Standard Air, Plumbing & Insulation

All went well for about 2 weeks and I had a leak. They sent a man out on a Sunday durring a three day holiday at no charge. Excellent service and they stand behind what they sell.

Very professional. The crew arrived early and got to work getting new air installed. After a few hours, wonderful cool air was once again coming through the air ducts. The crew made sure to clean up and not leave any messes and were very friendly as well. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Very professional company from initial contact, through the estimate, installation, and follow up. They provided multiple equiment estimates so that we were able to select the best choice for our budget. They did not try to 'scare' us into replacing the whole system like some other companies tried to. They were honest and straight forward with estimated cost and final bill and really cared about our individual house and financial needs.

Standard worked me in on the day I called to fix a slow draining tub. The repair was fast, thorough, and the plumber gave me welcome advice on keeping my drains from clogging in the future. Very professional, a bit pricey, but I would use this company again.

They did their work well and cleaned up after themselves. I did feel like it took a while to complete the project. I have not needed this type of work done before so I was unsure of what the cost should be.

Of course on the hottest weekend of the summer so far, our AC stops putting out cold air. Called first thing Monday morning and asked for an appointment as soon as possible. Was told it would be after lunch. I asked if the Tech could call my cell before he headed to my house so I would have time to meet him their. He did and quickly got to work. He charged up our unit with Freon and wonderful cold air was being pumped into our house again. While he was there, he told me about our outside unit was really dirty and needed to be cleaned to help out with the units efficiency. He quoted me a price and also told me about their service plan where this cleaning would be included. After going over what all was included in the service plan I decided to sign up for it as it would save me money over just getting the outside unit clean and I will also get a return trip in the fall to have the furnace checked out for heating season.

My AC unit was not in use because of the cool nights until late last week. Then I noticed the fan on the compressor was not running. I had installed a programmable thermostat last summer and had encountered some issues with wiring it properly. I hoped that was the problem. The technician checked the wiring, made an adjustment, but that didn't solve the problem. He checked the fan, found that the motor had failed. Before he went to pick up a new motor, he confirmed that the motor was under warranty -- on his own, without my requesting it -- and quoted me the price for diagnostics and labor. Returned 45 minutes later, replaced fan motor. Good to go. About the best experience, regardless of cost involved, I've ever had with HVAC maintenance or repair.

Plumber called ahead to let me meet him at the house. He arrived on time and I was on my way within 1 hour

My gas bill for January was very high so I checked one of my furnaces and found the flame to be yellow. Standard returned my call within the day. The gentleman who did the work arrived on time, and was very polite and efficient. He explained exactly what he had done (the burner needed cleaning), and cleaned up well after himself. I asked him a question about my other furnace, the fan of which sometimes doesn't shut off, and he gave me some advice regarding cleaning / changing filters. The price was very reasonable and overall I was very satisfied with Standard and will use them again.

We like them. They have been reliable, they seem honest, and they call and remind us when we need their service. They come when they say they are going to come and they are trustworthy.

We called Standard about a month back because we were having some pressure problems and leaking toilets. The technician came out and repaired the pressure problems and added a gas lighter to our fireplace, but he was not in his normal truck and was unable to get the toilets working. The work he did do was great and worth the price, but the toilets working had been our #1 priority. The technician said we could reschedule to have our toilets repaired. The holidays came, and it was mid-January before we were able to reschedule. When we did contact the company about coming back out, the plumbing manager, Mr. Hale, said he would be in our area on the coming Saturday and, if we were available, he could have a look at it then. I thought he was just going to assess the situation and send a technician back that week. Instead, he spent over 4 hours working and getting parts needed (in two different trips), and he did a fantastic job. When I asked for the invoice, he said it was taken care of, and that the company should have been able to fix the problem on their first trip (which was not really the first technician’s fault). Great work and even better service, and I will definitely use this company again.

Not only is Joe Volker in residential estimates/sales helpful, knowledgeable, and professional, his ethics are beyond reproach. Their prices are not the lowest, but you will never have a problem with Standard H&A. I give them 5-stars for customer satisfaction.

My heater was making a lot of noise and there was a clog that was affecting the sensors. They came out and bent the fan blade a bit back and they did a good job. Their price was not good.

I wasn't here when they came out but they did a great job. They were prompt, efficient, very quick and very courteous. They knew what they were doing and their price was reasonable.

They were efficient and had good follow-through. They couldn?t solve the problem at first but they came back that night, the following afternoon, and the manager came out; they really gave it the attention that was needed to get my heat on.

I had a coupon and they fixed my air-conditioner for less than $200 and I was very happy. They replaced a part and they were very nice and quick. I had a good experience with anybody I felt well.

I had emailed three companies asking for details about their maintenance plans. Standard's Customer Service Manager, Kimberly Merritt, answered my request for information very promptly. She was courteous and very informative, and in the end, her responses to my questions (as compared to the other companies) were what made me decide to go with Standard. I received a reminder call the day before the appointment. The following morning, two clean-cut, professional men were sent to our home: one to service the system, and the other to provide an estimate on some solutions to a problem we are having with keeping one of our rooms cool. Both men were exactly on time, were extremely polite, and did their work quickly and efficiently. A couple days after the service was performed, we received a letter from Ms Merritt in the mail, thanking us for choosing Standard and providing additional information. Overall, Standard has fantastic customer service and I feel better knowing our A/C is in excellent condition. I would definitely recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Great! I called 3 local companies late one evening because my AC unit wasn't getting any power. I tried replacing the fuses myself, but didn't get it right. Standard was the first company to send a technician--An older gentleman, he was polite, professional, friendly and I trusted him immediately. It was a very simple job--he explained it all to me, told me which fuses to buy myself at the hardware store, and charged me only for the service call. It seems that the last company (Steel City) had installed the wrong size fuses. Even I could read plainly on the unit that it required 30 amp fuses--Steel City had put in a 50 and a 35!) He noted that my "caps" were "left loose" and that I could use a little freon boost. He didn't charge me for it. I used the Angie's list coupon for Standard Heating & AC, so the whole deal cost me $29. As the technician left, I asked him for a stack of business cards to give to my friends. We'll be calling them also for our plumbing & heating needs.

This was a straightforward job with a very nice (and a little eccentric) gentleman who was very thorough. He spent over an hour and a half for the full job, as there was a lot to be cleaned out of the compressor part. I used the $50 off first-time customers coupon from Angie's List to get the standard inspection/service that most of us need once a year on our AC units. He was on time at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning to do the job, showed me everything he was doing and why.

It went very well. See explanation preceding. The response was speedy and the problems were found and fixed quickly. I was impressed with the levels of knowledge and expertise exhibited. Even though we had to pay overtime for a Saturday call, they told us that up front so there was no surprise involved.

Showed up on time, work performed as promised. Job well done.

It was great--they were good. They price was not astronomical, and the AC works perfectly now.
