Mr. Appliance Over the Mountain

Two days before our New Year's Party our refrigerator went out! We had just stocked up the freezer with food in preparation. Due to the holidays it was tough to find someone who had room on the schedule to have someone come out the same day but Mr. Appliance fit us into their schedule. We were provided a two hour window that afternoon and the technician showed up after a long day and having had to stop to replenish this stock. He took one look at the back of the refrigerator and found the culprit in a burned out relay and the good news was that he had just picked up a new one on his truck on the way over. The technician made the repairs even with our two Great Danes helping and "supervising" over his shoulder. The repair was quick, the refrigerator compressor could be heard coming and cold air beginning to circulate before he left. All in all I feel the compensation was reasonable especially considering the distance we live from town. Mr Appliance worked to get us into their schedule and allow us the time to restock and save our New Year's. The technician arrived when they said he would, was professional, knowledgeable and personable. We would use Mr. Appliance again.

The technician arrived on time and competed his work promptly. He also cautioned me about installation of the new washer to avoid damaging the tile. Just perfect.

He could find no problem but suspected that an ice cube was caught in the tray. He made an adjustment to the water flow, but only charged us for a service call.

They showed us that we would be better off doing it ourselves and we would say from the stand point of honesty, which was good of them. They saved us a lot of money just by telling us how to just go ahead and do it ourselves because they needed a part and they had to go down town. They would have charged us a lot of money and there was travelling. They told us where to go and it was pretty easy to fix ourselves. They told us where to get the part for the switch and told us how to plug it in and plug two wires in and fix it.

The technician was very nice and professional. They are very honest.

I called to have them repair my dishwasher the first tech came out and said it was a problem with mice so he would order the part and to call him back. Called back four days later and the second tech was to come out. He called ten minutes before he was to arrive saying he would not be there he did not have the part had to order it but it would be in the next day and they would call. They never called so we finally called them they said part was not it and it would be Monday before someone would get to us. We stated we would go with another company if we could find someone. Ten minutes later they called back the part was somehow in and the man on the way. He came and did install the part but in the process I was left with a torn up door on my dishwasher and another part broken. First he yanked the dishwasher out and tore up the door as he was trying to put it back on he kept hitting it with a screwdriver and hammer. I would never hit my appliance with either one. Then he shoved the dishwasher in a few times and dented my copper pipe in the back and tore up a sensor. He then proceeded to curse and lied saying that the sensor was already damaged. This was after he supposedly had checked all parts and told us it was all ok. So now I have a broken dishwasher with a broken door sitting half way out in my floor .The owners said they would come out to check on it. They did come but got lost and were forty five minutes late. How can you get lost when you have already sent two people out ??? The owners did promise me a dishwasher but from there it went back downhill. They were to call me Monday for install I had to call them. I was given a time which I put on my schedule and took off work. After being an hour late I called and they told me they had given me a different time which I had recorded each conversation so I know what they said. I have taken off of work now four times and I still wait for the dishwasher to be put in.

While I don't like the idea of a diagnostic fee, I can completely understand the necessity of it. They will include it with your total cost, though, if you get the service done. So that is a plus for future work. The repair of our 10 year old washer was going to cost way more than it was worth because the motor is going out. So, we decided not to get the work done. But, they were right on time, very punctual, courteous and it was a good experience.We will use them in the future for needs.

They came the same day that I contacted them. I would recommend them because they came the same day and did the work. I will use them in the future if needed.

They were very efficient and very good. They informed us of all that needed to be done and the cost. It was reasonable. We were really pleased and haven't had any problem with the work they did. Their price was comparable to others. They were very prompt. We would probably most definitely use them again.

Very professional company. A perfect experience from start to finish. I contacted the company and scheduled a time. They called to confirm the appointment and called again to say their technicians were on the way. They arrived within the scheduled time. They diagnosed and repaired the problem as well as showing me a few maintenance procedures I could occasionally do myself which would prevent a similar problem in the future. The technicians were very polite and considerate.

They are very professional. Their technician was the best I’ve ever seen, very mechanical.

The technician was incredibly nice and took to the time to also perform a couple of minor adjustments to help prolong the life of my refrigerator/freezer. Great experience and will always remain at the top of my list for appliance repairs in the Birmingham area.

Overall, they did a good job, because they got the dryer up and running quickly - but with the other stuff as mentioned - a B is what would be merited. I would use them again.

My experience with them was fine. The work was nothing major. They looked at the dryer, and there was nothing wrong with it. They checked the refrigerator and replaced a part on it. They were prompt. I would possibly use them again in the future.

Will definitely use this company again. The technician, Marlon was so knowledgable and explained everything to us so we felt confident in the service. Also very nice and professional.

Nice, efficient, knowledgable, courteous and on-time. I thought the price was a bit high but he had to come all the way out here (N. Shelby Co.) and spent an hour working. So, I really can't complain.

We were connected with Mr. Appliance through our home warranty company. Our home warranty company put us in touch with another company (Birmingham Appliance Repair), which arranged for Mr. Appliance's technician to come out the next morning. I'm not sure what the connection between the two companies is. Troy arrived at the very beginning of his two-hour time slot. He was very friendly and professional, and he knew what he was doing. The repair went smoothly and quickly. Troy and his dispatcher made some calls to my home warranty company to work out arrangements for payment. I was extremely happy with Troy's service, and will keep his name and number handy in case I need more appliance work done. Mr. Appliance billed $217.65 for the service call, parts (new motor fan), and labor. I only paid $45 because my home warranty company covered the rest.

It took them forever to come out and then it took them forever to get a part. They charged me an insane amount of money for this part. This was just for a squirrel cage fan. A couple of days later I found out that my unit was under warranty and that Carrier would have fixed this for free had I known. When I called Mr. Appliance and told them this, I asked them to give me my money back and file with Carrier and they wouldn't. They were super rude and nasty to me. They didn't care about me as a customer at all. This was the ultimate nightmare. I wouldn't trust them for anything now.

It was good, they were very quick and timely. You know it wasn't cheap. It was 200 dollars but they did what they said they were going to do. It was one trip and it was very fast and courteous. They didn't leave a huge mess.

Mr. Appliance determined that the Kenmore freezer had a "sealed system failure" that would cost $500+ to repair. I determined not to do the repairs since freezer was 9+ years old. Even though the freezer was not repaired, the Mr. Appliance technician (Tony Williams) gave me an excellent "seminar" on what to look for when buying a new freezer and how to avoid the most common repair problems they see.

Fantastic service. The Service person arrived within specified time, was very knowledgeable, and informed me as to the potential problem and why it happened. He made the repair on the first call. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone.

I was really glad that I had called Mr. Appliance when my refrigerator broke down because the man that came out was very knowledgeable about what he was doing. When he was finished with his work he made sure to give me some helpful tips so this would not happen again.
