Description of Work: I have had to move in with my mom due to her declining health, so I used PetStop to install an electric fence. I have heard of others that had their fence installed and the company installed it and put it on the major shock and that was all they got for their money. After listening to my needs and thoughts, PetStop designed the fence area, installed it, AND included training. The owner also called to make sure his folks got there on time, and checked behind them to be sure I got what I want. I also like that all of the installers are employees of the company. Once installed, training began. We started off with the lowest setting which I loved. My dog was trained in a week, it's been a couple of months now and we have had zero escape attempts--even after chasing a squirrel across the yard, he stopped on a dime and there are no flags up. The collar has a lifetime warranty, is waterproof (can be washed in the dishwasher!) Great Company!

Initially I had a lot of problems with this company and was very disappointed in their service. One issue was that they do not know how to install the carpet on the Hale dog door interior. Hale doors said that this company would replace the carpet. This company said that Hale dog door would replace the carpet. Anyway, It was cut in half. Unfortunately, I never received a replacement. I had some other issues as well. However, with the exception of the carpet, the owner made the other issues right. After multiple emails, the owner finally fixed things. The owner gets an "A" rating. However the service, responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism on the part of the employees was lacking. The quality of the work was good. I wish I could give a better rating.

Pet Stop was easy to work with. The installers were prompt, courteous and extremely efficient. Rob was extremely helpful with training. They are always available for questions and will come back to help with training as needed. I would recommend Pet Stop to anyone needing an invisible fence.
Description of Work: Pet Stop did my initial estimate by satellite and made changes as requested. The fence was installed within a few days in a matter of hours by extremely polite and very knowledgeable employees. They answered my endless questions with a great amount of patience. I would have no qualms at all about using this company again.

They were here when they said to install fence. they were finished in about 2 hrs. they installed the fence around 2 houses and took the fence 30 yards into the woods to give as much room as possible for my dogs. They show me how to train my dogs so they can get acquainted with this new toy. Things did not go very well with my training, so I called the office and made arrangement for Rob, the salesman, to come to my home and started training my dog. He adjusted the power on the dog colllars and said he would call monday to check on their progress. He said he would be back in a week to train so more and keep coming till my dog get comfortable. Overall they have done a very good job.

Scheduled the maintenance 2 weeks in advance for the first appointment of the morning on March 1 2012. As a rule they said the technicians would arrive between 8am and 12 noon. No problem. I took off work and waited and waited and waited. No technician - no phone call no anything. At noon, I had to go back to work. at about 12:15 I called them to see what happened. I was told the technicians had been on the way at 8:30 AM and should have been there. Naturally when the young lady called them they were "turning onto my street". Anyway I had to work and they would have to come back. They came back at 3:00 pm and worked on the fence fro a while. they were very polite and extremely professional. However, they were unable to make the fence operational. They believed that the moisture in the property was masking another break in the line but were unsure. My property stays wet. Guys were going to try and come back the next day but were unsure if they could make it. I called on the 16th and left a voicemail - no response I called on the 23rd and left a voicemail - no response I called three times over the last three days left one voicemail - no response I sent the following email this morning to their general mailbox i found online: Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2012 9:04 AM To: office@petstopalabama.com Subject: wilsonville, al Are you guys out of business? Your technicians came to my home on the 1st of MArch and were coming back the next day to complete repairs and never returned. No phone calls from your office and no contact on my calls I have placed and messages left. Please advise me if I need to go somewhere else please. Sincerely, and got the following response back Mr. I was told by my technician that the ground where they needed to be was under water, it rained every other day for 2 weeks after they were there. I was also told by my technician that you were going to call me when it was dry so we could come finish our work. I received one message you on Tuesday and it was returned for you to call a schedule when we could come back out. I know you originally wanted to be present so I haven?t just sent someone out to fix it until I heard from you. Please call me today and I will be happy to get the guys out there to finish. Thank You, Gretchen I responded with the following email: Gretchen, I was not aware that I was supposed to call you guys to reschedule. When they left that afternoon, they told me they would be back the next afternoon but if something came up that someone from the office would give me a call. They knew they couldn't guarantee me they could come back because of an install the next morning but said they would do their best. It rained the next morning so I didn't think about it. Your technicians were both very polite and very professional. I waited until the 16th of this month and then called to see what was going on and left a voice message. I received no response. I called last Friday and left a voice message and received no response. I called twice yesterday and got nothing but the voice message system but did not leave a message. I called this morning at 8:55 am and left a voice message and received no response until I emailed from your web page at 9:04. I have not gotten any calls or voicemails to schedule an appointment. Sincerely, SO rather than just pick up the phone and give me a call i was asked to try yet again to contact them. The you ng lady I have spoken to is very polite and professional when I have been able to reach them. All the people I have dealt with have been wonderfully professional. It is the professionalism of the business itself that i call into question. Who leaves a custom hanging for a month? UPDATE: I would like to just say that I am sorry that this has turned into some sort of High School drama circus. I had no intention of that. I simply wanted to be serviced. I would like to take a few minutes and address the issues provided by the servicer. I was upset when i initially called to ask where they were. The young lady. Had no idea where they were and called me back within about 15 minutes to let me know they were turning onto hwy 51 at that time which is a few miles from my home. I was already near I-459 by this time. If I somehow passed them I would have had no idea. Nor could it have even been possible. I AM NOT RELATED TO AN EMPLOYEE OF A COMPETITOR. My sister -in-Law knows someone who has a competitive dealership. I did contact him through her initially to see what to do with these type of things and he advised me to always let the company who installed the system service it. He said they know their equipment and system better than anyone and while others can fix them it is always best to use a certified dealer of the system installed. I felt like that was good professional advice. I couldn't even tell you his name and haven't spoken to him since. I made this report the same day but sometime after receiving an email as follows From: @petstopalabama.com> Date: March 29, 2012 10:01:25 AM CDT I just received the voicemail from this morning, I was out of the office on Friday. Give me just a few minutes and Ill give you a call. I do apologize it sounds like everything is on the wrong foot with you and I just don?t let that happen.. Thanks againGretchen I never got that phone call, was frustrated and wrote this report. I dont prank call people and giggle. I am a forty year old foster parent, adoptive father through a church based organization who does not have time for that. THe system is in warranty, the ownership of the home has not changed. I lease it from the owner who purchased the system and was handling the repair on his behalf due to the lease arrangement all repair responsibility falls on him as the owner. Just thought I would get it done and handle it myself as a favor for being so kind to us. I really hate this has turned silly. If the owner would like to contact me I will be glad to discuss and I would be willing to withdraw the rating or change to something that more accurately reflects the service level I would receive going forward. Nothing malicious here. Just a guy trying to get someone to come look at my fence.
Description of Work: Leased home with an existing Pet Stop fencing system. System was not functioning. It emitted a loud constant beeping noise when plugged in. Contacted Pet Stop of Alabama to come out and fix fence system. Replaced circuit board and repaired one break in fence. Fence still not functioning properly. Service team said they would try to come out the next day and finish repair. They never returned.

Response from PET STOP® PET FENCE SYSTEMS OF ALABAMA
First, I think it is extremely important to point out three things: • Member, by his own admission, IS RELATED TO AN EMPLOYEE OF OUR MAIN COMPETITOR • Member has never paid us for any product or service • Our company has spent 3.5 hours attempting to locate and repair wire damage left from the previous homeowner, in wet and unmanageable conditions. We also replaced a damaged circuit board in his transmitter – which is not covered under warranty, as the warranty is non-transferrable. Since conditions did not allow us to complete the repair, we have not yet even billed him for this. As everyone knows, there are two sides to every story. Here is ours. During the initial repair appointment, the member correctly points out that our technicians were late for the appointment. He did call us at 12:10 – we have software which records all messages with time & date stamps – and said our crew hadn’t shown up yet and he couldn’t wait any longer, helpfully explaining that “my time costs more than yours”. He also wanted to know how we could compensate him for the loss of the time he had already waited. Our office manager explained to him that yes, the guys should have called and let him know they were running a few minutes behind. They literally saw him driving away when they were pulling in, and said they believed he also saw them. She told him that we would reduce his service call fee since we were late and because he should have received a phone call from the guys. Since no one was now home, we also offered to come back that very afternoon. They arrived at 2:37 PM (we use GPS tracking on all our vehicles, which tracks in real time and sends us daily reports) and worked on the system till 6:22 PM attempting to locate and repair damaged wire that was buried and underwater. There were several breaks and damage to the wire which required that they re-run a section. They isolated another area which was totally submerged as a damaged area, and asked him to call us when it had dried out sufficiently to complete the repair. On the service ticket – where our service technicians make notes on all repair jobs – it was noted that they told the member that they may be able to return the next day and asked him to call to advise us whether the area had dried out enough to complete the repair. It rained steadily the next day, and the member did not call. Our system has only recorded two messages from the member, which we still have. One was left on Wednesday, 3/28 after hours and was a hang up, no actual message. It is possible that the member also called on the 23rd as he stated, but we did not get a message. We don’t actually know because Charter Communications, our telephone service provider, experienced state-wide phone and internet outages several times during the period between 3/21 and 3/30. This is well documented and easily corroborated, and was nobody’s fault except Charter’s unfortunately. He did call again on 3/29 at 8:55 AM and left a message – this was 15 minutes before he emailed us. While I was in our office on 3/30 talking to our staff about this very review, the member called again. Our office manager answered the phone and put it on speaker. We could hear him chuckling to someone as he said, “This is the member, are you going to answer the phone this time?” followed by more laughter. She said, “Hello, may I help you?” The member said, “Hello, Hello” and hung up. All four of us present agreed that it seemed like that call was “just for kicks”. All in all, I agree that our company was not without fault in this unfortunate set of circumstances. But the facts are these: • The member acknowledged that his property remains very wet much of the time, and that proper repairs could not be performed while it was in its wet state. • We got lots of rain before and for the two weeks following our initial repair attempt, making conditions remain unsuitable for the work in his yard. • The member said we were to call him the next day, but my crew’s notes said they asked him to call when his property had dried out sufficiently to complete the work. • We have in fact done some repairs to his system without ever asking for payment, because we also wanted to complete the work first. • The member has claimed that “Work was completed” as it gives more weight to Angie’s List reviews but the job, in point of fact, was not completed. This means that the member is not now, nor has ever been our customer, but is still allowed to post the disagreeable review that he did. We do not feel we have earned an “F” rating for this set of circumstances. In our 18 years in fact, we have never received this type of review or rating. We find it particularly offensive to receive this rating from someone who, in fact, is not even our customer and has never paid us to perform any type of service or for any product. Further, we prefer not to do business with someone who thinks this is a fair way to treat us as service providers, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING HIS AFFILIATION WITH OUR COMPETITION. Until this review, our reputation has been without blemish, and we believe this is a malicious attempt to help our competitor.

We have used them at our home in Pinson and then again for a much more complex job in Mount Olive. I also got a referral from them on a dealer in Indiana to have an invisible fence installed at our parent's home (several acres, including crossing a small creek). My male dog needed an adjustment on the shock duration for extra reinforcement. Rob has previous experience as an dog trainer. They understand dogs and their product. They are real pros and very fair. I have been a high maintenance customer and I have experienced EXCELLENT customer service from these folks.
Description of Work: We have 2.5 acres mixture of lawn, landscape, large hill and densely wooded natural area with invisible fencing for our Chesepeake Bay Retrievers. Excellent knowledge of product, they are on the advisory board for this National Company, professional employees, complete job on time, we have had our underground fence cut several times by accident and handled the service calls promptly, showed me how do my own repairs when I asked how, use quality wire material.
