Absolutely would not recommend that anybody does business with Mr. Fix It Appliance Repair, the owner is Woody. He definitely does not fix anything and has horrible business practices. Our LG refrigerator was leaking through to the inside refrigerator whenever we used the water dispenser. I called them for a service call and Woody and his grandson, his helper, came out on 5/25/23. I told him the problem. He tested the dispenser to see if it would do the same thing, and it did. They started taking the water dispenser apart, then the icemaker and the shelving that housed the ice maker. They pulled the refrigerator out to turn the water off/on while they worked on it. After about an hour of working on it, Woody determined that it had to be bad tubing, but he wasn't 100% sure. But he said he'd order the part and come back to install it. He came back with the part on 5/31/23 but he had ordered the wrong part for this particular LG model. He then told me he had to order another part and grumbled something about how these machines aren't built like they used to be. So he had to order yet another part and said he would come back to install it. He told me/us to leave everything just as it was, loose parts and all and he put everything on top of the refrigerator. He left the water turned off from behind the fridge and left the fridge pulled out into the middle of the kitchen and said to just leave everything that way and he'd be back the next week to install the new part. I told him I'd be out of town the following week, but my husband and daughter would be there to let him in to work on it. He said that's fine and I gave him my husband's cell number as a contact to call him on the day that he would be headed to our home. I left town the following week (gone 6/6 through 6/11). I talked to my family every day and asked had the repairman come back, and it was 'no' for the entire week. When I got back on 6/11, I was busy with everything and noticed by 6/14 that Woody still had not come nor called about the follow-up service appointment. At that point, it was going on 2 full weeks that our refrigerator had parts scattered on top of the appliance and was in the middle of the floor, with everyone walking around it because Woody said to leave it as is and he'd be right back. I finally called him on 6/15 and asked when was he coming back out to fix the fridge. He stated that he was very busy with other calls and the soonest he could come back out would be on that Friday, 6/16. On 6/16, he didn't show up or call. I called him again to find out what was going on and he told me that he's busy and I don't know what it's like to be 70 years old and trying to retire! Wow, is all I could say. He then offered to just mail me the part that he had ordered, and I said that's fine, please mail it. I figured if he mailed it on the 16th, and since the 19th was a federal holiday and the mail wouldn't run, I should at least get it by the 23rd. Well by the 21st, nothing had come in the mail. So I called him AGAIN to see what was going on. I called Woody on 6/21 and said "you were supposed to mail me the part." He said he totally forgot and that he would just come back out on Thursday, 6/22 and install the new part and put everything back together. On 6/22, it was after 12:00 and he still hadn't come. I called Woody to ask him what time should I expect him so I can be sure that someone would be here. He said 2:00. About an hour after that call, he called me back and asked me about my work order and if it had a description of the service on it. He said he couldn't find his copy. I told him everything that was on the work order. THAT was when he aggressively stated to me that he was NOT going to come back out to fix my appliance, he told me to get someone else to do it and that he would refund my money. I was shocked! I asked well are you at least going to come back and put the refrigerator back together?? He said NO. I'm not coming back out and I'm not going to fix it. I stammered and said, wait, wait, how can you not come back out, NOT fix the appliance, NOT mail me the part and NOT give me a refund (although he said he would do it, I never got the money back and it's been a week and a half now?? He hung up the phone in my face, and when I tried and tried calling back, he sent me to voicemail. I tried calling from my husband's phone and he still wouldn't answer. I tried calling from my work phone, no answer, but he called back and when he heard my voice, he hung up again. Totally unprofessional and cowardice! Bottom line, money wasted, time wasted and I still had to call another repair service and pay double because they had to reassemble the unit first just to try to figure out what the initial problem was. If Woody couldn't fix the appliance, he should've stated that early on. He took my money and breached the contract. According to the fine print on his work order, he does owe me a refund, but I'll probably never get it. But if I can help someone else avoid dealing with this shady, unscrupulous person, that's good enough for me. Save your frustration.

I gave a detailed description of my issues with my refrigerator over the phone. When the repairman came out, he knew exactly what the problem was but I wish I had been told that all I needed to do was unplug it for a day. The freezer had frozen up so the refrigerator was not getting cold. He said to take everything out of the freezer and unplug it. That’s it. In a day, it should be working fine. I asked if he would give a discount on the $89.95 service charge since he didn’t really do anything but he said “No Mam, I told you what the problem was”. I wrote him a check but I will never write him another one.

My issue was with a 4 year old refrigerator where the freezer compartment was not freezing cold enough. The refrigerator was working and cold but was not freezing quite enough. I did receive excellent customer service from Mr. Fix-It’s office assistant on scheduling. Unfortunately Mr. Fix-It himself (Woody) was nothing of the sort. His visit lasted approximately 5 minutes. During those 5 minutes he did not once touch the refrigerator. He rudely demanded instead of simply asking us to “mute whatever noises were going on” so that he could hear. (Those noises: a Samsung washer in the next room over). After listening to the refrigerator for approximately 7 seconds he advised to throw the 4 year old refrigerator (that I paid $2,500 for) away because they are only made to last 3-4 years. I was advised to go buy an at least 15 year old refrigerator from a used appliance store to put in our brand new kitchen, because old ones were made better. The Whirlpool refrigerator was purchased approximately 3-4 years ago from Lowe’s. It was delivered and remained completely wrapped, unopened, and untouched until April 2016 when it was plugged in for the very first time. It was unplugged May 1st 2018, moved to our new house, and plugged back in on May 30th. His response was that I ruined it by not immediately plugging it in from the store and then not using it for a whole month. After giving all of his arrogantly provided opinions he said the refrigerator probably needs Freon. He said it was not worth fixing because it was expensive and would need to be done again in approximately 3 months. I was then handed his $80 service fee bill. Disappointedly I gave him my debt card and continued listening to his seemingly endless rants on how poorly new appliances are being made. During this time he apparently thought he told a joke that had no humor and then rudely stated to my wife “apparently you have no sense of humor”, as if we were not educated adults listening to every word he was saying. Conclusion: The “expensive” repair that he advised against cost me $15. I purchased a $10 piercing valve and $5 can of Freon and added it to the refrigerator myself, because the “repairman” I called apparently didn’t want to repair anything. (Even if he’s correct, a $5 can of Freon every 3-4 months sounds a lot better than $2500 and always allows time for me to purchase a new one) Mr. Fix-it is rude, unprofessional, and clearly not interested in FIXING anything. Save your $80. Google and YouTube will be of more service than Mr. Fix-It.

Dishwasher would not drain water during cycle. Repairman said it was a bad timer, cost would be $289. He order it, came back a week later and installed the timer. Dishwasher still did not drain water. Missed 2 appointments to come back. Finally came back, ran the dishwasher through the cycle manually and said it was fine. Dishwasher still does not drain water and now the soap cup will not open. Company refuses to return calls, will not give my money back. They have a warranty on the back of their receipt that they will not honor. I spent $289 and now I have to but a new dishwasher in order to sell this house.

Response from Mr. Fix It Appliance Repair
We responded each and every time we were called to this home, on the first visit we informed her she had a defective timer but that the machine was old and needed to be replaced. not once did we find a problem with the machine when we arrived. This machine was old and needed to be replaced which we told her repeatedly before we did any work, We changed the defective timer only after telling her there may be other problems due to age of the equipment. She reported us to the BBB which stated to her that we had done all we could do to warn her not to proceed and she choose to do so. We regret this occurred and wish her nothing but happiness in the future.
