SHOEMAKER POOL SERVICE INC

I purchased the one month pool maintenance deal via the Angie's List website but when I spoke to the pool company, they informed me that they have not done business with Angie's List in over a year and that they had repeatedly asked Angie's List to quit selling the deal. The pool company told me they would not honor the deal.

I started calling Shoemaker back in the summer, I have tried many times and I still have never heard from them.

Made two appointments with them prior to them coming out. The first appointment they called to inform me they had another appointment taking longer than they thought and would not be able to be out . The second appointment I had to call them to find out why they had not shown, again another appointment had lasted longer than they thought ( must had forgotten that I was waiting on them ). The third time I called they send 2 people out within two hours after the call. My problem with this company was the lack of communication and the pricing. Was not informed that part of the hourly pricing was also travel time. The original invoice I received had more hours than they had worked also ( both guys working took off to get a part needed and did not come back till 3.75 hours later, the invoice had charged me that one person had stayed and I was charged- I made sure I was at the house during this and I was taking the time they worked.) When the invoice came in ( I had already put $1000 down on the first day they worked ) I called to see why I was being charged so much- I had the time they worked and based on what I was told I was being charged on a per hour bases for 2 people, I thought the only extra charges would be for the parts they used. Bottom line: Lack of Communication ( the guys that came out only could communicate with broken English- I could not understand what they were saying . The invoice was changed based on me calling ( still charged the travel time - if communicated I would had looked elsewhere). and when the invoice did get changed the guys that where working told their supervisor that one of them did stay to work when the other left to get a part, but he was not going to charge me ( Why would I have lied about this ). I thought it would cost about $1500 to replace ( I already had bought the liner and talking to Shoemakers originally I was confident that this would be the est, cost - no one ever came out to est. it was done by phone. I used Shoemaker based on their rating on Angie's List. I have waited to send in a review to give Shoemaker's Pool Service time to correct the problem I had.

Called store and asked if they would be able to do pool inspection . They came the same day 4 hours after calling. Ricardo completed an extensive inspection and provided me a written report within 5 days. It was a little pricy however they where able to come on a short notice.

Great job at pool repairs. We have hired them to do our regular pool maintenance. Very responsive and attentive to customers.

They come every week. I have not met them, but they have been very good. They come when we are not there and do what they needed to do. Their price is high though.

I called Shoemaker to get my pool up and running for the summer. I knew there were problems, but didn't know how extensive they might be. I talked to Ricardo. He came out, got the pool up and running and found our problem areas. He fixed what needed fixing for a very reasonable cost.I have hired them for weekly pool service and they have done an outstanding job. They have been coming for about 2 months and my pool has never looked better.

I ran into one of their crews in the local convenience store one day last summer and asked about their services. I need a new liner and the foundation needs resanding. Not friendly at all when they found out my pool was above ground. I understand different services are required. In the past 30 some odd years of home ownership, I have had 5 pools, above ground "freestanding" , in ground vinyl, in ground cement olympic sized, covered with a bubble? :)(restoration home) , inground gunite and now partially above ground built into the deck (along with the aforementioned hot-tub). Anyway, the "foreman" of the crew clearly stated that; "We don't do above ground pools" and walked away. So when I called about the hot tub repair, I wasn't really surprised by the attitude of the person to whom I spoke. These two incidents were about 6 months apart. Their work may be good if you can get them :)!

I don't remember how much we paid for their service. They were very good at what they did. I would recommend their service to a family member or a friend. I would definitely use them again in the future.

The front of my main pump was leaking air and it had the wrong lid put on it by the previous owner. They were pretty professional and knowledgeable. We had some problems with the pool with water getting into the water lines. They were able to diagnose the problem and figure out what was wrong and fix it. We were very pleased with them.

They knew for sure what we wanted for the size of our pool. I liked the details that they made in order to serve us better. The price was a little high. I didn?t have an appointment with them. I would use their services in the future.

I have been pleased and impressed with Shoemaker. While they may not be the cheapest, I get what I pay for --- reliable, quality service.

Schumaker has been working for me for about eighteen or twenty years now. They are a good company that has built a reputation in my local area. For this reason, I like doing business with them. Now, years ago, I used to pay under a hundred dollars for their services. Now they charge much more but that is because of time more than anything else. I am not looking to replace this company because they maintain my pool to my personal level of satisfaction.

Shoemaker has been doing this for many years and we found that they minimize problems as well as repairing things before they become too severe. Their technician is extremely polite, and he is rarely late. He is conscientious enough to keep our pool in top operating condition. Although we don't use the pool very often are grandchildren do, and they give it quite a workout too.
