Getting the price quote may have taken longer than I would have thought but once that occured the job was off and running. We looked at 3 contractors and they were not the low cost providor but sold us on superior quality. Strong quality, responsiveness, and overall job ownership were imprortant. Other people we talked to seemed to want push us in one directions or another as well as wanted to just cover up problem area over our framing/siding issues. They did the job the correct way and did not cut corners or take short cuts. Our house looks great and all the subs that were used were professional.

Taylor Burton is a good company, but the subcontractors that they use are far from the level of quality that one would expect. When I pointed out problems, they would fix them (most of the time). But only later did I figure out that the "repairs" were being billed back to me. So the subs do a bad job and charge for it. When there were problems the subs said "no problem" We will fix the problem and charge for it *again*. In my opinion , if Taylor Burton were doing their job correctly, the problems would not have happened in first place. Examples of problems: Wood countertop warped within 3 days of being installed. Burton's response: Let's watch it and see what it does. Shoddy plumbing work: We will get them to fix it (and bill us). Shockingly bad A/C work. Burton's response: I will talk to owner and get the guy fired if that's what you want. Since the project was "completed" around a year ago, I have also found lots of other problems: Elevator was not installed properly. Insulation was nonexistent in several places. Cabinet doors have warped. Standing water in sump of elevator shaft. Electrical wiring cut dead on both ends and not removed. Summary. Taylor Burton is a good company, and are honest as far as I can tell. They mean well, but fail to follow through on fixing problems. If a problem does arise, they tend to side with their subcontractors especially when it comes to who is going to pay to fix an issue.
