Standard Air, Plumbing & Insulation

I had a minor complaint which the company quickly resolved. In fact, the owner. Tom Kime and his son Tyler both came out. All three of us went into the attic. I watched while they worked and explained where all the problems were. (This was after I had the ductwork repaired.) They pointed out serveral places where I could feel air-conditioning (by now it was hot!) leaking out of the ductwork in a heavy stream. This was not part of the work I had requested, yet they insisted on doing so without charge. They took their time answering my questions. This is a very good company which cares about it's reputation and service to customers. I recommend them.

I was impressed that the repairman arrived at 8 on the dot. He was nice and professional and cleaned up after himself.

Standard has always been very thorough and professional. This visit was no different. We have an old heating unit that is working but not very efficient. We've never been pressured to replace it. I love the fact that the technicians do not sell and are not pressured to sell. My only complaint about this visit is they were about 45 minutes behind schedule.

The drain for our half-bath sink was leaking and the master bath cold water supply was not working as it should. These problems were corrected quickly. Brian represented his company professionally and courteously.

I had a few issues with bathroom drains. I called late one afternoon and they sent a service person out the next morning. They gave me a specific time when he was expected. The next morning they called and said he would be about 15 minutes later than I was previously told.Brian showed up on time. Brian was very polite and professional. He was very thorough and concerned with getting everything just right. He crawled under my house (yucky crawlspace) and even into the attic to double check for problems. I will use Standard Heating and Conditioning again and ask specifically for Brian. He also did a great job cleaning up after the work was completed.

Our heating and A/C units were over 20 years old and finally gave up the ghost. The came out the same day, declared the need for new units, had a salesperson out the same evening. For the size of our home, they helped us pick the best option, then threw in a year's service contract. After the service was completed, it was inspected and works perfectly. They were timely, reasonable, and professional. We have also used them for plumbing needs over the last year or two and have been very pleased with their work.

This company is simply the best - from the lady who took my call and scheduled the service, to the wonderful technician they sent out to do the work. This was the third service I called to come out and work on my air conditioner. They were the only ones who were able to find the leak and repair it for me. Others tried but couldn't find the problem and recommended my buying a new system at a cost of over $5k. With my current system being only six years old I didn't think that made sense. The technician Standard Heat and Air sent out was thorough and honest. He worked hard to find the leak and was able to repair it for me! I was thrilled that it cost me a fraction of what the other companies thought I should spend. I can't praise or thank this technician enough for his hard work in finding a difficult leak and repairing it for me. I will only call Standard Heat and Air in the future and you can bet when it comes time to replace my system, they will get my business. Honest and dependable. Thank you!!

Had them come out to repair heat pump that had iced over completely. Roy was punctual, professional, and courteous. Not only did he fix the problem, but he took the time to explain everything so that way I could understand. I will definitely use them again and have already signed up for their maintenance program.

Recommended I contact my home warranty for needed replacement to save me money; they could have done the repairs and charged me full price. Quality, ethical service.

Eddie arrived right on time and listened to my explanation about the noise my unit makes upon start up. He checked the units and took his time to do a thorough job. Then he explained to me about the operation of the unit and that the noise I hear upon start up is completely normal. I was satisfied with his explanation and mollified that there was nothing wrong with the unit. I purchased two heat pumps from them and have been very satisfied with their professionalism and service.

We have a yearly service contract with them. If I forget that it is time, they remind me. The yearly cost of our contract is a little over $300.

Friendly, professional, organized. Used cover to protect floor. Identified problem quickly and continued to persist until resolved. Cleaned area w/ anti-bacterial cleaner, put all rags, etc. into plastic bag. Squared-away organization. Will definitely use again and also for heating/AC in future. Excellent service

Quick and efficient work to correct my installation error.

This is a difficult review to write because the outcome was fine but getting there was unnecessarily difficult. Standard was able to fit me into their schedule for furnace maintenance on extremely short notice and this I appreciate. The technician that came out was both friendly and presented himself in a professional manner. After about a half hour of maintenance work the technician asked me to look at a problem. Using a micro camera with a display he tried to show me what he believed was a crack in the heat exchanger. I could not see it and told him so. He then started talking about condemning the furnace but also letting me know that the heat exchanger was probably under warranty (the furnace is less than 5 years old). I was not willing to commit to any additional work until I had more information. I asked him to verify the warranty status of the heat exchanger. After talking to someone he told me that his next step would be to determine if there was actually a crack. After more work he determined that there was no crack. He then finished his work and the furnace is fine. My expectation is that in performing maintenance the technician would have determined if there was a crack before worrying me with issues of condemning and warranties. I appreciate the guidance that he obviously received from the person he talked to. That stopped what was developing into a stressful decision. If I were grading this on responsiveness and the overall quality of the work, it would be an A. But the unnecessary drama lowers it to a C.

They are always prompt, courteous, and do quality work. Unlike some other heating and air conditioning companies, they do not try to sell you equipment that you do not need. They do the job asked to a high level of quality. I recommend them heartily. They are worth the price.

They did what they were supposed to do.

I had an odor in my air conditioner system and called Standard Heating to come and inspect it. They were up front on the phone that there was a $79.00 diagnostic fee. The technician came out. Charles was prompt and very courteous; he answered all my questions and did his best to address my concern. He even took his shoes off each time he would come into the house. Although the odor's source could not be found, he did everything he could do to help me.

This job was scheduled for work to be done in my mother's home, who lives long distance from my place of residence. So I had no idea about the company except for the reviews on Angie's List. I was very pleased with the work. Edward, the technician arrived on time. He was very professional. He did an excellent job. I provided a converter faucet/hand shower for my mother's clawfoot bathtub which was decades old, and a complimentary faucet for the sink. Because the tub was so old, the existing connectors leaked when he attached the new faucet. He had to then travel to the only plumbing store in the area that carried them. When he returned, he found that they had given him the wrong size, and he had to make a repeat trip. He did not charge us for the additional time it took to make this second trip. It took about 5 hours for him to complete this project, and he performed with diligence despite the stifling heat he endured while working in that bathroom. My mother is thus far enjoying her converter faucet without any problems. There was a travel charge, which in my area, there typically is not. So that gives an extra added expense. I am sure if that is a general custom for companies in that area.

I just had to update my review of this company. They responded very quickly and professionally to an issue I was having and it is obvious that they truly care about their customers. They repaired my hot water heater and then came back to replace parts in my tub and shower that were causing problems with water flow. My bath and shower have never worked this well since I moved in the house. I would highly recommend them and Darby is the best - knowledgeable and very, very nice.
