I had contacted for an estimate and everyone I spoke to was very nice and responsive. I even had someone come out within a week or so to take a look at the work I wanted done (reframe and refresh screened in patio). He promised to call back with an estimate within a week or so. I gave him1.5 weeks and then called two to three times to see if could get the estimate. I never received any response. I feel it is highly unprofessional to not at least respond with something like and quot;not interested in the joband quot; or and quot;it is two small for usand quot; etc. One of my biggest frustrations is the fact that it is so hard to get contractors to respond or to give estimates. This one feels like another failure in my books. At this point, even if I ever did hear from them with a favorable estimate, I don't think I would use them unless there was some really good explanation for ignoring my calls.

I received Mark's number from a friend and had him come out to give me an estimate on a new patio and an in ground pool. His price wasn't the lowest I received, but the quality of work was truly worth the money. I went with Remodeling Associates because of the great things I heard about them--I spoke with two of their former clients and they both praised their experience with them. His crew got to work immediately and worked steadily with only a few instances of down time. I was very grateful for how understanding and flexible Mark was with my job, since I have a hectic schedule to keep. I am very satisfied with the results, and come summer, I'll have a great place to relax and have some pool time with my kids. Any remodeling job has ups and downs, but if you want a company who will really work with you through everything, give them a call.
Description of Work: Mark and his people reworked our yard by installing an in ground pool and pouring a patio, along with some minor repairs throughout my home.

Remodeling Associates came to our attention after our original contractor's price went way over budget. Recommended by our architect, RA responded with a proposal to build our home within our budget. Their approach was very refreshing. They said that when building a custom home, there will be changes along the way. These would not be charged as add-ons unless it was something major. And true to their word, the house came in as budgeted with super quality. Mark Williams is a joy to work with. He really cares about what the client wants. He and his crew are great to work with. Any problems were amicably taken care of. We love our new home.
Description of Work: Remodeling Associates rebuilt our home after it burned. Except for the demolition and foundation work, they were the general contractors, building a new house that looks and feels very close to our original home, a 1920's bungalow. They (and their subs) were responsible for the framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring, and HVAC.

They were quit satisfactory. The quote was incomplete. They were reasonable for the things they did quote me for. The person I met was quit cordial and prompt. He just seemed to be ok. I don't know how long it takes to get a quote together but it seemed long to me. They were professional. I would use them in the future.
Description of Work: Remodeling Associates came out about two weeks ago to give me an estimate on remodeling my house.

So far, they have been excellent! Super easy to get along with. They want to do a good job and make us happy with the finished product. If we request something, they don't come back at us with an additional charges; they just do it as part of the contract because they know there will be a few changes along the way and have built that into the contract (which was amazingly and refreshingly short). Good folks!
Description of Work: Even though their business is "Remodeling", we are having them build our house as our General Contractor. They are in charge of doing it all: framing, roofing, plumbing, electrical, hvac, painting, etc.

For years, my husband and I had planned to expand the length of our house by adding a two-car garage with a sun room above the garage in order to have a spot to enjoy a lake view. We delayed the project for years, because it was incredibly hard to find a builder / contractor who felt comfortable with all aspects of the addition. My husband had penciled out his ideas for a design and then had an architect-friend review his plans and advise us on anything else he might recommend that we might need to include in the project. When we met Jonathan (Jon) Waldrop of Remodeling Associates Inc., he listened to our ideas, reviewed our sketches and plans, and came out promptly to our house to discuss details of the plans and take measurements. Jon was very professional and communicated well with us. We learned that he was a Master Carpenter who had several major remodeling projects in the Mountain Brook area near Birmingham, AL. Jon had been in the construction and remodeling business for many years, and had been building homes since he was 14 years old! He had several associates to contact for specialized aspects of projects. He had an excellent sense of what was needed for the entire remodeling job we needed. Jon was also very flexible about allowing us to complete certain aspects of the projects ourselves, such as installing insulation and dry wall. My husband also planned to finish the interior of the cathedral ceiling ourselves, which saved us a lot of money on the sun room project. Within a few days, Jon had drafted a detailed estimate which was very fair. His communication skills with us were excellent. Within another week or two, he had all materials delivered to our home in time for each phase of the work. Jon arrived early each morning with his crew; they worked tirelessly each day with Jon's direct guidance. As each phase of the work was finished, we paid the balance on the specific project phase. The work was excellent and was exactly what we had planned. Neighbors volunteered frequent compliments about the quality and progress of the work, which were excellent and rapid, respectively. Now Jon Waldrop is the first person we consult about any remodeling idea that we have. He has the best knowledge, expertise, communication skills, experience, and follow-up skills of any other potential builder we have met.
Description of Work: Performed modifications to the home by building a double-car garage, and sun room with cathedral ceiling with insulated glass, and side deck above the garage; replaced an 5- ft tall brick wall beside the driveway; and constructed a 4-foot tall x approximately 60-feet long retaining wall and stairs out of railroad ties.

For any type of contracting work this is the company we call. We have been using them for years including at our old house. There is nothing they cannot do and do extremely well. Their designs are both attractive and functional. The crew took about one month to finish both projects and the house has increased in value by a substantial amount because of the job they did. The basement had drywall and a suspended ceiling installed.
Description of Work: Remodeling Associates Incorporated put an addition on our house and remodeled our basement. The addition was of a twenty by fifteen foot area.
