Great! All that was wrong was the sensors and the technician (wish I could remember his name) fixed the problem so quickly. He was great! Overhead Door originally installed our doors when we built our house 20 years ago. This is only the 2nd time to need a repair and it was quickly taken care of. Highly recommend this company.

The young man who came was very courteous, professional, and personable. He took care of the matter quickly and explained what he did.

The initial consultation was quick and easy, with only one problem - we had two panels that were bent. I could only tell one was bent, and the worker who came out to check on the problem missed that the second panel was bent. When the installation worker Kevin came, he was very quick, arrived a couple minutes early, did not scratch or damage anything in the garage, and completed the job properly. He did lack professionalism, as I overheard him cursing out of anger while he was working inside the garage. He was the worker that pointed out that our second panel was bent, and due to this being bent the garage door still has a slight gap. To fix this would not only cost another panel but an additional labor charge that could probably have been saved by having both installed at once. Overall the company seemed like a good company, and I appreciated they had the door panels in stock to keep the wait time at a minimum. They also installed two very high quality struts to brace the doors from being bent in the future, a touch I really appreciated. The lack of professionalism from cursing in the garage and the initial worker not noticing we would need to fix the second panel is the reasoning for my "C" grade in professionalism category.

First set date 5 days later but called back and came 3rd day. Competent service man did a good job at very fair price.

The service man was kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Only one of our doors has an automatic opener. He took measurements and recommended a quality opener that would last. He had several openers on his truck and explained the advantages and disadvantages of different models and manufacturers. I am having Overhead Door come back to our home to install a mechanical opener.

Another professional and appropriately attired person came at the expected time and date with tools and equipment to provide the service which was handled in an extremely competent manner. I could not have asked for a more polite gentleman to come to my home to handle such a service, and I would recommend Overhead Door Company without hesitation to anyone. There was no time wasted; however, I felt due care was taken in all the technician's efforts.

The job went quickly and smoothly and from start to finish took about a half day. There have been no problems since the new doors were installed.

This company gives super kind and considerate service. When i stopped in their office to seek information regarding the problem i was having with the remote for my garage door opener, I was given free advice, instruction, and a remote for the door opener to take home and try in order to see if i really needed a service call. I was also given options and prices regarding how to fix the problem, if i really did need a service call and repair, or a new opener. I decided after trying their suggestions, they gave me that it was best for me to buy a new opener, and the service was excellent. James, the serviceman, was right on time, and the door opener was installed in approximately one hour. He was very kind, did and excellent installation, and gave me good instructions and information regarding the new opener and the guarantee related to it and the service guaranteed from Overhead door Company. Mike Schafer, the owner of this company, is a very kind and considerate person also. Three years ago he actually followed me home after i stopped in his office at about 6 PM after a big storm that left me without power, and a garage door that i could not lift manually as the springs had broken. Mr. Schafer could not fix the problem then, but he sent a serviceman James at 730 a.m the next morning and he fixed the problem. Again, the price was very reasonable and i was given options and prices and excellent service for the repair. Another time 6 years ago a bolt had fallen out of the arm that holds the door opener to the door and the arm had fallen down. I stopped into Overhead Door office and they gave me a few bolts (FREE) to take home and fix the arm of the opener. No service call nor cost to me, just kindness from them. As I am an elderly widow, I especially want to thank this companies owner and employees. They took care of me as if i were a family member. Several days ago our builder-installed 15 year old garage door opener gave out. We tried fixing it but when gave up when the circuit board made a big popping noise and the motor gave out. Tommy wasted no time installing the new 1/2 HP opener (the old one was 1/3 HP). New chain, new sensors, new remotes. He adjusted and tightened and greased and sprayed and in just under an hour we were in business! Garage door works great. Thanks Overhead Door and especial thanks to Tommy!

Although I did not select this company to perform the work, they were my back up choice with both price and a fully explanation of the product and their installation.

Overhead Door Company of Birmingham replaced a lightweight aluminum 16 foot garage door with an insulated steel door. They replaced the rails, springs and trim. We had a new lightweight aluminum garage door on our house when we bought it. It got damaged during a windstorm and needed to be replaced. Because of the width of the door (16 feet) it was a non-standard door, one that most places do not keep in stock. We contacted several places and found Overhead Door Company offered us the best options for our house. They offered us a reinforced steel door with insulated panels that would be able to withstand a greater wind pressure than the original. They had to order the door, which took two weeks to come in. We had to pay 1/2 the cost as a deposit up front. This may have been because it was a special order door, or it might just be their policy. It wasn't an issue either way with us. Two gentlemen from Overhead Door Company came out and installed the door, tracks and springs, and it works beautifully. One of the workers did ask me if I wanted them to replace the trim around the door, which of course I did. Since the trim is how they set the seal on the door, I found that a bit odd. They did replace it and it fits great. We would recommend Overhead Door Company of Birmingham. We were very pleased with them.

They were easy to reach on the phone, gave a recommendation of the doors we needed, provided a very reasonable price (I called several places for estimates), showed up on time, made some on-site strategic changes when they realized they had a low-headroom situation on one door, did a GREAT job on the installation, and charged what they said they would (with no additional costs for the low-headroom modifications). I would recommend them highly!

I called them an got an estimate, which was significantly lower than the other estimate I got. The door had to be ordered and they told me it would take a few weeks to come in, which it did. After the door came in, they came out an installed it two days later. Everything was done as they described.
