SPAINCO RESTORATION

On that day Mr Spain, asked my to sign an agreement for them to remove my contents to a safe location, that they would cover my roof immediately with tarps to prevent further damage from rain and would begin the restoration work to return my home to its previous state immediately. Spainco did send people out to clean out the destroyed contents, and remove the salvageable items. More than 3 weeks later my home still was not covered with tarps. It rained many times during this period of time and my hardwood floors plus any possibly salvageable contents were getting saturated My furniture and belongings were finally moved from the house. Whenever I called to inquire about when the work would start on my house I was continually put off. They never did any work on the house other than finally, after 3 weeks, cover with tarps. . I became very frustrated and wrote a letter to the insurance company telling them I no longer wanted to use Spainco to do the work on my house. David Spain called me and was irate stating I had signed a contract and couldn't get out of the contract and that he would hold onto all of my belongings and put a lien against my house unless I paid him $10,000 for the work they had done at my home. I told him I wanted my belongings back out of storage and he stated that I would get my contents back when I had paid him. I had to get the police to go with me to get my contents back and had to rent a truck and he gave me less than one hour to get "everything you have left". He had my belongings all scattered about in a warehouse with what appeared to be other peoples belongings. He followed my around and verbally harassing my daughter and I while we were moving my belongings. It was an absolutely HORRIBLE experience. The entire experience of dealing with Spainco was a NIGHTMARE, they were so cruel that they even laughed at me while we were moving the items into the truck. They seemed to think the whole thing was funny. I was put under so much harrassment and stress by Mr David Spain that I did pay them the $10,000, just so they would leave me alone. They did NOT do anywhere near enough money to be paid $10,000. I wish it was possible to go back to court to get my money returned because I realize now that I was scammed and taken advantage of due to the stressful situation I was going through losing my home and everything I had.
