Description of Work: Mr. Price came over to our home and assessed the roof since we had a leak in our bedroom. I had spoken with three different companies before calling him. They said that I needed to seal the roof and be done and another one said it was the gutters. Mr. Price assessed my roof and he said a seal would be just putting a band-aid on the roof for the meantime and eventually water can get in the walls and can cause more damage. Once he started the job they found that the builder of the home did not properly install the hardy board near certain windows properly causing water to leak into our bedroom ceiling. Also, he ended up fixing our chimney because the builder again didn't build the cricket properly. Philip Price does quality work and was wonderful to work with. His worker Roger was knowledgeable too. I would definitely recommend his company to others and use them again.

Description of Work: Tore off and replaced felt, 30 year shingles, 3 pipe flanges, storm guard for valley's, counter flashing, sealed skylight, painted vent domes to match shingles.

Description of Work: He replaced an existing roof on a 9,000 square foot (under roof) home.

Description of Work: Price Construction and Roofing Company is owned by Phillip and Michelle Price. Michelle has a full time job with another company and she will let you know every time you talk to her that this is not her full time job. Our insurance company had Hoover Construction Company give an estimate and my neighbor across the street said that Hoover owns Price construction and I don’t have to pay a lot. She said they had done a good job and it looked good. Another neighbor across the street had also used them and they were happy as well. I decided to get estimates and I got estimates from five companies including Price Construction. I called Price and he came out and gave me an estimate for the date she came which was August 21st. We had not decided whether to say yes or no to them and the same day she called my insurance company without my knowledge or permission on our behalf. That was the first problem we had with them. I did not want them to start the work on Labor Day, so I asked them to start the work on September 7th and finish the job by the 9th. They were supposed to finish the work in two days and 9th was supposed to be an optional day in case they ran over their schedule. They did not come as they had said on the 7th and I called her and she said they had not ordered the supplies. They had forgotten to order the supplies and so they started on 8th and they were supposed to finish on the 9th as I had a function to go to on the 10th. On the 10th they were still there working. I had gone for work and when I came back I was ready to take a shower. When I turned the water on I found that it was not working. I called the water company because I was sure I had paid the bill. They asked me to go outside and see if there was something wrong. When I went outside one of the men working with Price Construction indicated that they had turned my water off because they threw some shingles on top of our septic drain and there was water coming out from everywhere. I then tried to call Price Construction and the lady did not answer my call two or three times. I wanted to see what they were going to do about it, so I ended up calling Mr. Rooter and he never responded. This all happened at the last minute and I called my neighbor for help. There was nobody there either, so I thought I can go through the church and take a shower there at the gym. I was able to find my neighbor at the last minute and took a shower there. When I came back I found that they had already been by and cleared the damage. They said they had paid $190 for that. I asked for a copy of the receipt and Michelle brought a copy that was not legible. I asked Mr. Rooter for a copy and he did want to give it to us because they were told that the owner of the house was Price Construction. I told them that we were the owners and we had to know who did the job for future reference. I called them repeatedly, but I never got a copy until a week ago and it was not the same copy. They then finished the work on Monday. Michelle wanted me to pay the roofing supply company part of the money. I found that to be strange and I called my insurance company about it. They did not have a problem with that. I paid them a part of the money that I owed and by completion of the work I was planning to pay them the remaining of it. They needed to come back and put some dirt stuff around and clean the gutters. The work had not really been completed. I called my insurance company the same day and she called back and she said she would be coming the next day to take care of the matter. I did not hear from her again for three weeks after that. When she did call she wanted to get the reminder of the payment. I did not have a problem paying the money. It was just that when a company says they are going to come and do something they are supposed to come and do it the next day and you expect the same from them. It was bad that they did not start on the right day and they did not complete on the right day. She was not that professional all around and during our last conversation we had disagreed about the remaining of the payment. The day they turned off the water line I had a guest coming home for lunch because she was going away. Since the water line was closed, I had to cancel her coming home and take her out to eat. We removed that amount from the amount we owed them. I indicated them that someone had approached me about them hiring illegal people to work. She called and told me that the people they hire are all legal. Later the husband and wife came by and put the dirt around the septic drain and cleaned one of the gutters. He did not clean the other one where all the debris was left. In our attic there was so much stuff and they did not tell us that we needed to cover them. My whole attic is in a mess and we had somebody come and clean that. I have asthma and I am afraid of going into the attic. I had that amount removed from the amount I owe them as well. We are in disagreement about $300. They did not do the complete job they were supposed to. She came up with the balance that we owe her as $9000. She forgot to consider the $7000 that I paid her earlier for the roofing supply company. When I told her about it she deducted it and finally gave me a receipt for October 24th and that was not the day I paid the roofing company. She made the whole thing a complete mess. They were also supposed to reglaze our windows as they had damaged the windows and Hoover Construction was supposed to come and do it. I was to cost $400. She had some guy come here and I had not even noticed him. I found that people were cocking around the windows and that is not what they were supposed to do. I showed her where the area was that needed to be repaired. The finally gave me an invoice and kept calling my insurance company to get more money out of them. I first paid $7100 to the roofing company as requested by her and then I gave them a cheque for $6300 and then another cheque $2147.65. I deducted the amount for the meal I had to take my husband’s coworker out to eat. My other neighbors did not have to pay the deductable. I was the only one who paid that.
