Do not engage w this company on either buying or selling end if possible. As a buyer and as a seller, Ive never experienced anything like the unprofessional practices of the agent and his clients (the sellers) representing this firm.

Caroline Jeff was our real estate agent and she also recommended an in-house finance person to help us obtain a mortgage. Although we LOVE our house, we just got REALLY lucky because as soon as all the papers were signed (and not a moment before) Caroline started bragging about how she had purposely set up a bad deal for us including a really bad insurance company that dropped us from their coverage within one month, and collusion with the finance person who convinced us he got the best interest rate possible when actually he got us an very high rate based on Caroline's spreading gossip behind our backs with her colleagues Including the Finance guy and the Seller's realtor who was also a Realty South agent but at a different office, that we were inexperienced home buyers (this was our first) and we could be taken advantage of. She was VERY unprofessional and had an immature, petty attitude. We were only nice, polite and compliant throughout the process. We are people who spiritually are taught to have compassion for those who would deceive us, but also avoid them once we become aware of their ill intent. If this post can help any others avoid Realty South - and especially Carolyn Jeff - it will be helpful. As I mentioned, we got lucky in our case because: 1) With some renovations/additions to the house that were clearly needed going into it and found during the home inspection (Carolyn would not have mentioned them) , and 2) Finding great insurance to replace the lousy policy, and 3) Refinancing at a much better rate, we absolutely love our house and the market value has gone well above what we spent on improvements, although we don't plan to sell ever because we love the house - but it worked out for us despite Caroline Jeff's efforts at sabotage. Lesson learned. Some people will try to take advantage of you to benefit themselves. Sounds naïve and it is I'm sure. I got rolled by this group She really was highly unethical and unprofessional. -

The experience was a disaster. First, Sue Ann accepted a contract from a buyer with 2 contradictory financing clauses checked. We later discovered that her mistake was realtor 101--never should have happened. About 1 month before closing, we were ambushed by Sue Ann with an FHA/VA addendum. The buyers had switched to FHA. Sue Ann never called to discuss this change; according to the fine print on the contract, all changes in financing had to be approved by the seller. Sue Ann simply forwarded emails sent to her by the other realtor and the buyers' lender without running interference and really representing us. Her behavior representing us as buyers was terrible. We found 90% of the properties that we toured. When we walked into properties, Sue Ann was clueless. At times, it seemed like she was more concerned about the sellers than us. She really did not advocate for us. We parted ways and found a much better realtor, who sold our property in 72 hours and who netted us $10K more than Sue Ann would have. We are now using him to look at a new property. We filed a formal complaint with the Alabama Real Estate Commission, enforcement division, against Sue Ann and Realty South.
