It went beyond perfectly. John was professional from beginning to end and exceeded my expectations. He suggested a specific tile, but gave me the final say. I went with what he suggested and it worked out very well. The results are great and the family is very pleased. He even went the extra mile to get someone to fit a glass door. Prep and clean-up were top notch. Well done, John.
Description of Work: Removed existing fiberglas panels and flooring damaged from moisture under panels. Installed new shower pan. Installed waterproof backer board. Retiled walk-in shower.

I contacted Precision Tile and Stone based on previous reviews posted on Angie’s List. John came over right away, took measurements, and promptly sent a written estimate for installation of tile in two bathrooms. He removed two toilets and a pedestal sink, took out the old flooring, and installed porcelain tile. The job took four days to complete, and conformed to the written estimate in all respects. Two aspects of the job are worth emphasizing. First, the quality of the workmanship was outstanding--the floors look fantastic. And second, John was neat and tidy, cleaning up at the end of each day and hauling away all debris from the jobsite. We are very pleased with the work, would use Precision Tile and Stone again, and recommend their services without reservation. Thanks, John.

The service was very good. He was very prompt when I called and I was able to setup and appointment within a few days. When he did the work he found some rotted wood and he sent a picture of it and did the extra work for a reasonable price. He was good with the schedule and the work was was great. The price was not the lowest but it was well worth it for the quality of work.
Description of Work: He did demolition of an existing shower and floor in a bathroom. He tore out the tile in the shower and the floor and he replaced them both. The floor and the shower tile were replaced with travertine.

It went beautifully. He arrived on schedule and was excellent to work with. John Kanellis is a true professional who takes tremendous pride in his work and wants his customer to be pleased. He even added tile to a step going into the rec room because he thought it would give a more finished and professional look to the job and he was right, it made a huge difference. He will be the person we call for any tile work in the future. I highly recommend him!

Mr. Kanellis arrived Wednesday morning 7/10 to begin the job as scheduled, He picked up 27 cartons of 20x20 tile required to do the work and came prepared to begin the installation. The screened porch and adjoining patio had both been extended with the addition of new concrete so it was necessary to cover the seams where the two different concrete slabs met and any previous cracks. John was very meticulous and neat, making sure to not splash the newly installed screens with any materials used to lay the tile. He worked all day Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in the hot sun. Saturday he came to grout the tile to complete the job. The porch and patio look great, my husband and I are very pleased and would highly recommend Precision Tile and Stone to anyone requiring tile work. Mr. Kanellis treats your home with care and you will be very happy with the end result.

When John arrived, we were not sure what we needed to do and just gave him a rough idea. He came back with a plan that we thought was outstanding. My son was getting married in 3 weeks and John understood the time constraints. John started promptly tearing out the old bathroom and hauling it away.He then replaced the floor in areas where the shower pan had leaked causing rotting. He arranged for the plumber to coincide with his work. He worked systematically informing me of what he would be doing the next day. Not only did he work systematically by himself, he the kept site neat and orderly without exception. As we moved to the main bathroom, his routine was exactly the same. I could not possible be more satisfied with the results and the total project came in on budget and well under the time limitations. When left when the project was finished, we had two beautiful bathrooms and nothing to clean up anywhere. A final note. John is truly and expert in the tile field of tiling. He placed the tiles diagonally on the floor and ceiling. He then used straight tiles for the walls adding a very nice decorative strip. The little things like sloping the edge of the tiles on the step base to make the water run back into the shower and corner shelves that sloped forward just enough to let the water drain. These little additions just showed incredible attention to detail and as I have said before, my wife and I could not be happier.
Description of Work: Totally remodeled my main and master bath. In the Master, John actually found vacant areas behind the walls and over the old shower to the attic. He framed this out to make a much larger master bath.

Mr. Kanellis graciously rearranged his schedule to accommodate my plans for visiting family the early part of May. He started the renovation on Monday 4/22 by removing the existing fiberglass tub and prepared the shower floor for the plumber to come in the next day. During the plumber's visit, there was a question regarding the placement of the drain, I contacted John and he spoke with the plumber by phone and answered his question. The plumber completed his work Tuesday 4/23 and John returned the next day to prepare the walls and floor for tile. He answered my many questions and cleaned up each day after his work was completed. He placed paper on my hardwood floors to prevent damage and also checked with me periodically to see if everything looked the way I had expected it to. Before placing the tile on the shower wall, John laid out the design in my garage so that I could see what it would look like before the pattern was permanently placed in the bathroom. The job was started and completed as promised. The job went very well and I would gladly recommend Precision Tile & Stone to my neighbors.
Description of Work: Mr. Kanellis from Precision Tile & Stone removed the existing tub and faucets, and replaced the fiberglass tub with a completely tiled shower only enclosure. He prepped the walls and floor for the tile installation and regrouted the tile floor to mach the new shower.

After a long summer with family and friends and enjoying my ceramic tile floor, I got a bug to re-do my master bathroom. I once again called John Kanellis with Precision Tile and Stone. We met and I had some design ideas that we both agreed would work very well with the current vanities and granite tops. I had a cultured marble shower and an outdated cultured tub that had to go, not to mention a floor that had cracking grout from a poor installation. The meeting with John went extremely well. He gave me ideas that I never even thought of; such as cutting part of the shower wall out to open it up and make it light and airy and raise the ceiling. He also suggestd adding two can lights to really brighten things up. I picked a beautiful chiseled edge travertine. I used the 8 x 16 size on the walls on a broken joint and an 8 x 8 of the same material on the ceiling and shower floor on a diagonal. I also added a niche for shampoo, made out of the same stone as to just glend in the wall. I also wanted a corner seat. Since I told John that I wanted to use 12 x 12 emperdor dark marble on the tub deck and tub face, he suggested adding a piece of slab 3 cm. to the shower seat and curb in order to bring some of the color from the tub area into the shower. It looks awesome!! The main bath floor is 16 x 16 same type of stone as the shower, on a diagnoal. John had to construct a wood framed tub deck where the cultured tub deck was. Like I mentioned, the top and face were dark emperdor marble and the splash was one rom of 8 x 16 stone from the shower with an accent band that was made of one noce colored pencil liner, 5 inces of 5/8 x 5/8 mesh mount emperdor dark mosaic and capped off with another noce pencil liner. Then the plumber installed all new fixtures and a drop in air tub. I have to say John did all the work solo from tear out to completion. He also helped me coordi ate the subcontractors so that the project kept moving without any down time. I was amazed that John took out all that old material and installed all the new with very little dust. I thought for sure it would at least dust up the master bedroom. IT DID NOT !!! In closing, I have to say everything went as planned and some of the shower work was so tedious like "book matching" all the corners of the stone in the shower and putting the proper slope under the shower pan and on top of the curb to accept the new frameless glass. I HIGHLY recommend Precision TIle and Stone.

One thing that appealed to me was John was personally setting the tile and I could leave him there while he was working and runn errands with no worries. He never left the house during the day and ALWAYS cleaned up at the end of the day. He would tell me what areas to not step on and what was ok to steps on. We always had open communication which was a plus. He also tiled the semicircle staircase leading to the second floor as well as another staircase leading from the living room to the den. All in al everything turned out to be BETTER than I expected!! John was very easy going and consistent in his work. He wasn't the most inexpensive guy in town or the most expensive. If you want an EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH QUALITY INSTALLATION - - - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PRECISION TILE AND STONE.
Description of Work: I hired John Kanellis with Precision Tile and Stone. This was at the beginning of summer. After an initial consultation to confirm the feasibility of installing 18 x 18 porcelain tile on the diagonal in two different levels of my house John explained how this could be performed with me still living in the house. He also expressed that installing the tile properly wasn't about just slapping it down and that was it. He told me hos in order for it to last it needed to be approached "foundationally" fron the strength of the subfloor to the coverage of mortar on the tiles. It was very infomative and I really felt he knew what he was doing. This was a project I could only do once and could not risk someone doing it and it not be right, just to save a few dollars. Not with well over 2,000 square feet of tile going in. The areas to receive tile were the lower level of my home which consisted of a large den, hallway, guest room and guest bath floor and then tile the steps going up to the mail level. The main level areas included was a great room, formal, dining room, kitchen, famtily room, laundry, two short hallways, a small bathroom and an office. Part of the difficulty was the floor had to connect back at the front door. There are no breaks in the pattern at all.

Each time they have been focused, meticulous, precise, and totally trustworthy working alone in our home. They also completely finished each job even when it meant an extra trip or two to our home to work around other contractors. We would use Precision Tile and Stone again and highly recommend them to others.
Description of Work: We have used Precision Tile and Stone for three projects at our home--a kitchen and two baths--over the course of five years. In the kitchen and hall bath, they removed the old tile, replaced the sub-floor, and installed new tile on the floor and shower area. In the master bath (our most recent project), they installed new tile throughout with a beautiful shower design.
