+ -1 morenot good !!! a sub contractor did the work found lots of work done wrong or not done at all destroyed all landscaping around the work area taking months of my time to straighten out the mess I called the sub contractor on the phone to complain about how the job was done got into shouting match and finally just had to hang up the phone called the owner of the company to let him know how dissatisfied I was over poorness of job done, told him I did not want the sub contractors to come back and I will fix everything myself lesson learned !!!!!!

+ -1 moreThey brought in a full sized tractor, graded the yard and called me to check for approval. They corrected several other problems outside of the original scope on their own. They continued to work, checking for my approval about every day. In 4 days start to finish, they were done. Shelby Jefferson & Dennis were top notch. The work is 100% grade A. Both Shelby Jefferson & Dennis aim to please.
Description of Work: I purchased a new home in 7/6/12. After a few rains it was apparent that I had purchased swamp land. Additional the home builder graded slope of land toward (as opposed to away from) the home. The back of the lot has large cluster of grass that tore up a lawnmower in under 2 weeks. I contacted a local carpenter referred to me. He brought in Shelby Jefferson Construction to estimate the grading work. I met with Jim Keeton of Shelby Jefferson. We discussed my objectives - grade yard with slope rolling off the back to a storm creek (that I own). Build a 55 ft x 56 ft box from treated landscape timbers, backfill with pea gravel (poisoning the ground first), to eliminate lawn maintenance. They gave me a one page agreement that spelled out work to be performed, materials and payment. We both signed. They started work the next day.
