I called and spoke to someone at this company on 5/24/2018 at 3:46 PM. We set an appointment for him to meet at my house on 5/29/2018 at 5:30 PM. They did not make the appointment and did not call. I called them on 5/30/2018 at 10:48 AM and left a voicemail. I thought maybe I had the date and time wrong. I asked for a call back to confirm the appointment time. I've received no response. Not sure what went wrong. Guess I'll find someone else.

Quick to see me. Did yard check and then nothing. No estimate to email or call. Called two weeks later and nothing.

I found them on Angie's List. He came out and gave me price for tearing down the old fence that was here and used beautiful new fence in place of it. They did a wonderful job. They did a great job. The manager that manages our subdivision called me and asked who did my fence so he recommended South Gate Fence Company to everybody else that needed to replace their fence.

We had an appointment to meet to discuss building a six foot wooden privacy fence, but this company failed to show up for the appointment. To compound the problem, I was unable to get in touch with them while I sat at the home for half an hour. As I write this review, I still have not heard back from this company. This is after this company was more than punctual in returning calls for a week or so leading up to this appointment. I can understand a mistake because we all make them. But I cannot understand the lack of professionalism this company displayed. I would not recommend the South Gate Fence Company to anyone.

The job went great ! The boys did a super job.

Couldn't have gone better; far exceeded my expectations. We didn't know what we really needed other than a fence 100 yards long, and the objective was to separate common properties because of two large male canines not getting along. Daniel Sims came to the property and told us exactly what we needed - a five foot tall fence (not four), steel (not aluminum), 3.5 inches of air space between the fence bars (so dogs couldn't get through but cats could), and no pointy spikes on the top of the fence (to prevent a dog or cat collar from getting caught on it if they tried to jump); like I said, we didn't know what we needed but he did. He gave us bids for both aluminum vs steel and 5 feet vs 4 feet and allowed us to make the decision. We took his advice and he gave us a start date of 8/23 and his crew, Craig and Bill arrived as scheduled, started the project and completed it exactly when Daniel said it would be done. Craig and Bill were awesome, they were efficient, professional, did a spectacular job and left the yard spotless when the job was complete. I recommend South Gate Fence without reservation for anyone in the Birmingham, Alabama region who needs to construct a fence. If I could give ratings higher than "5" I would.

South Gate Fencing did an excellent job. All materials were explained and quoted before purchasing. Installation was quick and clean. The installers were courteous to me and my family. We did not pay until the job was complete and we were completely satisfied.
