep calling them back, saying this has not been fixed. It's not been fixed, it's still making this noise, you know. Making a terrible noise every time it would run. They would send somebody back out there and they never would seem to address the fact that it needed a new washtub or it needed, you know, something major. We've had them out here 5 or 6 times. So now they're saying, It's no longer a recall. Now if we have to come out again, then we'll have to charge you $60.00 again. We go, "Okay forget it." so. The technicians where very nice, very professional. They would tell me things like, "You shouldn't put more than 6 towels in this washing machine, that's a full load.", I said 6 towels is a full load? To me that was ridiculous. They said "If you're putting more than that then no wonder it's making this noise. I was like, okay. alright. Nobody does that, they're going to fill that washer up. Fix the washer or replace it which is what we were told we we bought the warranty. They said "If we can't fix whatever is wrong we replace it. Well the replacement cost they were going to give us was $225.00, I would like to see you buy a washing machine for $225.00. They don't, I would never, Oh we even had one of the technicians, he was not with Sears but they will get other appliance companies if they're booked up, they'll get another appliance company who works for them, and he said he used to work for Sears, I used to sell the warranties. I feel like I need to call up all those people and apologize. That tells you a lot, doesn't it? And his company said they hate working with the Sears warranty more than any other warranty company. They were impossible to work with.

They do a very thorough check, very thorough. They came out and check every single thing. It assures you that your system is going to be ready for the summer. It's part of that warranty.
Description of Work: They did an air condition check. They checked the vents, they checked the outtake, the intake. They took the cover off the air conditioner, cleaned it all inside, even got the leaves and pine straw, you know. Checked the Freon, checked everything, you know.
