Description of Work: Technician came out to repair our broken refrigerator. Immediately diagnosed the problem as a broken condenser coil. He tried to "patch" the device for us without having to replace it. It wouldn't work since it had been repaired once before, and told us honestly that for as much as it would be to replace the condenser on such an old refrigerator, we might as well buy a new one.

Description of Work: Initial request was to repair a washing machine. I expected a service call the next day, but he came the same day within 2 hours. He looked at the washing machine and said he could fix it, but given the model and repair track record he advised against repair and said I would come out cheaper buying a new machine. I asked him about the dryer vent and he said cleaning required specialized equipment that he did not have and so would require another visit. But he said he would be glad to check and see if he thought the vent really needed cleaning. He did the check and said the vent was fine and did not need cleaning.

Description of Work: Living without an icemaker is no fun in the hot summer. They were able to come out and look at my refrigerator in two days from my original call. They called ahead and were dressed neatly and best of all were very courteous. The repair-man was able to locate the problem within 20 minutes of his arrival and ordered it right there on the spot with his I-pad and software program for FAR LESS than we had been quoted otherwise. The price included installation. The order was received and installation was handled within a week. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality service the best service for you dollar! They will be my first call should we have any other appliance issues!

Description of Work: My washing machine lid had pretty much broken off of the machine. Tony came out to look at it and it is going to cost a lot to repair it. He talked to me about options I have and was very knowledgeable. He also put in a new motor in my freezer in about 5 minutes for no cost. I had the motor so all he had to do was install it. He did a great job.

Description of Work: Checked out dishwasher that wasn't cleaning well. No error codes. Advised me on how to use cleaning agents in washer and it worked. Opened automatic defrost clogged drain in refrigerator (causing water to leak out).

Description of Work: Our ice maker had been broken for a couple of months. Mr. Appliance came out to fix it. The repair man was very nice, he checked all lines to make sure the problem wasn't a clogged line, preventing water from getting to the ice maker. It was the ice maker. Of course he had to order the one we needed. He came back out & installed it. About two weeks later the ice maker would only dispense cube ice not crushed. I thought there was something wrong with the ice maker, so he came back out. He gave me the cost of the replacement dispenser. I was shocked to learn the ice maker & dispenser were two separate units! He also told me that we could look up the part number, order it, have my husband install it, for less than what he would have to charge us. Good to know! As it turned out it was just some ice built up in the dispenser, preventing a flap from closing that would switch to crushed ice. I only needed to remove the ice build up a couple of times & it has worked perfect since then. He did not charge me for a service call either, which was fair.

Description of Work: Our 18 year old Asko dishwasher was not completely emptying the water so we called our home warranty company. They called back a day later to say they couldn't find a technician to work on that brand and instructed us to find someone on our own. We checked Angie's List and called Mr Appliance. They knew immediately that this type of high end dishwasher required one of their senior technicians and scheduled us for the next day. The technician diagnosed a problem and then tested and got the machine to empty. He also told us the dishwasher drain needed to be snaked by a plumber. When the plumber came the next day he checked the drain and told us what the technician had done cleared the drain but he snaked it just to be sure. We never would have thought to check or maintain that separate drain line. It turned out the dishwasher again would not empty so the Mr Appliance technician came back the next day at no charge. He spent a lot of time checking various things and then called the manufacturer to review the situation. It turned out the computer module was not working properly and was eventually declared "dead." Mr Appliance has been great in communicating with the home warranty company and we are receiving a nice settlement to purchase a new dishwasher. During the time it took to receive calls back from the manufacturer, the technician gave us routine maintenance tips for our other appliances and even helped us remove a broken light bulb from our microwave.

Description of Work: Washing machine spin cycle stopped working. Called several companies but appointments were two to three days out. I called Mr Appliance and they set an appointment for that afternoon. Troy, the tech, showed up early, determined the issue within a few minutes and made the repair. It was a good experience.

Description of Work: We had a leak in the refrigerator which was caused by a clogged hose. Though many times a "do-it-yourself" project, we could not get to it, so we called Mr. Appliance. Also, the dishwasher would not run - the electric panel was shot.

Description of Work: My dryer was cutting of periodically in the middle of a cycle before the clothes were dry. Mr, Appliance came out to my house 3 times to fix it. Each time he diagnosed a different problem although it seemed to be the same problem to me. After the 3rd time I called Night Owl Appliance Service and he fixed the problem. I haven't had any more trouble since.

Description of Work: Our six or seven year old GE Profile refrigerator's ice maker stopped working, and started leaking water into the freezer. After turning it off for several months, we finally decided to look into getting it repaired. We looked around online and decided to call Mr. Appliance. They came out and diagnosed the problem as the "main control board" for the refrigerator, and said it would be about $350 to replace it. We paid them $79 for the service call and did some more looking online to decide whether it was worth replacing it. We called them back a few weeks later to go ahead with the repair. Within a week they came back and did the repair, and the ice maker has been working perfectly ever since. They credited the $79 we had already paid them toward the repair. The repair man was prompt and courteous, and the same one came out for the diagnosis and the repair, which I thought was good. Overall, we were very pleased with the service from Mr. Appliance and would use them again in the future.

Description of Work: We have a Whirlpool Washing Machine with an electronics issue. The machine was confused about cycles and would shut off continually. Mr. Appliance had a good grasp on the problem before they arrived but only sent one guy out to the work initially. Unfortunately, we had told Mr. Appliance that the washer and dryer were stacked and we expected they would send two guys. Regardless, Mr. Appliance re-scheduled quickly and fixed the problem. I thought the price was a little on the high side, but I pretty much think that no matter what. Overall, Mr. Appliance was responsive, fixed the problem and the washing machine works. My bigger grip is probably with Whirlpool b/c the washing machine is really not old enough to be having these kinds of problems. Beware of that.
