I was extremely pleased with the whole experience with Creative Baths. The estimator arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and eager to answer all my questions. By far one of the most professional people I've ever dealt with. The scheduling went smooth and the installers showed up when expected. They worked very hard and were courteous and professional as well. The bathroom turned out to be beautiful and just what we needed. I would highly recommend Creative Baths, and are going to use them to re-do my mother's bathroom.
Description of Work: Creative Baths installed a handicap shower and shower door, new bathroom vanity, and vanity top in my home.

Use this company only if you want a lean placed on your home when you are not happy with their deceptive, bait and switch cheap and shoddy products. Creative Baths out of Boaz, AL totally misrepresents their product and services. I contracted with this company to replace three sink contertops and under mount sinks, a bathtub which was sold as being several inches wider than the form I was replacing. The salesman sold me the tub and and quot;marbleand quot; surround because his tub was at least 3 inches wider than the fiberglass form tub I already had. By the way, the tub was actually several inches skinnier than my original tub and is not useable by anyone older than fourteen. I do have a wide four or five inch lip on the tub tho. Totally useless and the installer said he always gets complaints from customers when they actually see the tub at installation. Creative Baths out of Boaz, AL is also deceptive because they advertise a stone material called and quot;TRUSTONEand quot; which is supposed to be similar to marble or granite. In fact, the samples they bring to sell you their product look and feel like stone. What they delivered was nothing like stone. It was plastic feeling resin and the color wasn't the same color as the sample I chose. The resin or plastic material they actually delivered was yellow. I don't know their mixture processes before they pour their product into the mold but it seems like they cheap out on the stone material and replace it with too much resin. Anyway, it is ugly!!! The next debacle created by Creative Baths out of Boaz, AL was a waste of vacation days. The sales person assured me that they would take one day to install. I work and had to take vacation time for the install. The install actually took 2 and one half days. Which robbed me of three days of vacation. Lastly, I contracted for a 108in counter top. The salesman said they did not have a form to pour in the and quot;stoneand quot; (actually resin) material that long so they would have to make 3 pieces. During delivery, they attempted to install one piece which was one inch thick, one piece that was 3/4 inch thick and one piece that was 1/2 inch think. I could not abide by such difference so I had the install team take it back. I also did not pay for the counter top and I told them I would call their boss to see about getting even pieces. The next day, I called the owner of the company to talk about a replacement or some other remedy to make things right. He was immediately rude and argumentative on the phone. No and quot;how can I help you,and quot; or and quot;lets work out a solution, and quot; or anything. Within 30 seconds of the conversation he threatened to put a and quot;leanand quot; on my home. He must have lots of folk who were duped like me because he was just too quick to threaten a lean. Run, don't walk from this company if you ever run in to them at home shows or anywhere else.
Description of Work: Creative Baths out of Boaz, AL promises to custom make a composite marble product to use as simulated marble for bathroom and kitchen counter-tops and other applications. The hook is that is looks and feels like marble but is much cheaper (it is not much cheaper just slightly cheaper, but when you add the installation charges (mine was almost $700.00) and receive an ugly yellowed resin product, it is NOT cheaper. I will end up replacing all the resin with real granite or marble and a real bathtub.

Response from Creative Baths, LLC
Creative Baths of Boaz, AL has been in business since 1995. To date, we have installed approximately 8,300 bathrooms. We work for all the major builders in North Alabama, as well as countless individual homeowners. We have an impecable reputation with these customers, with 85% of these customers doing repeat business with us. We offer our customers a full line of products including fiberglass, acrylic, cultured marble, TruStone, granite, and tile. This customer chose the product (TruStone), and the color that she wanted to be installed in her home. We don't make those decisions for our customers. The color that she chose does have a slight yellow tint to it. TruStone is a man made, cast product, and as such, can have slight variations in color, as any man made product does. This fact is plainly noted on the contract that this customer signed and agreed to. The customer only had a 32" x 60" opening for her tub and tub surround. There are larger tubs available, but 6' tubs will not fit in a 5' opening. We can only work with the space that the customer has. The samples that are shown to customers are smaller pieces of actual shower walls. Therefore, the process is exactly the same. There aren't two different ways to make this product. We prominently display in our showroom and all homeshows that we attend that the TruStone product is made from polyester resin. As far as the 108" counter top is concerned: This was not a bathroom vanity top, it was 3 flat pieces made to sit on an entertainment center. The customer was informed that we don't recommend this prouct for that purpose, and in fact tried to talk her out of using the TruStone for her entertainment center. But, because of the considerable lesser price of TruStone vs real granite, she chose to go with the TruStone. This product is cast into molds and therefore can have 1/8" variation in thickness. The customer was informed of this, and was also told that this product is not recommended to have the pieces "butted" together as you can do with real granite. The three pieces of this entertainment center top were sold to her as a drop down (two pieces at one level on the outsides, center section lower). On the day of installation, she insisted that the installers but the pieces together. This, of course makes the slight variations in thickness more noticeable. The majority of our jobs are completed in one day. There was one piece of trim that got damaged and had to brought back. This would have been a 15 minute fix that could have been worked around her work schedule. The reason it took two full days, is because the customer was not happy with the variations in thickness of the 3 entertainment center pieces (because they were butted - not installed as we had originally agreed upon). We spent the whole second day trying to get the pieces installed to her satisfaction, despite the fact that this was not what we had agreed upon in the contract. And, I might add at no additional cost to her. The installation charge that the customer sites had nothing to do with the actual installation of the product that we made for her. This charge was to tear-out the existing products that she wanted replaced, and prep the bathroom for our product. The TruStone product costs $22.50/sq. ft including installation. Real granite will cost approximately $50 - $85 per sq. ft, plus installation. The only complaint that the customer expressed to me was about the entertainment center top. In the beginning of our conversation she told me that she had changed her mind, and no longer wanted the three pieces for the entertainment center. I told her that the pieces were custom and were already made, and that even if she didn't want them she would still owe for them, because she had contracted us to make them, and we had done that. The customer told me that she just wouldn't pay for them. That is when I informed her that that was her choice, but if she didn't pay for them, I would be forced to file a labor lien on her house. This is why we have a contract, which the customer signed, so that there are no misunderstandings between the customer and Creative Baths. She then consented for us to return to her home and install the entertainment center tops. My installer said when he finished, that the customer told him the job was beautiful and she was very happy with it.
